  1. That wasn't the question. You are the one changing it. Provide an answer or admit your were wrong.
  2. The questions was about the complete college experience. You are the one who said that many of the finest colleges in the US don't have athletics. You made a false statement and can't back it up. Keep moving the target and pretending you aren't making things up Dave. It wasn't a matter of whether or not it can't be done, it was a matter of you saying that it is done. And based on the info that is out there, it appears that all of the finest colleges in the US do in fact have athletic departments. So unless you can provide an examples of many of the finest colleges in the US not having athletics, I guess there is no way to know... You seem to be the one that won't answer a questions about a statement you made.
  3. No. What I am saying is you claim that many of the finest universities in the US don't offer athletics and you refuse to name any of them. And you keep avoiding answering the question. Not surprising from someone who thinks of only himself.
  4. Getting pretty defensive. You said UND should make a statement and drop athletics and it wouldn't matter because many of the finest colleges in the US don't have athletics in response to my comment that the athletics of a University are part of the college experience. All I asked you to do is back up this statement that you made... So go ahead. Either admit you are wrong or list the colleges you are referring to. Not rocket science by any means. Since it is some of the finest colleges in the country, they should be pretty easy to name them off. I even provided you with the US News list of top colleges.
  5. Dave, why do you keep ignoring my requests to list your examples of top tier schools that don't have athletics? Can't be any reason behind it can there...?
  6. Dave, still waiting for that list of prestigious schools without athletics that you keep touting but fail to identify. As for your other point, going to a school doesn't equal to being a fan. But athletic departments enhance the overall college experience. I've been to many games where I have no rooting interest in either team but go just because I enjoy sports. I know you wouldn't understand that concept, but athletic departmenta are a net gain for colleges.
  7. I asked you to name these top colleges in country without athletic departments and you still haven't. Please list your examples. Athletics are part of the college experience as a whole. Maybe it is something you need to experience to understand. Makes understanding your logic a lot easier.

    New Jerseys

. Well the defense get an advantage from smaller jerseys becasue when they are baggy, the offensive lineman can and do grab a handful of jersey while blocking and it is tough to detect. It isn't a matter of opinion. It is a matter of functionality. Also, you are bad an analogies.

    New Jerseys

For the defense it was. Much easier to grab a handful of jersey as a player went by/through the line.
  10. You forget, it all revolves around selfish Dave. There is no other explanation for his insistence that UND be the Fighting Sioux or the whole athletic department be shut down. This is despite the fact that they have been known as other things in the past. This goes beyond cutting off your nose to spite your face.
  11. I'm glad we can agree on you being selfish. Studies continue to show that strong athletic programs lead to strong universities. Harming the athletic department and putting it on sanctions does not allow it to compete at the highest level it is capable of. That does not reflect well on the University of North Dakota. People advocating for the change care about the University itself, not the jersey's the teams wear or what name is above their score on the scoreboard. Unfortunately that is beyond your selfish needs/wants. Really? Looking through top 50 schools, I didn't see one that doesn't participate in not only sports, but they all appear to sponsor sports in the NCAA at some level. US News Rankings Feel free to double check and ponit out if I missed one, but your point is absolutely incorrect.
  12. Here's the issue: You claim you have priorities/values and values, but in reality, all you are saying is that it is all about DaveK and nothing else. You've made that abundantly clear. It is not what is best for the University of North Dakota, its athletic department or student-athletes. It is about what you want, no matter how selfish that may be (and it is incredibly selfish). The rest of us are looking out for what is best for everyone involved. Sometimes in life you make decisions you don't want to because it is for the greater good. It is unfortunate and very sad that you are so selfish and only concerned about what you want and what you like that you won't allow yourself to see (or care about) the damage your selfishness will cause. The vested interest you claim to have is nothing more than your own selfish interest. It has nothing to do with anything but what you want. I don't hold anyone to a different set of standard than myself. I don't want to lose the nickname/logo, but I would rather lose that than watch the University of North Dakota athletic department be put at a disadvantage and slowly dwindle away. You and your selfishness on the other hand would purposely put UND at a disadvantage just so you can see them wear a certain jersey and be announced a certain way before games, regardless of the known and yet to be known consequences that come with that. That again shows where your priorities lie, whatever is best for yourself.
  13. Yep. I'm voting yes, you're voting no. I'm pro-UND, you're anti-UND. Got it! The sad thing is, I respect and care about the nickname, you can't say the same about UND.

    New Jerseys

I suppose you would rather have bright "scream yellow" jerseys instead.
  15. You don't get what I'm saying, so let me try to dumb it down for you... I do comprehend the difference between the people who want to keep nickname/logo because they think it is important and the people who want to keep the nickname/logo because it will hurt UND. However, and this is the part that seems to be going over your head, I don't care. To me, it doesn't matter what your reason is for wanting to keep the nickname/logo, it only matters that you want to keep it. The people who want to keep the nickname/logo because they think it is important and the people who want to keep the nickname/logo because it will hurt UND want the same thing. Who cares if they want it for different reasons? The fact of the matter is that they want what I very much do not want, so essentially they are the same to me. See how that can work?

    SDSU Jumps In

You're right. They wouldn't even think about bring up UND while celebrating their national champio....errr, never mind.

    SDSU Jumps In

One, the mess to be over and no longer have to hear about it. Two, stop the wasting of tax dollars. Three and more importantly, voting no just empowers the legistlatures control over the SBoHE and that is not good for anyone, especially UND and NDSU. Voting no isn't watching others dig their own grave, it is joining in.

    SDSU Jumps In

But NDSU has been better since 1963. Because that is when Bison football started.
  19. Must have at least crossed his mind otherwise I doubt he'd come all the way up here for the spring game.
  20. I know that this is more than you can comprehend, but there are more than the two sides you can see. I won't bother explaining it to you because it has already be done over and over and over again and whether it is by choice or chance, you just don't get it. I just want your assurance when the right thing is done to protect the University that you uphold your promise and not be a fan anymore. Find a new logo/nickname you like since that is what is of most importance to you.
  21. Just a few more questions... Are you a police officer, judge or lawyer? Or are you just going to go with the trued and tried citizen arrest? And are you going to be trying to charge the NCAA administration or every University president in the NCAA who voted and put in place the policy that the administration is enforcing? Do we need to warn Kelley, Faison, Hakstol, Mussman, Kleinsasser, Lennon, O'Keefe, etc. to watch out because they are going to be in trouble? Thanks in advance.
  22. Close but not quite. I support the college regardless of the nickname. Unlike you I will always support the college. You apparently can only support what is secondary in the equation, the nickname. Unfortunately for you, one can survive without the other and you aren't going to like the answer to that one.
  23. Did I miss something? I don't recall any crime let alone a hate crime being committed. It is unfortunate how you can't see how ridiculous you make yourself look with statements like that.
  24. Well you aren't 50, my guess is closer to 20 so why did you pick the last 50 years other than someone had already done the math. Do you need someone to do the math on the series record during your lifetime for you? (hint, you aren't going to like it) Also, I'm not insinuating that NDSU's national championships aren't impressive, they are. But the fact that the time frame for games against UND always needs to be edited is always amusing.
