  1. Really solid bounce back from last weekend especially with Boeser and Shaw out. Guys did a lot better job of doing the little things well tonight and I thought we saw a little more physicality throughout the lineup. Great showing by Sioux fans as well looked like an electric atmosphere.
  2. That's a terrible loss against a bad team because you didn't play most of the game off. Thought Berry would make the move to Hrynkiw after the 3rd goal if for nothing else to try to slow the momentum a little bit. Refs were awful Michigan State got away with a bunch of clutching and grabbing and the missed delay of game call when all the momentum was with the Sioux in the 3rd was absolutely terrible. Also should have been a whistle and another faceoff in the MSU zone with 3 seconds left as their player had covered the puck with his hand and instead the refs just let the clock run out.
  3. Really solid weekend can definitely see some guys starting to take steps forward in their game that we've been hoping for.
  4. Olson brings a physical presence and at least adds something to the lineup while Wilkie really isn't adding anything right now.
  5. Agree Yon in for Wilkie should be the move tonight and I'd like to see him on a line with Bowen seemed like they had some chemistry early. Wilkie hasn't really brought anything to the lineup all season.
  6. I thought this was one of the better games we have put together so far this season. I'm sure Cam wants both of those goals back and with a struggling group of defensemen he really needs to step up his play and carry us for a while. Hopefully we will see some improvement as the D get more experience but right now you can only trust about 4 on any given night. Schierhorn was the difference tonight as he was very solid tonight and got a few lucky breaks as well with about 4 posts. Thought Smith stepped into the lineup and played well but Gornall struggled and I'd much rather see Yon in over him I didn't really get that move. Hopefully Poolman can heal up this week and be ready to go for Denver because right now everytime Peski gets on the ice it seems like he panics and gives up some kind of chance and Johnson isn't fairing too much better back there right now. Think we will see some changes this week with the lines and especially the PP that 1st group really didn't seem to fit well together.
  7. Offensively the guys got better as the game went making plays and being hard on the puck. Early it just seemed like too many guys were just looking to get rid of the puck and slap it anywhere instead of moving it to someone or just skating with it. The reffing was absolutely terrible. The B1G refs bought right into Minnesota's embellishment all night gifting them powerplays and they have a solid powerplay. The 14 minutes that they took Ausmus off the ice for in the 1st for something that maybe should have been a 2 minute penalty for him was pathetic and definitely hurt us big time. Lindgren is a guy who I think is gonna have some guys coming after him tomorrow night and I think he'll get exactly what he should.
  8. Need to do a better job of getting shots through, seemed like Duluth blocked a bunch last night and guys were taking a little too long getting shots off. The powerplay seemed like it got better later in the game but we need it to start producing more. It seems to me like they're almost forcing the PP to run through Boeser and right now Brock is trying to force his shot through whenever he gets it instead of moving the puck and finding the opening. Defensively it just seems like there are a few times a game where we get lackadaisical in our own zone and it seems like most of the time our opponent has taken advantage and put the puck in the back of the net. Did like that we saw a little more physical style last night finishing more checks on the forecheck and creating some turnovers.
  9. Very good player with an explosive get off. Torn ACL last season hurt his recruiting a bit as he wasn't able to camp this summer. Minnesota has been keeping a close eye on him and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him end up there still.
  10. T. Poolman
  11. Big Teddy fan and absolutely hate to see him go down. The Vikings still have a great defense and the running game to be a playoff team even with Hill at QB but don't think they're a Super Bowl threat like they would have been with Teddy. Hill is 36 I believe and not real mobile so not sure he will stay healthy enough to start every game. Need to try and find a veteran backup that could eventually start maybe trade with Philly for Chase Daniel since they have Bradford and Wentz as well.
  12. It isn't any different and I know that. Someone just mentioned some schools like Minnesota and other BCS conference schools also doing it and I just said in most cases those are exhibitions that don't count at that level but I know the low-mid majors sometimes have to play those types of games as regular season games.
  13. Big difference between playing Crookston and SMSU as your 2 exhibition games in games that don't count and playing a team like that as part of your regular season schedule though.
  14. No change not a fan of it at all.
  15. I have my own opinion as do many others and that is fine. I will not just "join the team" and embrace the fighting hawks nickname and logo. I hate the logo and nickname would have much rather just went without a nickname but that won't stop me from supporting the UND athletic teams especially the hockey team.
  16. Men's hockey hasn't had any logo on their helmets since they were forced to take the Sioux decal off. I believe the women's team has had some kind of ND logo on their helmet the past so years so that would be the difference between the two. I wouldn't be surprised if the men continue with no logo at all on the helmet and I hope they do.
  17. Have also heard rumors their coaches didn't do a great job of keeping in contact with guys and once they asked Boeser how his season was going with Burnsville and Boeser was playing in the USHL for Waterloo at the time.
  18. Both Mankato and St. Cloud have very good D2 baseball programs that have been perennial playoff teams and on top of the NSIC. I believe Mankato made it to the National Championship game a couple years ago.
  19. I like Mankato and would be fine with adding them. I'm not as sure on adding Arizona State they need to get the arena situation figured out. Bowling Green does nothing for me, I'd put Mankato and Bemidji ahead of both Arizona State and Bowling Green if the NCHC is adding teams.
  20. Hopefully the old interlocking ND but not sure what they will do. Really wouldn't mind North Dakota wrote out like on the jerseys either. Would rather go no logo at center ice than use the new one.
