In the Big 10, hockey takes a back seat to football and basketball. But that doesn't mean the conference is not strong. The BTHC will battle the NCHC for the best conference in college hockey year in and year out. This year, it was better. 3rd rate or not, the BTHC is not the laughing stock anymore.

The demand for Sioux jerseys, believe it or not, will decrease more and more. Especially by the students. Soon there will be UND students who weren't even alive when UND was the Fighting Sioux. They won;t have any real connection to the old name and logo except from what their parents have exposed them to. I am not here claiming that people shouldn't want to bu authentic Sioux jerseys. That's fine. My initial point was me observing the demand for Sioux jerseys now. I guess I should have bought like 100 jerseys 10 years ago. Would be making a killing today!!

I always find it interesting that you see people here posting all the time looking for authentic Sioux jerseys that aren't cheap knockoffs from China. My question is, where were these people from 2005-2012?!! There were thousands of jerseys at Scheels, the Siouxshop, etc during that time. Even though it still wasn't a for sure thing were dropping the name until summer of 2012, there was still a good amount of time that stores will selling these jerseys. I bought one in 2011 at the Sioux Shop just to have one before they were out. Nor sure why others didn't do the same. If you can't find an authentic Sioux jersey, I have a great idea for you. Go to the Sioux Shop or Scheels and grab one of the new ones they have for sale!

If you are offended by the Dakota Student article, you are probably offended that the University changed the name in the first place, even though there were irrefutable consequences to keeping it. Yes, this article was a joke. But it reminds us all that there are those out there that are clinging on to a glimmer of hope that the Sioux name would come back.

Does it help in the "moving on" process of letting go of the old nickname and accepting the new one? Well, doesn't really help it. but it certainly isn't going to change the mind of people that aren't gonna move on anyway. That being said, if you actually believed that this Dakota Student article had any truth to it (Especially considering the publish date) you my friend are an idiot!!

Current active NCAA appearance streaks: Denver - 11 Providence - 5 BU, UMD - 4 Notre Dame - 3 Schools, even really good programs, typically miss the tournament from time to time. Given the parody now in college hockey, we may never see a 15 year run of NCAA tournament appearances like UND just had for a long time....or ever again!!

I blame this years performance on the majority of our fans cheering for the wrong team!! All year long fans have been cheering for the Fighting Sioux when they should have been cheering for the Fighting Hawks!!

Look how the NCAA does it for FCS football. A seeded team gets a bye and a guaranteed home playoff game. If they keep winning and they are the higher seed, they are awarded the game. No requirement to bid. No demand from the NCAA saying they need to make a profit. No matter if it is a 19000 seat Fargodome or 3300 seat Wagner College Stadium, that higher seed has earned the right to host. Why can't it be like that for NCAA hockey?

The NCAA definitely isn't strapped for cash. Heck, they make over a BILLION dollars every year from the NCAA basketball tournament. And that is just from CBS/Turner. Doesn't even take into account ticket sales. I get it they don't want to lose money on their events. But I think that other sports tournaments (mainly basketball) make up for the loses in other sports ncaa tournaments.

#1 seeds should host. They have earned that advantage. It would end all the complaining about lower seeds hosting and getting an advantage over higher seeds. Want to play a home regional? Have a better season and earn the right to host.

If what happened to Providence in 2015 isn't going to change their minds about "neutral site" regional s, not sure what would. Remember, Providence wasn't a host school but got put in the regional in Providence as a 4 seed to help boost attendance. Basically playing a home game when they didn't earn it. Not because they were the 4 seed, but because they did not bid for a regional but got a regional in their backyard. And they obviously benefited by it by advancing to the Forzen Four and eventually winning it all. Its an unfair advantage if UND get in the tournament and a #1 seed has to play basically a road game. But that's the reality of it. And if no other team west of Allentown PA is going to make off campus bids to host, UND will continue to make the playoffs and be playing "home" games in either Sioux Falls or Fargo.

If Wentz keeps going at the pace he is now, I can't even imagin what his contract is going to be worth!!

Keenum will likely sign for around 20 million. That's only 8 million the Vikings would save by signing him. Paying the extra 8M for Cousins is totally worth it. And if you are worried about cap space for the Vikings, you haven't done your homework. Plenty of money to resign guys and sign other free agents as well the next 3 years. Cousins is better than Keenum. Signing him is the smarter thing to do.
