Yes but his absolute refusal to adapt his style and instead being the most risk averse coach ever is just incompetence from him. The loss last night is completely on him and absolutely inexcusable. He has done a lot of good for the Minnesota program and has them very competitive consistently but hasn't got them over the top and there are a number of losses where they had no business losing when you look at the final stats but because of the style he wants games stay close and teams can pull out a game with one mistake. Ideally I'd like for him to finally realize his mistakes and learn from them and give more freedom to his OC letting the offense be more wide open uptempo and free but I don't have any faith that he will which is why if someone like Michigan State comes after him in a couple months I won't be fretting about losing him.

I think if the B1G wanted Oregon and Washington they would have already grabbed them. Thinking they are waiting and lurking for some of those ACC schools when they become available. I've heard Schlossman mention this a number of times and while I know it was true at the beginning I don't believe that to be the case anymore, I think the rules were kinda adapted in March or April. I know Minnesota announced Dinkytown Athletes as the official collective of Gopher athletics in mid April. They also made one of their top compliance guys a new role titled Associate AD for NIL/policy and it says he will work with Dinkytown Athletes to help amplify efforts and awareness for Gopher student athletes.

The transfer portal in every sport has changed everything. I do not agree with coaches actively calling players directly on other rosters and trying to recruit them or like some basketball coaches I've heard mentioning to a guy in the handshake line something like "good game, I'd like you on our roster next year". The thing most coaches do is reach out to a guys high school, junior, family member and hey we have an opening and think your guy would be a great fit if he ever thinks about leaving where he is at.

Next years QBs at the top are better than this year so as much as it would be tough to endure during the season I really wouldn't mind seeing the Vikes flop next year. Their biggest issue is they have been stuck in that in between area when they don't make the playoffs. The middle purgatory picking between 10-16 and rarely getting that top 5 pick that are advantageous for finding the franchise QB. Williams and Maye would have been the top 2 QBs in this years draft if they could have entered.
