  1. Mankato!!! In a world where those at Minnesota think their Gophers still reign supreme in college hockey in the state (although records prove otherwise); It would be great to see Minnesota State win one right in their backyard!! #littlebrotherallgrownup
  2. Well, at least this time moser53 chose to ionly go back 3 years to dig up an old thread as opposed to over a decade in past times!!
  3. And another one...... http://insider.foxnews.com/amp/article/60724
  4. Current active NCAA appearance streaks: Denver - 11 Providence - 5 BU, UMD - 4 Notre Dame - 3 Schools, even really good programs, typically miss the tournament from time to time. Given the parody now in college hockey, we may never see a 15 year run of NCAA tournament appearances like UND just had for a long time....or ever again!!
  5. I blame this years performance on the majority of our fans cheering for the wrong team!! All year long fans have been cheering for the Fighting Sioux when they should have been cheering for the Fighting Hawks!!
  6. Look how the NCAA does it for FCS football. A seeded team gets a bye and a guaranteed home playoff game. If they keep winning and they are the higher seed, they are awarded the game. No requirement to bid. No demand from the NCAA saying they need to make a profit. No matter if it is a 19000 seat Fargodome or 3300 seat Wagner College Stadium, that higher seed has earned the right to host. Why can't it be like that for NCAA hockey?
  7. The NCAA definitely isn't strapped for cash. Heck, they make over a BILLION dollars every year from the NCAA basketball tournament. And that is just from CBS/Turner. Doesn't even take into account ticket sales. I get it they don't want to lose money on their events. But I think that other sports tournaments (mainly basketball) make up for the loses in other sports ncaa tournaments.
  8. #1 seeds should host. They have earned that advantage. It would end all the complaining about lower seeds hosting and getting an advantage over higher seeds. Want to play a home regional? Have a better season and earn the right to host.
  9. If what happened to Providence in 2015 isn't going to change their minds about "neutral site" regional s, not sure what would. Remember, Providence wasn't a host school but got put in the regional in Providence as a 4 seed to help boost attendance. Basically playing a home game when they didn't earn it. Not because they were the 4 seed, but because they did not bid for a regional but got a regional in their backyard. And they obviously benefited by it by advancing to the Forzen Four and eventually winning it all. Its an unfair advantage if UND get in the tournament and a #1 seed has to play basically a road game. But that's the reality of it. And if no other team west of Allentown PA is going to make off campus bids to host, UND will continue to make the playoffs and be playing "home" games in either Sioux Falls or Fargo.
  10. If Wentz keeps going at the pace he is now, I can't even imagin what his contract is going to be worth!!
  11. Keenum will likely sign for around 20 million. That's only 8 million the Vikings would save by signing him. Paying the extra 8M for Cousins is totally worth it. And if you are worried about cap space for the Vikings, you haven't done your homework. Plenty of money to resign guys and sign other free agents as well the next 3 years. Cousins is better than Keenum. Signing him is the smarter thing to do.
  12. Here is a great site for some authentic UND hockey jerseys!! Maybe fans should check them out!! http://siouxshop.com/store/category/1/1/Jerseys/
  13. First thing (after the different striping on the arms) is the chin!! They going for the Demon Deacon look?!!!
  14. Not sure why mid major conferences who are all trying to save money don't do this. You would think it would be much cheaper to send both teams on a road trip as opposed to sending them on two separate road trips. I get it that schools would likely only sell 1 ticket for 2 games and they are worries that would hurt their ticket sale revenue. But you never know, it could increase overall attendance.
  15. Of all the years where UND hosts a Regional in Sioux Falls and the Frozen Four is in St Paul, we are fighting to make a playoff spot at the Frozen Faceoff!! The road to #9 is very favorable for UND this year. Just need to find a way in to the tournament. Anything can happen after that. History has proven that!! JUST WIN BABY!!
  16. We are probably much better off playing the early game. If we lose Friday night, we absolutely need to win the 3rd place game Saturday. Would need some hslp as well, but I would rather play an absolute must win game with more rest against a Duluth or Denver team that was playing at 10:30 the night before when we were done at 7. Win or lose Friday, we should all be cheering for a double OT game in the late game!!
  17. Looks like we are the early game, as expected. https://www.nchchockey.com/news_article/show/896577?referrer_id=767342
  18. In regards to the Frozen Faceoff and making the NCAA Tournament......
  19. Anyone know if it is at all possible to watch the games via streaming app through CBS Sports? I am thinking not, but just wondering.
  20. Boom!!! 16 straight trips to the conference tournament. Hell of a streak!! Keep in going boys!!
  21. UND overtime game? What a shock! Everyone drink!
  22. The point I was making is off the sports that got cut, and all the athletes pas and present that played those sports, the Lammy's are the only two that continue to bring up the issue and criticize UND every chance they get. UND doesn't have a women's hockey program anymore. Is that denying girls an opportunity? Sure. But UND women's hockey isn't the only "future of female hockey players." Instead of being bitter that UND dropped the program, they should be focusing on other avenues that can expand the sport of womens hockey. UND having a womens hockey program certainly wasn't the only way to do that.
  23. Not even any other former womens hockey players, including the ones that were on the team when the program was cut, have commented on this as much as the Lammy twins. Besides the few days after it all went down, the only ones that consistently bitch about it are these two. I wonder how many hours the Lammy's got to train at the Ralph including ice time that the Ralph and UND did not charge them for. For all that they have been provided by UND when they were at school and the last 8 years or so training for the Olympics and World Championships, you would think that they wouldn't make it a priority to bash UND every chance they can get.
