  1. Definitely agree Caggiula was helped in the direction of the goalie and barely made any contact. If they were gonna call Caggiula for the cross check on that the goalie should of got called for a dive too as he was barely touched. Refs let goalie get away with a bunch of slashes anytime anybody was near the net as well.
  2. From Brad's blog Future nonconference Tentative, subject to change 2016-17 vs. BC in NYC (1) vs. Mich. State (2) @ Minnesota (2) vs. Canisius (2) vs. BSU (2) at Union (1) vs. RPI (1)
  3. I don't think they ever did in the 2 games and I'm sure a lot of fans enjoyed that. They also made sure to mention the Go Sioux messages from Hak.
  4. So happy! Got everything out of everybody tonight and showed the dominance we have seen often this year. Fighting Sioux hockey back where it belongs!
  5. I know Buccigross and Melrose get ripped on quite a bit for their announcing but I did enjoy that they only called us North Dakota or UND last night and hope they stick with that again Saturday and not mention the nickname. The injury to LJ is tough as he had been playing some of his best hockey the last few weeks. I think we will see St. Clair in for him but the other thing is can St. Clair step in at center or will he need to play wing. If they trust him to play center it allows you to move Sanderson or Simonson up with Gardner and Poganski which I like better but you can only do that if St. Clair is capable of centering the other line.
  6. Mismash is 17 now and turns 18 next February so I would guess he will come in for the 2017-2018 season which would be a year before Tychonik is expected to arrive.
  7. Another big time commit, about a month ago he committed to playing for Penticton next season. Over The Boards ‏@OverTheBoards 1m1 minute ago 00 D Jonny Tychonick (@PentictonVees) commits to UND. Calgary Flames AAA product was 12th overall WHL pick (Sask.) in '15. LS. ETA 2018.
  8. USHL‏@USHL 8h8 hours ago Collin Adams thriving in 1st USHL season, tied for rookie lead in scoring http://bit.ly/CollinAdams #WhosNext
  9. St. Cloud Cathedral goalie. He was invited to NTDP camp and it sounds like that is where he will play next season. Keegan Karki ‏@keegankarki 8m8 minutes ago Proud to announce my commitment to play hockey at the University of North Dakota! Thanks to everyone who helped me along the way! #GoSioux
  10. Lakeville North forward Henry Enebak‏@EnebakHenry 31m31 minutes ago Honored and blessed to announce my commitment to play college hockey at St. Cloud State University! Thanks to all who helped! #GoHuskies
  11. Mick Hatten - St. Cloud Times 35 mins · BREAKING NEWS: @SCSUHUSKIES_MH goalie Charlie Lindgren will bypass his senior season to sign a pro deal. Signing likely later today. 3 teams are finalists for him
  12. Think you can have 1 extra guy warm up and no it doesn't happen all the time. It usually means someone is playing hurt and coaches aren't sure if that player can go or not.
  13. Not so sure on the new recruits being more comfortable with the Hawks name or embracing it at least for the hockey recruits. If you look at the guys who are currently committed and their tweets announcing their commitment most have the #Sioux or #FightingSioux at the end of them.
  14. He will probably be in Iowa. From what I read the Wild left it completely up to him and he decided to sign I do believe Seeler may have already graduated though so that could be part of the reason.
  15. Really good job today grinded through some stuff that can definitely frustrate a team. Generated lots of shots early but didn't have much to show for it. Had a lot of good chances that either got blocked, missed the net, or guys just couldn't quite get the shot off quick enough. Thought the team defense was very good and really limited time and space for Michigan most of the night. Both of the Michigan goals were the result of powerplays even though only 1 was officially on the PP. I know the refs wanna let stuff go come playoff time but the amount of holding, hooking, and interference Michigan got away with was pretty ridiculous.
  16. Solid win that got a little sloppy at times after getting up by 4 goals but that isn't unexpected. Really good response after giving up the early goal and trailing early. Refs really let a lot of things go today especially the stickwork. Puck seemed to really be bouncing around a lot today and at times you could see it was tough for guys to make plays because they just couldn't get the puck to settle.
  17. I'd have no problem with this and the conference would still be just as strong as it is now. I don't care whether the rest of their sports are D1 or D2 like some others do I just care about what kind of hockey program they have and right now of the 4 teams I'd rank them Mankato, Miami, Bemidji, and Western Michigan.
  18. Watched about a period of their championship against Lowell. When I was watching I noticed Northeastern is pretty passive on their PK and I think that is when our PP has been most successful this year so if they play it that way Friday that could be a big advantage. I also think if the Gardner-Johnson-Poganski line is playing well Northeastern will have no answer for their play along the boards. Here are some highlights of their championship game from youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaSjmEeVlyI
  19. I agree I don't mind the Northeastern matchup. Yes I'd rather get RIT or Ferris State but Northeastern definitely has some flaws too. I only watched about a period of them last night but one thing I noticed was how passive their penalty kill was and those are the types of kills that UND has had success against this season so if Northeastern takes a few penalties I think we will be able to take advantage of those chances.
  20. This is what I'd guess they will do. Albany (1) Quinnipiac vs. (16) RIT (8) Massachusetts Lowell vs. (10) Yale St. Paul (2) St. Cloud State vs. (15) Ferris State (6) Denver vs. (9) Boston University Cincinnati (3) North Dakota vs. (13) Northeastern (7) Michigan vs. (12) Notre Dame Worcester (4) Providence vs. (14) Minnesota Duluth (5) Boston College vs. (11) Harvard
  21. Messing with the pairwise predictor if it looks like if Quinnipiac loses and both St. Cloud and UND win St. Cloud would finish #1 and UND #2. So if Minnesota wins the B1G the question would be does the committee keep St. Cloud close to home in St. Paul to play Minnesota and UND then gets to play the bottom seed Atlantic hockey winner in Cincy or would they switch that around. I think if that ends up being the situation I would rather face the Atlantic winner in Cincy.
  22. It is how Duluth has played all year. If officials let it go they can be very tough to play against but if officials call it tight they'll have a parade to the penalty box all game. Who is reffing and how they call it could be pretty crucial for Duluth's success or lack of success in the NCAAs.
  23. Duluth is a tough team to play against when the officials let the stickwork and interference go like they did today. They got called for a hook and a interference penalty in the 1st and I thought Shepherd and Walsh were gonna actually limit that and allow the guys to skate and use their speed a little bit but it was like after the 1st they decided they didn't care anymore about the stickwork and interference stuff and just decided to let it all go. Duluth's goalie also came up big on a few great chances. Cam has to be better going forward the 1st goal was terrible and he looked out of position a lot today. Doesn't matter who Duluth plays in the NCAAs(yes even if it is somehow the Gophers) I hope they lose and their hooking, holding, and after the whistle slashes come back to haunt them. I think this team will be fine going forward whether the #1 in St.Paul or Cincy.
