  1. HOPE Church. They’ll play at the Grand Cities K-Mart (RIP) Compoud, and the goal lamps will be blue. Parking will be plentiful, and there’s already a lounge and skate sharpening on-site.
  2. Absolutely sick glove save for Thome.
  3. No consultants? That's at least one Christmas tree without any presents under it this year. Won't somebody PLEASE think of the consultants' children?
  4. So, the City likes the 32nd Ave bridge location. https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/government-and-politics/4544822-council-approves-32nd-ave-s-bridge-recommendation I wasn't initially a fan, but looking at Google Earth, I can kind of see their point. I feel for the homeowners along the 'quiet' stretch of 32nd, but there is lots of green space on which to erect a landing and get traffic sorted, albeit with a lot of earth work on the ND side. And I'm hopeful they will minimize disruption to the bike trail. While there's a spot in the 3700 block of Belmont with zero homes, there simply does not appear to be enough land AND you would still need to manage the traffic between the bridge and the arterial roads of 32nd and 47th. Moreover, there's not much green space at 47th, and it's even further away from civilization on the east side. I think the real winners of an urban crossing are the MN land owners, because that undeveloped land between Bygland and wherever the bridge ends up is going to become very accessible, and desirable. I hope the MN interests will pay their fair share. Personally, I think the proposed heavy duty southern bypass (e.g., Merrifield) is the much higher priority, if only to get the beet trucks out of GF altogether. Any other closet engineers care to weigh in on this?
  5. I tend to look at certain KRACHs more than others.
  6. Owned by Canad. Not just subsidized. Its losses are just rolled into the hotel’s operating costs.
  7. They need to steal a page from Vegas and find a way to pi$$ off another branch of the US Armed Forces. Maybe the S.E.A.L.s, or the Blue Angels, or the "Hey, the Coast Guard matters, too's."
  8. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/basketball/4538573-tuesdays-local-scoreboard SOG 75-4???
  9. Spotted on the end-of-game video embedded on the Herald's web site. This blonde Duluth fan is clearly showing her appreciation for the student athletes on both squads, selflessly celebrating the fact that each team managed to win one game on the weekend.
  10. UND squeezed every penny out of the fan base when it pushed tickets well over $50; season ticket demand will fall, and then single-game ticket prices will fall, too. Watch for more promotions, coupons, BOGOs. It could get ugly.
  11. Losing Hornbacher's means less grocery competition AND more vacant prime real estate. http://www.grandforksherald.com/business/retail/4536609-grand-forks-hornbachers-close Anyone think another grocer will roll the dice here? And will Hugo's ever get off their duff and develop S Washington?
  12. Maybe we'll finally get our Pepperjax. http://www.grandforksherald.com/business/retail/4536609-grand-forks-hornbachers-close
  13. The revolving restaurant atop the Radisson is a nice way to take in some views. We also enjoyed the Enger Tower (weather permitting) and the Adventure Zone downtown.
  14. At UND, you could make it work by also having a 90 flex Bauer stick and a regulation goal in every classroom and kindly asking the shooter to stand just outside of the net. #scoringwoes
  15. Shorter stays than a premature ejaculator at a strip club on college night.
  16. Funny, beak-ause it's true.
  17. From football at the Al to a puck drop on NCHC.tv in less than an hour. Been a green kind of day.
  18. 7494 announced.
  19. Brilliant call.
  20. Good to see the students are all back at the dorms/library studying.
  21. [throws up in mouth a little] Further proof that two wrongs do not make a right. I mean, hate the name all you want, but good God...
  22. Jayson has been a tremendous asset for UND. I absolutely loved the in-game live chats he co-hosted with Brad. Do they even do those anymore? I got away from logging in when they changed formats a few years back. Anyway, Jayson was always very candid and had a great sense of humor...every once in a while I’d successfully sneak an off-color comment or a subtle jab (all in good fun) past their watchful eyes. Without doubt, those chats were the next best thing to being at the Ralph. I wish him well.
  23. In fairness, this has been the case for years.
  24. Meh, call me when they lock down Pan-Am and TWA.
