Kwesi appears to have given Flores the perfect pieces to the puzzle. That defense is flying to the ball. Even some of San Fran's completions, we had guys all over them. Darnold has been a ridiculous surprise through 2 games. That dime to Jefferson couldn't have been any better.

I thought the Vikings would be bad, but the defense and their speed should keep them in a lot of games. That being said, my god are the Gaints rancid. Danial Jones, wow.

MN Frost: Don't mind it.

From the first article: "Fargo police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Bison head coach Tim Polasek declined comment until further information is available, citing the open investigation. A spokesperson for NDSU confirmed that Pickett is a "student-athlete" at the school but referred all other questions to the Fargo police." Looks like they got the facts and then made the appropriate decision as I would suspect any program would.

Nice list! I have a feeling the league will be a little top heavy this year compared to the parity of the past few years.

Went to NDSU as Iowa State in 2009. Really fun tailgate scene. Enjoy and good luck.

The one I'm referring to was a defenseman who was a FR last season for the Knightriders.

My biggest beef with girls ND hockey right now is the schedule. Currently, each team play each other 2x and that leaves only ONE non conference game. Hard to get new girls "tested" in that model. Your east/west would help with that.

Heard none to Warroad this year at least! I know of one Fargo girl to Moorhead, one GF to some AAA academy in New Hampshire and one GF girl to Shattuck. Both GF big hits for them, I would've had them top 3 with the goaltending they have. They'll still be good with the back end situation but losing 2 players like that hurts. There maybe more I haven't heard about. There's a nice group in Bismarck now with both LHS/BHS and CHS. Brenna Curl stuck it out and is going to Maine. Avery Matt stuck is out and will be going D1 after her senior year. There are other players who will be right there, including 2-3 FR and a couple 8th graders (who aren't allowed to play HS hockey in Bismarck due to AD rules). Both Bismarck teams will compete this year after some growing pains when the change occured. My hope is they start a trend where it's OK to stay home.

Kenleigh Fischer from Fargo North will be representing the U18 Women's team in the Rivalry Series against Canada next week.

Plenty of WDA kids taking advantage of other options (pending the tryout process) as SRs. Mandan: Trinity Anderson heading to the MJ. CHS: C Vig to the Bobcats. Sabers: Beasley heading to the MN Wilderness. Otto (G) headed to some AAA team in MI, the net was his for Faragher. Minot: Morelli to the NAHL. Haaland to Northstar. Can't fault any kids for leaving for a NAHL opportunity.
-
Rumor on the street is the 2025-2026 school year. Minot also loves their JR Gold hockey. I've heard they have enough kids to field at least 2 JR Gold teams....and a lot of them avoid HS hockey all together.

I believe he's in throwing events and would like to get in the medical school down the road.

Jody went to work for Game One according to a recent tweet by him. Game One is pretty well involved with HS clothing apparel...with some success and regular working hours, I'm guessing he will be done in the media.

2023-24 ND High School Hockey

Avery Hovland from West Fargo commits to Gopher Women's hockey. She played in the WF youth system, for Team ND, and this past year headed out to NAHA on the east coast. Pretty wild.... -

I agree with your main point. Go to Warroad, Moorhead (girls side)...that's where you tryout. Hockey academies as well, but that's a little tougher to manage I think. Pretty cool for Kenleigh Fischer to make the U18 National Camp. That has to be fairly rare for ND. I've been paying closer attention to girls HS hockey for maybe 4-5 years and she's the first I can remember. Hope she sticks it out in ND through her senior season. Sidebar: how much of this is just an epic money grab? I clicked on one of the camps and I think it was $750 freaking dollars just to participate. -
How good was the 90s era DAC10? Bring back the DAC!

McFeely wants NDSU to go to FBS for his leisurely travel purposes. Nobody gonna last as an Independent in this day and age, and besides lunatics, it's not on anyone's radar. The Dakotas and Montanas in a conference together would be awesome though. College sports is all about regional rivalries, but the current landscape of college sports conferences is now coast to coast with tv markets and eyeballs being the biggest seller. Therefore...The Dakotas are screwed. Until, perhaps, the FBS splits and the G5 is it's own entity.

Guessing the odds of USA Hockey going against NDAHA are slim and none. -

Good for Wes. The public shaming of him on social media was pathetic and embarrassing. It's hard to get hockey coaches the way it is in Bismarck, I'm guessing the number of applicants for this one after that will be slim to none. -

I can speak on the girls side...not on the boys side, my son never had interest in Team ND or pursuing post HS hockey. I think we talked about earlier in this thread, the amount of girls that have graduated from ND hockey and made a Division 1 roster is minimal. There have been quite a few that have left ND for greener pastures and went D1. Would they have made it had they stayed? Nobody knows. Are the 10-15 girls who could be playing HS hockey in ND who left going to make D1 hockey? Some, yes. Some no. Time will tell.... Problem is...you have a daughter who loves the game, works at it, dreams of playing D1 hockey. Go to a tournament or a camp and they're told "you need to get out of ND." What do you do? There is no Juniors for girls hockey players. Their JR and SR year is their "juniors" experience. So girls do Team ND in the fall, then drop back to their 15U and HS teams and the level of play just drops. The intent being, play that level year round...with like minded girls...and your game elevates. Because every HS team has maybe 2-3 girls (if they're lucky) who actually prioritize hockey. The former UND coach literally looked Britta Curl in the face and said she needs to get out of ND. She stuck to her guns but got recognized outside of ND hockey (USA HP), got a scholarship to Wisconsin, has a Gold medal, etc. She's the .0001 %. So do I blame families for leaving? No. Would this be enticing? Yes, once the kinks are worked out. Do I want to move my daughter somewhere because of hockey? Also no. Am I glad there are people looking to create different avenues for kids? Absolutely. -

Due to the high number of boys and girls leaving ND, status quo is not working. -

Fall of 2023 NDAHA Board Meeting Minutes. 2nd page. A full out discussion about a year round AAA program (think sioux falls power) being run in ND. Sounds like the wheels are being greased. Heard rumors of this at the State Tournament, but hadn't seen that it was officially discussed. Curious how this is going to play out. https://ndaha.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/NDAHA-2023-Fall-BOD-Meeting-Minutes.pdf
