Creighton was Drake's head coach. They competed well for not having scholarships.

Very good win for NDSU, not disagreeing on that at all, definitely a game they were the underdog in. But what makes it a "signature win"? I'm honestly curious on how that is defined. Notre Dame isn't even getting a single vote in either of the top 25 polls (Coach's or AP). And the year Notre Dame was a 2 seed, they lost the first weekend, not a real proud moment for them.

I only see maybe one of these guys being a finalist if there is a top 3. Just my opinion though.

Or any sport the two teams have played each other in the last five years for that matter.

When in doubt, move the goalposts.

I believe he tweeted its an unconfirmed rumor at this point unless something happened tonight. Will likely end up being true but not official at this point.

BGSU up 30-27 at half. Schuler with 8 off the bench. Both teams with 11 turnovers.

I don't think it is. But from the sounds of the University hiring process, there will likely have to a handful of candidates interviewed due to qualifications. If someone is applying on the down low, it is possible they don't want their name out for an extended period of time. Maybe they apply "late" during the interview process? Or maybe the new guy is on the list and this process just takes forever due to the amount of applicants they had. Can't imagine they expected there would be this many.

Sounds like Tom Miller will be writing an article today or tomorrow addressing some of this. And while I agree that there has been some work done "off the grid", it won't be advertised much and Faison is well aware of how important of a hire this is.

Yep, what a train wreck. Got UND into the Big Sky and through transition. Helped create a new hockey conference to keep the hockey program from being pulled down by teams with less resources. Negotiated a TV deal for UND that actually pays them money instead of costing them money. Found a home for the baseball team.

Why would DeBoer make a lateral move?
-
I would be very curious to hear their reasoning and solution behind the comment that it "doesn't have to be done this way" despite saying that state law is involved.
-
Pretty much what I was inferring. I think Vigen is going with Bohl, he has remained as one of the few constants on his staff.

This application was submitted. Worth a read. https://www.dropbox....kota-resume.pdf

I would love to see what happens if Taylor was to circumnavigate the system. You don't think there are people waiting for him and NDSU to throw another middle finger towards the legislature and SBoHE for not following processes/procedures/laws/etc. Steam keeps gaining that it will be one of the cooridnators staying so it is likely a moot point but if not, he isn't going to get around the process.
-
Is he actually staying on as OC though?
-
I think are people just as qualified as him. You keep discounting the baggage (real or perceived) that he will come with as well and if you think Faison is going to not take that into account you're crazy. I get your Griz buddies are sold on him but before his semi-final run his last year, there were a lot of fans not sold on him. Just for the record, I think he's a good candidate, I just think there are other ones as well and won't be all that surprised if he isn't hired.

From the way things are shaking out and from what the Herald guys have mentioned, my take is that Faison is still trying to get his guy to apply and there is either an issue with the salary (fixable) or there is another committment they need to take care of (timing). All the stuff about point system and what not is required by law but will not be final determining factor. It is there so that bozo's like the FU sandwich artist get their applications tossed. Being a state institution, all qualified applicants deserve to get their names looked at. Very frustrating situation, especially for the fans since we can't see what is going on behind closed doors. If you think Pflugard is the only decent name on the list, you should probably look it over again.

So that is what minimum means huh? Who would have thought...
-
Unless the coach has some other obligation, I can't figure it out either. And I can't figure out what that obligation would be?
-
Well how is that going to work when gfhockey said the new coach will be announced tomorrow morning?
-
You going on record saying that is what will be announced tomorrow morning?
-
Not per Dan Corey's list (WDAZ). 71 applicants as of last update. Likely be quite a pay cut.
-
Me either, just throwing out a possibility. Agree that it would be odd for Faison to not have it posted externally as soon as possible due to the minimum posting requirements.

Michael Bath still remains an interesting candidate. Doesn't quite check all the boxes and UND would likely be a stepping stone back to FBS for him, but he's intriguing. That being said, his record as an interim coach at Miami (OH) was not good.
