  1. Are you expecting to see a few new applications today?
  2. If it was an FBS coordinator, I don't think that would be an issue. And there are only 8 FCS teams remaining and I'm not sure if any of those coaches would be it, though maybe there is a coordinator or something?
  3. Your watchmaker/CharliePic/almostheavenin2011 is showing...
  4. Why did you leave out the very next sentence? Too inconvenient for your argument? By that time, Orpik had already stepped up to smoke Eriksson. He stayed low. He kept his skates on the ice and his elbows in. He drove his right shoulder into Eriksson's chest, not Eriksson's head. It could have been a minor penalty for interference because the puck wasn't there, but it wasn't worthy of supplemental discipline. Seriously. It was literally the next sentence from what you cut and pasted. The writer clearly states "the puck wasn't there". Not sure how you can deny that he doesn't think that? Checkmate!
  5. Don't care one way or another, but I see a guy leaving his feet and targeting the head, at least from that angle. And while the puck may have been near him, I don't know if he ever saw it coming and he for sure never had control of it. Amusing things about the article you posted: -Slew footing is mentioned -The writer also says that Neal's knee was dirty and he deserved more than 5 games and "he clearly intedned to injure Marchand and that he has a history of this type of thing. Five games wouldn't be enough" -The writer says the puck wasn't there Seems to me you are trying to cherry pick from the article to prove you point while skipping over the parts that are inconvenient for your arguments.
  6. Is he close to having a shot at an FBS job anytime soon or would his best bet be to get one at the FCS level?
  7. So who's the guy with deep UND ties that the SfI guys referenced this morning? None of the official applicants from today for that bill. They get an inside tip and the application didn't get in today?
  8. That's Kolpack's wishlist. Half of those guys are not realistic possibilities and would end up taking a pay cut to come to NDSU. Similar to a few lists that came out shortly after Mussman was let go.
  9. Cal Poly's OC, Saga Tuitele, has applied. I assume his offense comes with him...
  10. Tom Miller reports Jeff Mills, former DC at New Mexico has applied as well. Resume below. Becomes one of the more experienced candidates, though no head coaching experience.
  11. Are you talking about the charges against him that were dismissed because it was ridiculous to begin with? That the judge said should have never been filed? Not saying he's a top candidate, but significantly better than a lot that have applied.
  12. Former Mankato coach Todd Hoffner has applied per WDAZ. Has some distant ties to UND, was a Grad Asst Coach, I assume while he got his master's here.
  13. I would think that people will be able to figure out who the finalists will be based on applications that come in today or tomorrow in addition to who has already applied. The Herald and KFGO have been requesting the applicants daily and mentioning at minimum the interesting ones.
  14. Finalist list wouldn't be able to be released until Wednesday at the earliest no matter who would apply. It been speculated all along that some of the favorites weren't likely to put in their applications until a day or two before the deadline.
  15. Wasn't the position posted within a day or two of Mussman being let go? I'm also pretty confident that Faison had known for at least a week or two that Mussman would be gone, guessing he had done his due diligence on who might have been interested in that time frame as well. Very curious on the "emergency hire" that GT referenced. While I understand the thought process behind it, I can't find anywhere the details when or how it is able to be used. I'd assume they would need some sort of OK from the state or SBoHE to do it and also as homer referenced, a waiver from the NCAA to have that many coaches on staff. Would the NCAA be willing to grant a waiver with the dead period in recruiting coming up?
  16. That's strange. Wayne Nelson at 1:30 today: Wayne Nelson‏@waynenelsongf 11m As of noon Monday, four new UND FB applicants received; still no local flavor #undfb
  17. GT goes on Joel Heitkamp's show this morning to discuss the situation and somehow Heitkamp ends bad mouthing Hakstol? Didn't hear it myself, curious if anyone else did?
  18. I was under the assumption he had applied. If not, then disregard.
  19. I'm sure they were real happy with him after SHSU ran for 400 yards on them 2 years ago as well...
  20. Jeff Mills. Reports say it is unclear whether he was fired or resigned. Interesting (edit - from NM, not NMSU where Faison was). No NFL or head coaching experience. Here's his coaching history. Not sold on him at first glance, possibly just a coincidence. Edit: Faison's connection is with NMSU. Their DC, Dave Elson was fired. His resume is below. As others poitned out, Faison was at UND before Elson started at NMSU. Don't see him being a candidate.
  21. I expect to see some new and interesting names by end of day today. I have a feeling there will be a few surprises but in a good way.
  22. Reality and perception are unfortunately two different things. I still think the new coach has yet to apply.
