  1. Sounds like they will still add a DB or 2 but I have seen a few names of guys that they will target at DB and can't say I've seen Holm's name at all.The Daniels were planning to visit Maryland and it sounded like the staff told them go ahead and visit if you want but if you do that than were gonna move on. The other DB they lost was a juco kid who didn't graduate at semester like he was supposed to and they decided to move on rather than wait until the spring.
  2. I think that was more to do with Terrance Newman playing much better than they expected for most of the season. They were able to bring Waynes along slowly because Newman was so good for most of the season but I thought they were better off towards the end of the season when Waynes was in rather than Newman. I liked the pick of Waynes at 11 and I still like him and think he will have a very nice career in the NFL.
  3. The defense is very solid but we need a safety to start opposite Smith and I would put that as one of our bigger needs behind OL/WR. Sendejo shouldn't be a starting safety and there really aren't any good options on the team to fill a spot that has been a weakness for about 3-4 years now.
  4. Walsh has to make that field goal but you're right Peterson had another costly turnover in another playoff game at a time when you needed a drive to take some of the momentum back from Seattle. I would've liked to see more of McKinnon today as Seattle was having a tough time matching up with him and let Teddy throw it a few more times but Norv stuck with the run even with 8-9 in the box. At times Peterson can be very frustrating as sometimes he gets caught trying to look for a TD on every touch and ends up losing yards instead of taking the 3-4 yard gain that was there.
  5. I was saying to go for the TD on 1st down there too rather than just running to set up a FG just because I didn't trust Walsh but would have kicked the FG when it got to 4th down. It was a short kick that Walsh gets paid to make and has to make no excuses. Game changed with the scramble play and then Wilson being able to pick on Robinson who is a horrible CB because Newman and Waynes were both hurt. You follow that up with Peterson fumbling on the next drive and all the momentum is gone from the Vikes. Vikings had lots of other plays that coulda have been made too like the weird play when Wilson missed the snap and then hit the guy downfield to give them life, Peterson fumble, Sendejo not coming up with the interception when he got the chance, letting Wilson escape 3-4 guys a couple times to throw the ball away rather than get him for a 10 yd sack. Couple other tougher plays that they had a chance at to with McKinnon not being able to make the grab in the 1st half down the seam after being held by Chancellor and Diggs not coming up with the jump ball deep shot. This team should have won today and who knows how far they would have went but it definitely wasn't a perfect team. Lots of areas that need to be improved in the offseason like a safety to pair with Smith, the OL, and a good WR that you can pair with Diggs.
  6. I thought Lindgren the Gopher commit was there best defenseman. He did get muscled off the puck by Poganski that led to the Caggiula goal but he was real smooth skater with lots of skill and actually reminded me of our own defensemen, he's definitely a guy I would have liked to have coming to UND.
  7. You are correct Perra wasn't on scholarship but did work his way up to 3rd on the depth chart. It sounds like he will end up at D3 St.Thomas.
  8. Mattson scored the 1st goal of the game on the powerplay in a 4-3 Grand Rapids win over Duluth East. Mattson played well and showed a lot of skill and it was a great game to watch between the longtime rivals.
  9. If anyone wants to get a look at Mattson and some prospective recruits youth hockey hub is streaming the Duluth East @ Grand Rapids game for free tonight http://www.youthhockeyhub.com/news_article/show/596721?referrer_id=967187-news
  10. Here is a roster http://www.usahockeyntdp.com/roster/show/1941138?subseason=231692 Looks like the only two uncommitted are defenseman JD Greenway and forward Patrick Khodorenko.
  11. Yeah I think Schloss has said that in the live chats before.
  12. They tried to throw a couple to Pruitt Teddy just missed him on a fade that would have been a TD. Also know Ellison caught at least 1 because he got hurt on the tackle and is now out for the rest of the season. Vikings defense was solid last night but they weren't real great in other areas. They have to be better offensively and on special teams to beat Seattle and the defense needs to get pressure but also not give Wilson lanes to scramble. Norv needs to not be scared to take shots with Teddy even if he misses 1 right away, he can't get into the predictable run on 1st down calls every time like is sometimes the case.
  13. Completely agree in the 2 losses the US scored I believe 1 goal sure could have used some of the talented pure scorers that are on that list. The coaching choice also may have ended up being a poor one as Wilson basically said postgame he didn't prepare for Russia at all and knew nothing about their team or their players.
  14. Looked pretty good got robbed after a turnover from the Swiss on a nice setup from Schmaltz.
  15. Anyone else lose sound after the 1st period or is it just my computer to tv connection? Never mind got the sound figured out good clear feed.
  16. Those top guys had nothing left in the tank to make a charge in the 3rd because they had played so many minutes with all the special teams time especially with DeBrincat being out after the 1st period. With how many penalties seem to always be called in international play its just another reason they should have took guys like Connor, Tuch, and others over Easnor, Bjork, Donato, Hitchcock and MacInnis and not too many of their 4th line guys play the PK either.
  17. Always nice to beat Canada! Really dumb play by DeBrincat with the spear even if the Canada player did sell it quite a bit. The U.S. defensemen were kind of shaky I thought Belpedio and Borgen were the best of the bunch. Still wish they would have taken at least a couple of the guys like Connor, Tuch, Garland, Roslovic, Bracco, and Keller as I thought a couple of those 4th liners really struggled today.
  18. Brad E. Schlossman ‏@SchlossmanGF 58m58 minutes ago Brad E. Schlossman Retweeted Casey Johnson UND lands former Grand Forks Central star Casey Johnson https://twitter.com/Casey13Johnson/status/679728611952308224 … Casey Johnson @Casey13Johnson Honored and excited to announce my commitment to play for @UNDmhockey thank you to everyone who helped me get here #DreamComeTrue Could arrive on campus next season or 17.
  19. When Teddy gets a little time he is very good and definitely a starting caliber NFL QB. The problem is he has been playing behind a OL that has been pretty bad in pass protection sending him running for his life quite a bit this year and Diggs is the only WR you can count on to win 1-on-1 battles consistently. I like Teddy a lot right now and he will continue to get better with better protection and better weapons. I also think at times Turner gets too conservative with Teddy and could open it up a little more but a pretty big part of that is probably on the struggling OL.
  20. Can add Michigan to the list they offered last night. He said last night his top 3 are Minnesota, Michigan, and Iowa State.
  21. Real solid game tonight to finish off the sweep. Duluth really throws everything to the net and Cam was good all weekend but great job of team defense as well keeping UMD out of prime scoring areas, getting in shooting lanes, and tying up sticks. Good to see a couple power play goals tonight. Officials let them play physical and let most of the after the whistle stuff go and I was okay with that but the dirty cross check from Soucy on Boeser when he was already on the ground definitely should have been called. Loved the loud Lets Go Sioux chants all weekend and the Sioux Forever chant at the end.
  22. I think you could very well see that with the hockey team anyway. I would be very surprised if they actually use any sort of Hawk logo. I would bet they just stick with the same jersey style they have now and probably keep the helmets the same too. As for the announcer thing I'm sure we could request it but I don't think the university would want to request it.
  23. Kind of a sloppy game way too many turnovers and a little careless with the puck at times but still a solid road win. That was the most physical I've seen UND play all year and nobody looked out of place at all playing that way. Despite struggling a little bit with turnovers and creating offense the Sioux were great in the transition game and it started all 3 goals. I think that was the best game Cam has played at UND. The team defense limited the number of real good chances for Duluth but the 5-6 real good chances UMD had Cam came up with and the breakaway save could have been a gamechanger if he doesn't come up with it. He was real solid positionally and just seems much more calm in net than previous games. He did give up a few bad rebounds as the game went on but everytime a UND player was there to clear it. Nice to see both Gersich and Jantuinen finish on chances tonight hopefully that can get them rolling a little bit and hopefully Wilkie can also get on the board tomorrow as he's another guy that just needs to get one to go. As the game went on the extracurricular stuff picked up and I'd expect more of it tomorrow. The powerplay really seemed to struggle with Duluth being a little more aggressive on the PK so I'd guess that will be an area we see an adjustment in for tomorrow night.
  24. Not too many UND did a real good job getting in shooting lanes as well. I'd say 5-6 grade A chances mostly it was just Cam being solid positionally and not giving up many rebounds. The big play was the stop on the breakaway where Duluth could have cut it to 2-1 early in the 2nd with a shorthanded goal.
  25. Conner and Tuch are the biggest surprises to me I thought they were absolute locks to make the team and the strange thing is both can play on basically any type of line you wanted to put them on. I also thought Roslovic, Fischer, and Garland deserved at the very least camp invites. The execs. are already being questioned by many and if we see another disappointing USA quarterfinal loss they will be questioned even more and deservedly so. I would put Conner, Tuch, Roslovic, Fischer, and Garland on the camp roster in place of MacInnis, Hitchcock, Eansor, Bjork, and either Bittner, Donato, or Bellows.
