I agree. My point was it is not like we are getting beat like we did by EWU every game. We are right in these games with top 20 teams in the country. We aren't there yet, but the team isn't as bad as people want to say they are. I suppose after 3 straight loses people get a little frustrated. All I am saying is to put things in perspective.

Another point.....NDSU was crushing during their transition years before joining the Valley. They were 10-1 in 2006 and 2007 and ranked #1 in the nation. In 2008, they joined the Valley and were 6-5. the next year in 2009 they were 3-8. We all know the caliber of football they have down in Fargo. I will give them credit. But NDSU had teams that played in the Great West and were a 10 win team before they entered their new conference. And even they struggled out of the gate adjusting to their new conference, new teams, and new style of play. My point is schools that enter a new, and much better, conference are going to have to take our lumps. this is not the Great West anymore. this is the Big Sky. So while I know that our expectation were high this year and everyone wants to start pointing fingers , lets just calm down and realize that it may take a few games to adapt and adjust to the style of play in our new conference. These teams are an a much higher level than what we are used to playing in years past. We have things that we are doing good, and there are things we need to improve on. Just want everyone to just RELAX and realize that this is a process. Not going to go from 3-8 in the Great West to being a top 3 Big Sky team in 2 years. The team will get better. Just lgive them a chance to.

Everyone needs to calm down. Yes we had high hopes going into this season. But everyone that looked at our schedule said that it was probably the toughest in the Big Sky. Did anyone really think that we were going to walk into this conference and go 7-1, 6-2 in the conference? You can be optimistic, but I will be realistic. The team has played bad defensively....we all know that. But as bad as we have looked tackling and covering receivers We have had a chance to win all our games except for the E. Wash. game. 3 of our loses (SDSU, Cal Poly, N. Ariz.) we have been within a score in the 4th quarter. And those were all good teams!! Top 20 FCS teams. So looking at the loses we have, if we would have been able to close out in the 4th quarter of those game, it would be a totally different outlook on this season.

Wasn't that what was said about N. Arizona and they passed for 363 yards and 4 touchdowns? Montana has our tape of the games we have played. You don't need a lights out passer to be successful against our secondary. I anticipate Montana to pass plenty of times on Saturday.

UND students will be in sections 42 and 43. I assume that most of the UND fans will be in the General Admission sections (20,21,22,23) But there are still seats in the green reserved sections if you don't want to sit at the end.

Oh and don't forget Mt. State!! I am sure they are top 10 as well. If this year was our initiation into the Big Sky Conference, I definitely feel like UND is Kevin Bacon at the Omega Theta Pi house saying "Thank you sir may I have another!!"

Get over to the ticket office in the Union to get yours now!" That reitterates my prediction of at least 10,000 people at the game tomorrow

UND's main goal on defense this weekend is going to be to stop the run. They are going to stack the box the majority of the time to make sure Bauman doesn't run all over us. Muss today at the UND fan luncheon said that Breneman, Benjamin, and Goodman will all be out this week., so it is going to be a tough task unless some guys stepup...which they are certainly capable of. the starters weren't doing that great the last two weeks against the run...maybe these backups can come up big. Our secondary could be tested more this week than ever...so we will have to see how they do. Being that it is a home game and Homecoming, I think the team will play better than the last two weeks. As far as the attendance, Homecoming will bring more fans out. I saw that the weather is supposed to be in the 50's. Yes, the game is indoors, but that the nece weather will get more people tailgating. If I were to predict, I would guess the attendance will be right around 10,000.

Mussman is obviously trying to geek the NAU coaching staff guessing. Hanson....Hendrickson....both?? Who knows. Muss isn't going to say. He knows what they re going to do. But keeping it vague keeps the other guy guessing. I think we will go with one guy. And I think that guy is Hanson. He said on the coaches show that Hendrickson didn't like going in and out last weekend. MArcus said to Muss to just make a decision and stick with it. Hanson will start IMO. He will take every snap. Only if UND is down at say halftime and Hanson is looking really bad will Hendrickson come in. I am excited to see 4 quarters of Hanson at the helm.

Until NDSU plays UND, you will consistently here from UND fans that NDSU does not want to play us because they do not want to lose to UND. I am not saying they are scared to play UND by any means. They are the best team in FC right now. They have beaten many ranked teams. They have won a conference title. They have won several games against FBS teams. They have won a National Championship. But even Bison fans can agree that losing to UND in football after all the have accomplished in the past 9 years, would be a huge setback for their program. Sure they can hang their hat, and rightfully so, on all their successes. But losing to UND would be a huge blow to NDSU. So until they decide (or GT decides) to play the game, you are going to keep hearing from UND fans that NDSU does not want to play us because losing would would equal Armageddon in Fargo!!

So 4-1, ranked 18th in the country is not a good team? We all know you think that no one is going to beat the Bison for the next 10 years, and that no team will ever be as good as them, but give NAU a little credit. Wait...unless the team is wearing green and yellow and goes byt the name Bison, you don't give them credit!!

I noticed that. I am not sure why the hockey team isn't using the interlocking ND logo. I realize that the team has more national recognition and they don;t want to confuse us with Notre Dame. But, our logo is green and black...Notre Dame's is blue. IMO, The interlocking ND should be at center ice, on the helmets, and on the breezers. Its on their jersey on the shoulders, so use it other places too!

So.....anyway........Montana State, that should be a fun new rivalry!!!

Previously there was a date that stores had to sell Sioux merchandise. It was like July 1st 2012 or something like that. Of course that was before the repeal of the repeal and the vote happened. I have not heard of any new dates for merchandisers to sell their Sioux merchandise by. I wonder if they will just be allowed to sell what they have till it runs out.

So a little off topic...but in regards to Saturdays game. UND is promoting the Homecoming game as "Get Your Green On." I am wondering if we are going to see the team in their traditional home green jerseys on Saturday. Would make sense to me. Fans are encouraged to wear green....I would think that they would want the team to be a part of that. Much like how the Montana game is a "Blackout game" the team and fans will be wearing black. I am also very curios to see how the new helmet color looks with the green jerseys.

So obviously the coaches aren't going to say anything as to who will start this Saturday. But who does everyone think will start this weekend? I would have to put my money on Hanson. He is ready to play. I think we need to give him the reigns and see what he can do when he gets a week to prepare to be the starter and play 4 quarters of football.

I think there are a lot of people like you that share your view. I do agree that no other name they eventually pick will ever be as good as the Fighting Sioux. No logo will be better than the newest Fighting Sioux logo. But there will come a time when the University chooses a new name and logo. Of course there will be people that will refuse to buy anything with it on it. But I think that eventually even die hard people refusing to invest in the new name and logo will slowly learn to accept it. It will be very hard....harder for some, but I think that we can all eventually unite and support the new name. Eventually all of us will be fans of teams known as the University of North Dakota (insert nickname here).
