If I had to guess, Park Christian and Moorhead do not have a CO-OP agreement for Boys Hockey. A similar issue exists in East Grand Forks, where girls who attend Sacred Heart play for Crookston instead of the EGF Girls team. I do know there are agreements with Park Christian and Moorhead for Girls hockey, as that line has been crossed in the past.

Things did not go well for West Fargo in their first game without Pat. A 7-0 drubbing from Fargo North with 55 shots given up.

Per Bob Gillen's website: Twenty Six Year Feat Accomplished by States Top Scorers This is my 26th Season as the ND High School Hockey State Statistician and I cannot recall a time over the past twenty-six seasons of what happened tonight [2-11-25] with the top two scorers in the state on the same night in Boys High School Hockey. I do not keep that detailed of stats, but I cannot remember two players on the same day achieving this feat let alone the Top Two Scorers in the State in Boys High School Hockey. Congrats to Bryce and Mackley for their performances tonight! #1-Bryce Mattern F Jr. W.F. Packers 21-GP 46-33 79-Points #2-Mackley Morelli F Sr. Minot High 21-GP 30-31 61-Points --Both Players scored Four Goals in a Period --Both Players had Natural Hatricks in under a Two Minute Span Morelli had a Four Goal First Period with his Natural Hatrick to start the game. He scored his goals in the first period at the following 0:29 / 1:41 / 1:57 then scored his 4th of the Period at 16:34 Mattern had a Four Goal Third Period with his Natural Hatrick to end the game. He scored his goals in the third period at the following 9:19 then rattled off three straight at 15:25 / 16:10 / 16:28

That about does it in the west, assuming Legacy beats Hazen on Friday for 6 points: Sets up: Minot vs BHS/Dickinson winner (toss up) Mandan v Jamestown CHS v Willy/Hazen Legacy v Bottineau
-
Park Christian isn't a Catholic school, however.
-
No Catholic school in Moorhead so they go to Shanley?
-
Not sure I've ever seen that called before...
-
Girls side it's looking like: North, GF, CHS, Mandan, L/B, Minot, WFU, Davies. Seeding 2-7 is still sort of a hot mess and some teams have 2 games left...while some have 3, 4, or 5. This state tournament is going to be an absolute crap shoot.
-
Hard to believe the boys are down to the last week of the regular season. Once that calendar flips, the season flies by. Top 4 in the East are locked: GFC, RR, WF, Davies...just depends on RR and WF for 2/3, and North has the inside track on the 5. One big game out west this week: Mandan at Jamestown. Odds are this will be the 4/5 matchup in the opening round of the WDA as well, so this will determine home game for that one. Looks like the west will shake out as: Minot, CHS, LHS, Mandan/James, Mandan/James, Bottineau, Willy, BHS, Dickinson, Hazen.

Listening to livebarn you can sort of hear what's going on. Not the best audio but it sounds like "go home" followed by a "do your f*&king job." This was with about 3 minutes left in the game and Williston down 5-1 after a blast to a LHS players dome. There was some other heckling going on as well.... They're having a hard time finding ref to work up in Williston for obvious reasons, rumor on the street is Andy Carton will be there Saturday for Willy and Mandan. This should probably get put on PSP hahahaha.
-
After Jamestown lost to CHS tonight the top 3 appear to be locked: Minot 1 CHS 2 Legacy 3 (assuming 6 point win over Hazen next week) Looking like Mandan/Jamestown will be the 4/5 game and BOTT 6. Legacy at Willy: 5-1 Legacy. 5 Majors, 3 on Willy with 2 ejections, 2 on Legacy and a hometown fan ejected. Gong show.

They've been standing with pitchforks for this job for years over there. Should've let the man resign with grace after the season. Been there since Day 1...perfect time to cut the cord on 2 programs in WF.
-
He did end up at Crookston, perhaps lasted a year. At the time, had some off ice issues but was extremely talented. Alleged story...he went to pre-season Captains practice at UND. Before the ol' world wide web...nobody knew who he was and just figured it was someone Blais told to show up. Real practices start and Blais is like "who the hell is this kid?" lol.... Irey family that came through Bismarck also with massive Bottineau connections.

Yup...I just don't know how the youth is divided geographically between the 3 programs. I used to know that kind of stuff, but this is my last go around. The hope would be for 3 good teams.
-
Yeah for sure. That is wild. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad there's 3 teams. It's up to the youth program to grow the depth and skill...and hopefully Bismarck keeps recycling through hockey generations, that's where the west is way behind.
-
IDK all towns lose kids early. I think it's moreso with the 3 HS teams cutting into the depth. For example, had Legacy not started, CHS would've had 2 Vigs, Beasley and Martell on their roster 2 years ago (all left for NAHL their senior seasons) plus Marcus Butts who was getting JR attention but chose baseball instead, in addition to some really players one each teams line 2/3. Instead of one great team, Bismarck had 2 "good" teams. Gonna take awhile for the depth of Bismarck Hockey Boosters to fill 3 lines on 3 HS teams...and by that I mean in order for them to make a serious run at all 3 qualifying.
-
Another OT win for CHS and they about lock up the 2 seed. Olson has done an amazing job with this team.
-
They've been missing an impact player for about 2 weeks now. He should be set to return soon. Regardless...seeds 2-6 in the West, on the right weekend....take your pick. All about peaking at the right time.
-
Devils Lake has a FR goalie on their girls team who is also legit. She's going to be an animal. L/B put up 16 SOG in the first an 21 in the second and trailed 2-1 going into period 3. 25 SOG in period 3 and finally scored 3 times but it took a tip and plenty of net front traffic.

What a great quote from Forsberg in the DL Newspaper: “It gives us a lot of confidence,” Forsberg said. “Down goes No. 1, you know? We had to really push ourselves to win this game. And obviously [the Knights] didn’t come to expect that. They thought they were gonna come here and wipe us clean and beat our ass.”
-
Keller likely has them all. Perhaps minus the first one, which was tipped. But I agree...take advantage of it, and Mandan did just that.
-
I think the only illness they had is the backup goaltender plague. And Mandan plugging up the d zone plague.
-
Minot's goalie situation wasn't good but holding the Magi to 1 is impressive.
