Wasn't meaning to turn the thread political. Mostly just making the point that this is not something new in regards to the media. If the Herald wants to get stories with UND officials, coaches, players, etc they have to remain on their side with issues involving them. I have never really been a big fan of Tom Miller, but his latest response with the Ralson suspension confirmed it. Either you are going to be objective of the establishment or not. Tome obviously doesn't have the balls to be objective and say anything bad about the University, teams, players, coaches, etc. Major props to Paul Ralston for having the courage to call out Jones. I think most people are on his side!

Just like the national media is objective and holds the establishment (Obama) accountable!! This isn't a new thing for media these days, unfortunately.

I have always wondered why UND doesn't have a gameday app that flashes colors during intros when it is dark. I know that NDSU has one for football games that flashes yellow and green, and it is very impressive. Hopefully this is the start of having that for all games in the future!

Looking at the page it looks like there is going to be info at each seat about it.

I think the teams goal this year is to make it to the Big Sky Championship game. After that anything can happen. The team has made babck to back conference tournament Championship runs the last two years. All be it the Great West Conference, but it seems we play our best basketball in March. Hopefully that trend continues.

Side note, your basketball stadium rocks!! Probably one of the best mid major stadiums I can think of. Definitely tops in the Big Sky. Now that I have talked up you awesome stadium...I hope UND cuts down the nets there this March!!

In the 24 hour news cycle, social media, internet news world, stories like this can go viral pretty quick. So can a story about Kim Kardasian being pregnant. My point is the fact that a story is being talked about nationwide on blogs, message boards, and anywhere else on the internet does not automatically qualify as a HUGE breaking news story. These kids made a stupid mistake and rightfully should be punished. But that is what it simply is. These kids are not active members in the KKK and were looking to start trouble or harass any African American people at the Ralph or playing in the game. I know I am just assuming, but I think we can all agree that was the case. That is what kids their age do, make stupid mistakes. The appropriate punishment will most likely be suspension and a letter of apology to the appropriate parties.

And can you please give me some examples of how a parents social status has determined the severity of punishment for a Red River High School student? You see there are these things called facts and evidence that us logical people use to prove their argument. Here's your chance!!

You honestly believe that the administration takes into account the social status of a students parents when handing out punishments? Really?? You really think that the administration at Red River High School is so corrupt that students with rich parents can be bought off for doing something wrong while kids who's parents aren't as well off are punished worse?!! Really??!!! I would love to hear some examples of this since "punishments have always been handled differently at Red River based on social status and who the parents are."

Sure, some are well off, but come on...why make a statement like that to just make you sound like a moron. You know that trailer park next to Red River?? It was reported that theses 3 kids were freshmen. So that makes them 14-15 years old. I am not making excuses for them at all, but they are definitely ignorant 14-15 year old kids. They may not no better. Now you can blame that on their parents, their teachers, whoever. But they definitely need to get educated on the subject, which they will certainly do now. The incident was pretty pathetic. But really to label the entire Red River Student body, fans, their alumni, or even the city of Grand Forks as people who would tolerate this kind of activity is taking it to far. These were 3 kids who did something very stupid. they are young ignorant kids who thought they were going to be funny. The fact that fellow students were the ones that forced them to take the hoods off isn't getting enough recognition. Instead of labeling the entire student body of Red River as racists, they should be commended for doing the right thing and forcing their peers who made horrible judgement to take off the hoods.

Mankato is finally putting a good season together where it looks like they will make the playoffs. That only took 17 years!! Good luck Penn State!!

I am sure it wasn't just a coincidence that UND and Denver only play 2 games next year. Everything done for a reason. Your theory might be right.

UNO was the only "rival" that would work for UND. You are obviously going to put the Denver schools together. And Miami and Western Mich is a no brainer as well. With the schools left, I suppose they figured they would keep the Minnesota schools together. So that leaves us UNO. After traveling to Omaha 2 weeks ago, it is a pretty good road trip. I think it will be a good rival. I would hope they are going to balance the schedul out so we would rotate evenly the teams we don't play twice. Which would mean the next time we don't play Denver twice would be in 2016-2017. And the series will probably be in GF. If they do it right, the next time we don't see Denver in GF would not be till the 2019-2020 season. I like the fact that the league allowed for several OOC games. Gives a chance to play Minnesota, Wisconsin, and another local Minnesota school like Bemidgi or Mankato. It sucks not playing the Gophers and Badgers twice every year at home. But it is not like we will never see them again at the Ralph.

Our remaining conference schedule is: @ Portland St. @ Eastern Washington Southern Utah at home If we win 2 of those games, we are in the conference tournament for sure. ! and we may still get in based on what everyone else does. Considering that 2 of the games are against bottom feeders, I am liking our chances. Of course anything can happen. Our road play has deffinitely improves drastically this year. Lets just win out the regular season and stay hot into the tourney.
