Not major at all. Just listed as a Class A Misdemeanor and the legislature is already looking at moving it to a felony in the future along with changing how petitions are handled because of it. Bresciani also must think it is pretty minor since he has sent out a campus wide e-mail, released a statement, a clarification on that statement and a clarification on the clarification. Yep, no big deal at all...

Looks like he had some interest, but no offers yet, from some pretty legit schools. Went to camp and UW and UM along with a visit to Western Michingan. Looks like more schools were coming on late. Recruited to play DT I would guess. Welcome to UND Brandon!

. You don't think for someone that is fighting for playing time, being suspended for 2 weeks of team activities right before the season is a punishment? I know you like to disagree with everything, but come on...

This. It seems to be just a passing thought. Move along, nothing to see here. Facing discipline for violation of the student code of conduct is not unique to NDSU. Past offenders should have gone through the same process, but rarely do you hear about the school punishments because it typically isn't very harsh. Now if there has been multiple violations of the student code of conduct by someone, their punishment could and should be a little more severe. It will be interesting to see how this end of it plays out, as at least one person in this incident has multiple offenses. The fact that they had to point out something that all students go through to try to cover themselves shows NDSU realizes how big of a mess they have made by how they handled this situation. Not sure how NDSU backers can point to this and think that everything will be fine because Bresciani sent out an e-mail.

Just curious because I couldn't find anything, but what lesser charge could it be pleaded down to? For the record, I don't see anyone getting jail time over this, but it is a big deal and with the AG's latest comments, I believe an example will be made for all of those 15 involved, not just the current and former NDSU football players.

I have been wondering the same thing for a while. I believe that the Alumni Association would be the contacts to get this done (I think that is how other schools have done it). My guess is your comment about the nickname issue having something to do with it is pretty on point. I don't think getting 50 applicants would be an issue, just need someone to organize it and then someone to cover the organization fee. Again, I think this is a place that the Alumni Association could step in. As for choice, I would be fine with either the interlocking ND or the Academic Seal with the option of being able to add whatever the new logo is at a later date.

Sagarin rankings has SDSU ranked at 80 and UND ranked at 146. Per his ratings, they should be favored about 15 plus 3 more for home field, 18 total. I believe these are to be taken with a grain of salt as things don't start connecting and becoming more accurate for a few more weeks.

The witch hunt is on. At least if you are going to do it, get the person right.

The first one was in May, 2011. I believe I saw somewhere that he might be suspsended for the Prairie View game, which is in line with past punishments, but again, why the third game in the season for something that happened in July? Or is it back to the "day in court (sometimes)" thing again?
-
There was some autographed memorabilia but it couldn't be authenticated...
-
Unless the North Dakota court record system is wrong, there are charges pending so it isn't made up. Pretty impressive you have to bend the truth on something that happened five or six years ago to try and defend your team.
-
So apparently the "day in court" comment has already been proven false per Taylor's comment. Taylor says "it's over", which is weird since they haven't went to court yet. I guess Bohl's comments were just a bunch of hot air used to put everyone at bay for the week. Also can't wait to see the spin on what looks to be one of the starting linebacker's who has two alcohol related offenses since May and has yet to be disciplined along with resisting a police officer charge....I thought there were consequences for those types of violations? Edit - The first one was from May, 2011.

Along with 3 former players. 13 out of 15 related to NDSU football...
-
If they admitted this to investigators (Ojuri and Williams respectively, per the Forum), I would assume they admitted it to Bohl as well. Seems like admission of guilt. Wasn't that the reasoning behind Jemison getting the boot right away? That there was evidence he was most likely guilty? To me, Bohl's "day in court" line holds even less water now. I had heard this made the front page of espn.com earlier. Didn't see that, but it is definitely a top headline on ESPN's college football page.

Well, the charges against Bina were dropped and somewhat strange to begin with. Also, I believe that those were the first strikes for both Oshie and Toews (not saying that they shouldn't have sat out a game or two though).
-
Does the high percentage of those charged raise a little flag in the NCAA's office that maybe they need to do a little more due diligence? It very likely is just how it played out, but when 80% of those charged are related to NDSU's football program it does raise some eyebrows.

And if I were them, I would be concerned about that aspect of it too and hope that someone who has put some serious money into these measures doesn't come looking for any restitution.
-
Once again, if you think that lazy and dumb excuses it or will get them out of it, I think you are severely underestimating how the real world looks at fraud/forgery charges. That is before you bring into the equation that there was a lot of money behind gathering these signatures to get them on the ballot and then advertising purchased for election season that is no longer relevant since they are no longer on the ballot.
-
Maybe. But if there was more to Jemison's issues than what was disclosed, how is it even possible to be sure? And earlier, I shouldn't have lumped you in those who don't think it was a big deal, your post I was responding to just happened to trigger my response. Those who are saying they were being lazy/just college kids/etc are seriously downplaying how this can/will affect these guys in their future. Being lazy is not an excuse for committing fraud or forgery. Whether they knew it or not, it was their responsibility.
-
Whether you think it is a big deal or not, depending on what kind of line of work any of these guys want to go into once they finish college, they are going to find out how big of a deal this was. Once you check that box on an employment application, even being charged with forgery/breach of trust/fraud becomes a pretty big deal and can/will get you disqualified for jobs.

Surprised Kolpack hasn't checked to see if there is any link to this and the verification of votes from last year's coach's poll....
-
I believe the fan guide that went out with tickets had the date listed as Sept 14th but I don't have it in front of me and can't seem to find anywhere to confirm it.
-
Might have interpreted what I heard incorrectly, but I would keep my eyes/ears open tomorrow.

Also of note from the release: Not the best option, but if the past is any indicator, quality should be fairly good.
