A big Oil derrick trophy would be sweet!!

I have always wondered if there was a way to come up with a new name and logo, but keep it similar to the Fighting Sioux logo. What about choosing the name "Roughriders" and having a Bennet Brien type logo of Teddy Roosevelt facing to the left using the same type of color scheme and look to it. Heck, maybe Brien can even design it. That way the logo would be different but have the same type of look to it. Would maybe be easier for people to adjust and accept it. Just a thought.

I will take a 10% Hendrickson over a 80% Hanson. But as soon as Hanson is 100%.....he deserves the start. He earned it and would fit right back ion the offense. There is a reason that he won the job in the spring and in the fall camp. He is better. But only if he is at 100%. Until then, Marcus will be just fine. I am confident in both our quarterbacks. But given the choice between both if they are both at 100%, I'd take Hanson.

6 wins typically does not get you in the playoffs. IMO (and the majority of the FCS world) believe that they will have to run the table and win all 7 of their games to make the playoffs. Very possible....but not likely.

He's going to Graduate school here right? That was one of the factors that brought him here. He is gonna be on campus next year anyway. Not a bad idea. Only question is, as mentioned, who is the backup?

I have heard about the yell leaders at NDSU. From what you say the seem to work. While I appreciated the increased student support of actually filling the student section, I was disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm they showed. Yes, the student section was full for the first two games. But for 90 of the game they just stood there. No cheering unless we scored or it was 3rd down. The addition of yell leaders would not only get the students into the game, but the yells and cheers would spread to the rest of the fans. Imagine all the fans chanting the same thing at the same time. It would make for a great atmosphere. People that normally wouldn't attend games may want to check out this new exciting atmosphere at the Alerus and we would get more people at games!!

What is going to convince a family of 4 to go to a game on a Saturday afternoon and pay money to go to a game they can watch for free at home? That is the obstacle that UND and the Alerus need to address. While I agree winning well get people in the building, there needs to be other ways to get people there until the winning consistently happens. The family pack deal that I mentioned before is a great idea. Heck...charge 40 dollars for a ticket, hot dog, and a pop and that will get fans that may not have made the effort to go to a game attend the game if the price is right. Once they are there, then the in game atmosphere and more importantly the play of our team on the field will maybe convince them to come back again.

And how have those UNC Bears been the last decade??!!

Just remember the 2001 team had a lot of key players that were Roger Thomas recruits. He does deserve some of the credit for turning around the program which led to that NC.

I would like to see more ticket/food deals like the one above that Duke is doing to encourage more families to go to the game. They do this for other sports at all levels. Would be great to see it here at the Alerus.

I thought they said that Molberg was the backup for the last two games. I may be wrong, but that would be the logical choice.

I saw stick with Hendrickson next week at Sac State. If Hanson is at 80% and Hendrickson is at 100%, start Marcus. Know if Hendrickson had struggled the last two game, there would be a real push for Hanson to make the start, but right now there is no need to rush him. I do think that Marcus has done a great job filling in. Way beyond a lot of peoples expectations. But Hanson is the starter and he shouldn't have to earn his starting spot back just because he was injured. So as for now, stick with Marcus cause he is doing just fine and has a great chance to win next week. Give Bradon that extra week off and get him ready hopefully for the the Cal Poly game.

I noticed that. I think they painted the court before the new logos came out. Seems like a dumb thing to do to paint the old logo on the court knowing that a new one was coming. I do however like the interlocking ND in the middle!!

Coach Long seems to have done his homework on us. He listed all of our players that their defense is likely going to key on. I think they are going to very tough definitively on Saturday. I home Muss is accounting for this and coming up with different looks. Also hope Muss is doing his research on the Aztecs as much as Coach Long is doing on us.
