  1. February 15th, 1998. A rare afternoon tilt with none other than the Minnesota Gophers. down 3-0 with 10 minutes to go and the Sioux rallied to score 5 unanswered. This was my freshman year. Growing up in Grand Forks I had been to many games in the late 80's post Hrkac Circus days and early 90's. Not a great tome for UND hockey. But coming off a National Championship in 1997, the Ralph was back to rockin again. This was my first Sioux/Gopher game in the student section, and boy did it no disappoint. My head hurt for days from screaming after that one!!
  2. Keep it simple. Hang a banner like this next to the retired numbers. Opposite side of the Championship banners. “Retired season”.
  3. A small black banner with white letters(green trim) with just the year “2020”. A tribute to this years team but More importantly remembering the year sports stopped and we focused on caring for each other by cancelling events.
  4. We don’t want to be like St Cloud and hang meaningless banners for not winning anything.
  5. 2020 could have ended like 2016. But it also could have ended like 2011. Both those years, UND was the best team in college hockey entering the tournament. The tournament is so unpredictable. Sometimes the best team wins. Sometimes the overall 1 seed loses in the first game to the 16 seed! While expectations were high for this team to hang 9, there certainly wasn’t any guarantee. No need for banners recognizing this season. There are plenty of other great seasons UND hockey has had where there is no banner. This is just another one of those years.
  6. Probably by the end of the day at this rate.
  7. Calm down. It's a joke. Or maybe a coping device to deal with the season being cancelled. Relax. We are all just having fun here!
  8. So Florida State received the ACC Tournament Championship trophy today when the ACC Tournament was cancelled. I though Schloss tweeted that after the cancelled the NCHC tournament and before they cancelled the MCAA tournament, that UND would be getting the auto bid. Does that mean UND is gou 2020 NCHC Tournament Champions? Do we get the Frozen Faceoff Trophy? Honest question.
  9. NCAA cancels remaining winter and spring championships Today, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled the Division I men’s and women’s 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships. This decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time during this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities.
  10. It needs to be said again. in 2009, 59 million Americans contracted the H1N1 virus. 12,000 Americans died. We are no where near to those numbers here in the United States.. Everyone just needs to relax. Is everyone being maybe a little over precautious? Maybe. But we were fine back in 2009 and moved on as a country. We will get through this as well.
  11. Perspective you won't hear from the MSM Worldwide Coronavirus stats: 128,000 cases 4718 deaths 69,000 FULLY RECOVERED (So far)
  12. When this is all said and done, the Market and our economy will come back stronger than ever. It's all gonna be ok.
  13. Tournament committee ranks the teams for the NCAA tournament bracket for both hockey and basketball. Give the Championship to who ever is the overall #1 seed!! Congrats North Dakota and Kansas!!
  14. Postpone all these tournaments until the summer. #JulyMadness
  15. NCAA is likely going to cancel all activities the rest of the year. Really no reason to have a conference quarterfinal series if there is no conference tournament or NCAA appearance.
  16. All basketball conference tournaments are now being cancelled. Hockey is next. National Tournaments soon to follow.

  18. I really doubt the NCHC will hold the Frozen Faceoff with fans. Especially now that basketball conference tournaments are being played with no fans and this weekends games are being played with no fans.

  20. It's just amazing the response to the Corona Virus compared to the H1N1 in 2009. I am not saying the Corona Virus isn't something that shouldn't be taken seriously. Just the response to both given the number of people affected is shocking. To date, 938 people in the United States have been diagnosed with the Corona Virus with 29 deaths. Back in 2009, the number of people in the United States infected with the H1N1 virus was 100 Million with 75,000 deaths and 936,000 hospitalizations. Does any one remember anyone saying in 2009 to cancel events, play sporting events with empty stadiums, and people reacting like they are today? Just seems odd that the hysteria in 2009 was not even close to what it was in 2009 with numbers that blow this viruses numbers out of the water!
  21. It was a rough game to watch. When it was 9-0 I think most of us were in a little bit of shock but knew that a little run would get us back in. Once it went 21-2, it was basically over. The bison were shooting lights out in that first half. Especially from 3. They were making everything even after we played great defense and contested most of their shots. they just couldn't miss. Didn't help that our boys came out extremely flat and looked like a deer in headlights that first 8 minutes of the game. Last year the Bison won 3 games in 3 days. there is a reason why it was the only time that has happened in Summit/Midcon history. Cause it is tough to do. Fatigue definitely played a factor in the game. But the bifggest factor was that NDSU is simply just a better team. there is a reason why the won25 games this year. They are a great team that makes 3's, makes their free throws and has a stud in Shahid and others that can make shots when they have to. Silver Lining: UND Basketball is in good hands. Listen to Sathers pressers during the tournament and you will be convinced he is the right man for this job. We played ok during the regular season but Sather got this team up and had two great wins in the Summit Tournament to reach the Championship game. I don't think anyone would have predicted that even a week ago. This program has the ability to be top 3 in this conference every year and playing in tournament championship games consistently with the expectation of going to the NCAA Tournament every year. I think the best is yet to come for this program and look forward to it.
