The list came from an open records request and is the actual list of candidates who have applied thus far. And because the list will continuously be requested, that is why everyone is confident the majority of serious candidates will not actually apply until very close to the position closing date.

My thought is McFeely doesn't have anything to rile up the NDSU faithful about this week (yet), so he's looking to a different place for a reaction. He's not as dumb as he comes off sometimes, reactions to his statements pay his bills.

I believe UND has/had interest in Rayshawn Tiller, Jr out of Jacksonville, FL though not sure what to make of it at this point.
-
0-3 against UND in his Western Washington head coaching days.
-
He is also a Youngstown State alum which I'd guess is his tie-in to Tressel and Ohio State.
-
Agree on that, but just for fun, the two most interesting ones to me just from the information provided are: -Nicholas Siciliano, (most recent job) offensive assistant coach with Cincinnati Bengals (also was quarterbacks coach at Ohio State from 2005-2012) -Jamie Marshall, (current job) assistant head coach/defensive coordinator at Montana State Haven't looked to see what others have for experience in their background. Hopefully there are some with a decent resume other than their current jobs, otherwise some of those guys are going waaaaaay out on a limb.

Usually only in circumstances where the program has been placed under sanctions or there were serious issues with what was going on within the program. I can't see any waivers like that being granted in this case. The coach was fired, same thing that happens at multiple schools every year. All players will have to sit out a year if they transfer within the FCS or to an FBS school, they will be eligible to play immediately if they transfer down. For example: Cole Stefan for the MBB team got a waiver to play this year, but he had to petition for it due to some issues with the UW-GB coach (5 players left the team this spring). The waiver was not granted up front and he just received it last week. In the case of Penn State (which has absolutely zero in common with happened at UND) the NCAA said that all players were eligble to transfer and play immediately without sitting out due to the sanctions handed down.

I agree on letting it play out, but looking back at the poster's past information, it has been pretty accurate.
-
Interesting if true. He already used his redshirt year up meaning if he transfers to a FCS or FBS school he has to sit out next season (junior year) and would then only have one year to play. Really worth giving up one of your last two years of eligibility to sit out? I'm still holding out that it might not be true, but it looks like Sioux10Fan has been pretty accurate in the past. I'm more concerned about some of the younger guys who would have 2-3 years left in another place if they transferred or players that haven't used their redshirt years yet.

What are you talking about? Bison Dan is here continuously lecturing on these things. Though now that you mention it, he has been pretty quiet about it lately...
-
I believe that over 1,700 tickets have already been sold for SDSU (next D-1 home game), that should easily top 2,000.

Nice e-mail sent out by UND athletics to encourage fans to come out to more games this year:
-
It was down to 29 after one was removed from the premises...
-
Agree completely with this.

If my math is correct, the MVFC went 19-18 in OOC play. Take out FBS (2-10) and D-2 games (5-0), their record OOC against FCS is 12-8. Take out Pioneer league games (4-0, non-scholarship) and their OOC record is 8-8. Don't think I missed any, but was just a quick look so I may have. 2-0 vs the MEAC (NDSU over Delaware St, WIU over Hampton) 1-3 vs the OVC (SIU over SEMO St, ISUr and SIU losses to EIU, MSU loss to Murray St) 3-2 vs the Big Sky (SDSU over UND, UNI over UNC, USD with a win over UC Davis and losses to NAU and UM) 2-3 vs the Southland (SDSU over SELO, UNI over McNeese St, MSU with losses to Northwestern St and UCA, ISUb loss to Tennesee Tech)
-
I don't disagree at all. Just find it amusing when it when they lose a close game to Montana in Vermillion, which is a tough place to play, USD is all of the sudden bad team even though they had close games with the MVFC teams that were supposedly left out.
-
So USD is no good, but lost by 7 to UNI and 4 to Youngstown, the two MVFC that were supposedly left out? I'm confused.

One thing that was a concern was how easy Braun was able to get to the basket when it was obvious that was all they were going to do for a stretch. The coaches were calling for a certain defense to prevent it and it worked a couple times, but seems that he got there more often than not. He's one of the better individual players we'll see this year but there are a handful in the Big Sky that measure up. I concur on Shay being an active coach, thought he was going to have an aneurysm a few times. Disagree on Jones being stoic though. He's intense, just not as loud as Shay is.

Interesting tidbit, one of NDSU's true freshman made his season debut late in the game last night. Don't know if the plan was to pull his redshirt all along, but surprised he hadn't seen any minutes up to this point in the year.
-
Good point. With UND's depth in the frontcourt and athleticism in the backcourt, Jones has built a solid team that should benefit from the new rules.
-
I was surprised they didn't go to Bjorklund more. It seems like he only has one move (couple fakes followed be rolling to the middle of the lane) but he's efficient and UND wasn't doing that great stopping him. In the second half, Braun had no intention of passing the ball. Was surprised to see Huff didn't guard him all that much, he seemed to shut him down pretty well two years ago. Possibly an adjustment to keep Huff from picking up quick fouls? Was pretty evident considering Braun was well into double digit points before he made his first shot from the field.

UND put up more yards than every MVFC team did on SDSU (and outgained SDSU for the game) and more points in regulation than all but one. I'll give you the TOP battle (significantly) and turnovers (3-0). And they won by 7.

I believe tonight's win was number 1500 for the program if I read the prospectus correctly. Fitting way to get it

They have a home/home scheduled for next year in Fargo and I believe the year after at WaGriz.
