UND can't do anything right. MSU hitting all kinds of shots and grabbing boards when they do. UND looks nothing like they have the last month. MSU getting lax and UND is making a min-run to try and make it interesting....

Looking forward to your son doing some special things on the football field as well. Hope you enjoy your trips up here.

My understanding is as long as he doesn't appear in any game action, he doesn't burn a year of eligibility regardless of traveling/dressing/etc. And not saying that he will be a star in 5 years, but finding someone willing to properly fill that 3rd goalie role can be tough at times. Not sure what the staff's plan for him is at this point, but if Zane is close to coming back, I can't see the purpose of burning a year of eligibility for 10 minutes in a game that was out of reach. I think it is comparable to football where certain red-shirted players dress for games, but as long as they don't play, it doens't count against them. Two years ago in football, UND was one QB injury away from having to burn a red-shirt, with the player on the sidelines ready to go if necessary, but it never happened and the player retained his redshirt status.

Don't necessarily disagree, but worth burning his redshirt over?

Forgot about that. Was wondering why the start times were kind of odd. Makes a lot more sense now.

It looks like last year the games times last year in Missoula were as follows: Quarterfinals on Wednesday: 3pm, 5:30pm and 8pm Semifinals on Friday: 11am and 1:30pm Finals on Saturday: 2pm Doesn't look like that would interefere with hockey. Guessing there is no TV issues to be concerned about so they could move the times around if needed as well.

Are you getting confused because the SFI insider guys have put up 7 profiles of commits since signing day? They weren't able to get the profiles of all the players up before NLI day, especially since there were a lot of very late committments. They are still in catch-up mode from the late rush with information on the new guys. Edit: Also want to make it very clear that I'm not criticizing the SFI guys at all and hope that by saying they are in catch-up mode it doesn't come across like that. With the turnover, different area of focuses by the new staff and the amount of late committments, there was no way to stay 100% caught up. They do an amazing job and their work is very much appreciated by many here.

It was reported earlier in the thread that the new staff was not recruiting Hines. No idea on who else may be on campus this weekend, but I'm guessing they will be bringing them to the hockey and basketball games. Hambone, the bat signal has been put out...

I've always thought the 32nd Ave location had the best selection. Haven't ever checked out the EGF store. Seems like a timing issue sometimes, which makes sense with the buying patterns of things like that around here plus taking into account the location and time it takes to get fresh produce to a place like Grand Forks, but I've never personally felt that any place in town was head and shoulders above the rest and Hugu's usually seems to have what I need.

Correct. That is some seriously incorrect data. Also, 2001-2002 was the year the new REA opened not the last year of the Old REA. Per the UND Media guide, attendance in 2001-2002 was 11,456/game. Can't find any figures for the last year of the Old REA other than box scores which list all the home games as a sell-out at 6,067. Not sure how accurate that is. Edit: The stat sheet for 2000-2001 season show that there were 19 home games with an average attendance of 5,885 for the year.

Don't think there would be a whole lot of difference in the 2 or 3 seed at this point, but one of those would be ideal. Would be nice to avoid the match-up with Weber until the championship game.

No need to bother, it appears he is on vacation again.

Why? If they fund hockey at the D-1 level and participate in the postseason tournament, what does it have to do with the rest of their athletic department? I should have pointed out that the 6 Ivy League hockey schools don't offer scholarships but do participate in the playoffs. And on the FCS side in the Patriot League, 6 of the 7 schools just started offering scholarships in 2012.

Before the 2013 season started, Kuper was due to make $4.5 million but it was not guaranteed. Becuase of his injury and it wasn't known how much he would play, he renegotiated his 2013 contract to remain on the team. For 2013, he was guaranteed $1.05 million with another $1.7 million in game/playing bonuses. He still has unguaranteed amounts of $5 million and $5.5 million remaining for 2014 and 2015 which I would guess will get renegotiated as well.

I agree a lot with the comparison. One thing to point out, the FCS isn't exactly a balanced field in terms of funding/participation across the board. The FCS has one league that doens't offer athletic scholarship (Pioneer League - 12 teams) and two that don't participate in the playoffs (Ivy League - 8 teams and SWAC - 10 teams). Approximately 25% of the sub-division has no interest or chance at the championship yet are still considered on the same level as the rest of the teams.

Is not taking a job you're not offered along the same lines of not losing a kid because you pull his offer when you find out they are committing elsewhere? Just trying to follow your logic.

You missed a few of his other alter egos so I helped you out. -
Just want to point out, the last time the Summit (Mid-Con) League got a 12 seed, its membership was: Valpo Buffalo WIU Troy State Northeastern Illinois UMKC Chicago State Central Connecticut St YSU
-
You said the committee chairman stated Oral Roberts was the first team left out of the field in 2012. That's false. They were one of six teams in the conversation for a spot that never even materialized. Quite a big difference. And while i don't think it is ridiculous to think that the Summit will get a 12 seed at some point, I'm curious when it has happened before? For sure not in the last decade. Edit: Valpo of the Mid-Continent Conference was a 12 seed in 1997.
-
But you are the one pounding your chest about almost getting a hypothetical spot, while managing to leave out the correct details of the story. Moral victory!
-
Except that isn't what actually happened. They would have been one of 6 teams considered for the last spot that never ended up existing. They showed the committee wrong by getting bounced in the first round of the NIT by Nevada on their way out of the Summit.
-
Yet you and him are the ones who have been put in multiple timeouts. You just seem to keep ignoring yours which are supposed to be permanent.
-
Next they'll be telling you their football coach would only leave for a B1G or Big 12 job, BCS auto-qualifying conference at minimum.

Capacity for the Fargodome is 19,000. Including playoff games, attendance was 98% of capacity. The only game that actually topped 19,000 was homecoming, though the first two were very close to reaching that threshold. Once NDSU starts putting a donation requirement on all season tickets, then it will be a valid comparison of season ticket holders and demand.
