  1. I don't think so, people started talking about this Hibbing group when they were in youth. Know they were in state at both peewee and bantam level but not sure they ever won it.
  2. One heck of a class A championship game, good to see the title stick in section 8.
  3. One down one to go, send these clowns packing tonight led by the head Bozo behind the bench.
  4. Warroad's starting goalie left the section championship game with a back injury and reportedly is out for the state tournament. I still think they beat Northern Lakes as the senior backup has played 6-7 games this year and the same last year and been solid but big spot to step into.
  5. They always play a solid schedule with AA competition and they do the same in youth as well. Believe they are still the largest class A school in the state so I never consider them some plucky underdog.
  6. I think that went off Zellers stick on the winner. crazy that Reschny didn’t draw the power play in OT.
  7. Wednesday 11- #1 Hibbing vs #8 Dodge County 1:30- #4 Mahtomedi vs #5 St. Cloud Cathedral 6- #2 Delano vs #7 Mankato West 8:30- #3 Warroad vs #6 Northern Lakes Thursday 11- #1 Minnetonka vs #8 Gentry Academy 1:30- #4 Rosemount vs #5 Grand Rapids 6- #2 Moorhead vs #7 Lakeville South 8:30- #3 Edina vs #6 Andover
  8. Only caught the last half of the game but for the most part really liked the composure with the puck, felt a lot more playmaking when a lot of times last week it seemed like we were just trying to get rid of it for clears and get ready for a transition coming back. Spunar was very solid, encouraging to see after a couple more average games his last couple out.
  9. Needed the win and got the win. Lot to clean up certainly but got the result.
  10. Just not crisp in any area tonight, really out of sync. Spunar made some big saves but the winner and the first goal are ones he’s gonna stop more often than not. PP had some solid looks in OT but not having Zellers out at all is certainly a choice. Also pairing Verhoeff with Liv to have one timers from both side up top would’ve been how I went instead of Wiebe. Expect to see a lot more urgency and connection tomorrow night.
  11. Kwesi could have been sent packing the minute he passed on Kyle Hamilton
  12. Good to get a win when you don’t play well. Especially the first period we had some guys really fighting the puck. About mid 2nd really started to turn things up a bit and had some great chances but couldn’t convert and then the big one from Strathman late kinda carried us into the 3rd. Spunar didn’t look particularly sharp tonight either but made a save in a key spot or two.
  13. Much better team tonight, even more than the scoreboard shows. Good story and all that to get Homer a start and win but get Spunar back in tomorrow, much more comfortable with him in the net. A goal that just can’t go in and a couple absolute breakdowns that need to be tightened up lead to 3 of their 4. Finish the job tomorrow.
  14. The old Cardin Hunt really got cold when those 5:30 am practices popped up. Need a whistle flip it up off the ceiling. Kids nowadays don't get the joys of the locker rooms being in the firetrap upstairs with 6 foot ceilings and hallways that were about 4 feet wide.
  15. Played well, really the aggressor throughout tonight which you always love to see. Seemed like good energy in the building despite the ugly weather outside. Be nice to get the PP clicking again tomorrow for the sweep.
  16. You watch any of these unboxing's that Gruden does and he knows his stuff on whatever program and sport it is. He does his research before shooting these things and that is nice to see.
  17. Just looked completely surprised by the shot. overall need to be sharper tomorrow and come out clicking and getting the win.
  18. I think the floodgates open up tonight.
  19. He got a million+ last season and then had some other side deals with a few companies like UNRL. Supposedly the biggest reason is he will go to a program that is perennial championship contender. Tough one to take but more so because of the story than the actual production this season. Homestate kid turns down the blue bloods and makes an impact as a true freshman, more kids than I have ever seen running around in jerseys with #3 on it. He is the guy at Minnesota and he probably got away with some things other guys can't. The million+ that they now have to spend in the trenches is nice but its hard to still not be disappointed by this move.
