That's the UND alumni award you buy, isn't it?

On the other hand, like you, I mourn UND leaving the Big Sky. Always thought that would be the best conference affiliation for the Dakota schools. Then, when UND was the only Dakota school in the Big Sky, it set UND apart from the others. I do understand the desire to be in a conference with the other 3, but would have preferred they moved to the Big Sky, not the other way around. The downside there was that the BSC has gotten so big, numbers wise and geographically, that it just wasn't going to work. would really like to see a Great North conference as many here propose, but don't see the Montanas and Idaho leaving the Sky. It's their baby, after all.

Losing to Western Illinois and Missouri State. Aren't they typically two of the weaker teams in the MVFC? With losses by Montana (seem to be more like Northern Iowa lately, ranked on reputation rather than on-field performance) and Northern Arizona (preseason favorite).

Tough weekend for Big Sky vs MVFC

Not FCS, but Kalen DeBoer's Fresno Bulldogs hung 38 on UCLA

Heart: UND 35 SHSU 28 debby downer: At halftime: UND defense 10 (pick 6 and d gets another turnover that results in a FG... I know, I know) SHSU. 17 defense gets worn down in 2nd half UND. 17 (Rudy turns 'em loose when down by 3 TD's and gets one) SHSU. 38

Not usually my favorite thread, but you gotta admit, some of these are pretty clever and spot-on

Where can I get the 'over'?
 -
	UND offense 21 UND defense 16 (2 pick 6's and a safety) MVSU 3

Why is everybody (except Goon) picking Idaho? Just because they were FBS last year? Is there something in their pre-season analysis that says they are the team to beat this year in the Big Sky? Just asking?

I'm with bin on this 100%. UND getting an invite to the Big Sky was a huge opportunity to forge new relationships that was not fully developed. The regional appeal of the Summit was too much to pass up during the (hopefully temporary) budget issues UND had to address. Also like SiouxVolley's thought process and forward thinking. Is his timeline 100% accurate? Maybe not. However, he is looking forward to the future of college athletics, FBS and UND. Feels like the Montanas will stay FCS until Idaho lights a fire under their butts, but UND absolutely cannot afford to pass if/when a scenario like SiouxVolley has put forward comes to fruition.

After last season and no conference affiliation this season, just getting votes is a plus

The thing about recruiting projects, which Bubba and Co have a penchant to do, is that your coaching staff has to coach them up. Nothing wrong with recruiting kids who need some time to develop (if you have the time to teach them), but for goodness sake, develop them. This will be a litmus test of this staff's ability to coach these kids. Many returning injured and lots of underclassmen who got plenty of playing time and experience early in their careers. Could be a great formula, or could be a struggle again. Will reflect more on the staff than the players, imho. That is what I read when I read UND-FB-FAN's posts.

Surprised this has not been posted yet New transfer rule eliminates permission-to-contact process Beginning in October, Division I student-athletes will have the ability to transfer to a different school and receive a scholarship without asking their current school for permission. http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/media-center/news/new-transfer-rule-eliminates-permission-contact-process

Not to be the grammar police... would love to see UND take on Mississippi State (SEC) at the Alerua. Agree about Miss Valley

Why would anyone at UND, which can't sell out an 11k stadium talk down to a smaller city that routinely has a greater attendance than the Alerus can handle? Good for SDSU to be looking toward the future when they built their stadium. Their fb program has been on the rise and the Sioux Falls metro will continue to grow. They have a realistic chance to hit sellouts the way they are headed. UND will (hopefully) be envious of the capacity of the Jacks stadium as they rebuild a winning tradition, but November and especially December in northern ND is considerably nastier than central-southern SD. All that said, why does the NCAA schedule the first round playoff game on Thanksgiving weekend? There is enough time off after the semifinal to delay the playoff a week. Is it because of finals?
