Best active UND streak nobody's talking about: Consecutive games which an opponent's first-time career goal scorer doesn't finish due to a misconduct call - 2 -

"Using one's handle" may not quite register with someone who doesn't know what a live blog is. -

League office making its presence felt. Is that (sniff, sniff) consistency that I smell? -
Gotta love the glaring typo by the School (!) on its dot matrix, tractor-fed paper banner hanging across the trophy case.

Rumor has it the next program to be cut is Bracketology.

So, you get to cherry pick positive memories, and then in the same breath chastise (and name-call) those who choose to cherry pick their critiques? Got it. -

Sorry, but complaining about the arrangement of practice pucks on the wall before a game is, without a doubt, the lamest thing I've ever seen done on a sports fan site, and THAT is saying something. Suggesting that an "L"-shaped stack of pucks may have had some effect on the outcome of a game--or even on the psyche of a hockey team--not only has no roots in reality, but has exited the realm of superstition and ventured deep into the uncharted universe of stupidstition. -

Well, Brad did report that the rink was on the 6th or 7th floor...maybe we just weren't prepared for a game at altitude. -

Think positive! Generous elbow room in Fargo come April. -
This is where things start to get a little hazy. Are we going to get into hyperbole, anecdotes, rumors, etc.? On the fan conduct intervention spectrum from <-----NOTHING-----receiving the stink-eye from a uniformed usher-----getting a one-on-one talking-to in the concourse-----forceful removal-----student academic discipline----lifetime ban-----criminal charges----->, I suspect that UND/REA is quite heavily tilted to one side, ESPECIALLY for borderline boorish conduct that does not involve alcohol/drugs/weapons/threats/fighting. If anyone has reliable information, facts, or data, I'd be interested in seeing it.

Must have gotten Peggy on the phone. He should have carried a Discover card.

This. Last time around I recall embarrassingly empty arenas. I would be shocked if the IIHF wants to relive that.

Sioux Jerseys returning December 2018?!
NoiseInsideMyHead replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in UND Nickname
So now that this event has come and gone, and no one seems to have died, I would be very interested to hear from the most ardent, extremist NA advocate types about all of the harm it caused. Seriously. Can someone articulate a reason - any reason at all - why occasional uses are or should be a problem? I say to UND, let's get over it and do this more often, and to hell with the critics. Is the side that "won" the war (but seems reluctant or unable to admit victory) willing to martyr itself over and over? PS - I thought the jerseys looked great on the ice. -
HOPE Church. They’ll play at the Grand Cities K-Mart (RIP) Compoud, and the goal lamps will be blue. Parking will be plentiful, and there’s already a lounge and skate sharpening on-site.

No consultants? That's at least one Christmas tree without any presents under it this year. Won't somebody PLEASE think of the consultants' children?

So, the City likes the 32nd Ave bridge location. https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/government-and-politics/4544822-council-approves-32nd-ave-s-bridge-recommendation I wasn't initially a fan, but looking at Google Earth, I can kind of see their point. I feel for the homeowners along the 'quiet' stretch of 32nd, but there is lots of green space on which to erect a landing and get traffic sorted, albeit with a lot of earth work on the ND side. And I'm hopeful they will minimize disruption to the bike trail. While there's a spot in the 3700 block of Belmont with zero homes, there simply does not appear to be enough land AND you would still need to manage the traffic between the bridge and the arterial roads of 32nd and 47th. Moreover, there's not much green space at 47th, and it's even further away from civilization on the east side. I think the real winners of an urban crossing are the MN land owners, because that undeveloped land between Bygland and wherever the bridge ends up is going to become very accessible, and desirable. I hope the MN interests will pay their fair share. Personally, I think the proposed heavy duty southern bypass (e.g., Merrifield) is the much higher priority, if only to get the beet trucks out of GF altogether. Any other closet engineers care to weigh in on this?
