I think you are right on. For that reason I don't think just North Dakota is going to happen.

I am all in on Roughriders. It is growing on me. By far the best choice. Not even close. It would be fun to market.

I am all in for using Roughriders. It definitely would represent the state of North Dakota far better than any other name suggested. It could be very colorful. I think it would offer a lot to work with for marketing.

I agree. The only negative is the local high school uses that name. In spite of that it is by far the best option. Go with it. Other than some Red River Grads the rest of the country will love it.(Maybe some of those Grads will still like it).

What does the hmmm mean? . Are you implying unrest in the program or the new coach wants him own players, or that he is able to bring in even better players with the contacts he has? What do you mean?

It sure is quiet on the Baker and McKinley recruiting front. Are they still in the picture?

I was under the impression we might be looking for a couple of transfers with our need being DB's, DL's, or maybe receivers. Did that change or just that we never able to find someone in those positions?

I was talking about UND winning by 10 to 14 points.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that if the game was a 10 or 14 point difference, one fan base would be thrilled and one fan base would be crushed and would disappear from websites and talk shows for quite a while.

I sort of thought it would hit a nerve Dan. It will be fun watching NDSU squirm though. I am sure they will avoid any lengthy talk or justification. They will continue to talk in circles.

The NDSU administration without coming out and saying it just revealed who they consider their number one rival is. They sure have blown a lot of hot air over they years. Remember all the times they said they couldn't schedule UND because they couldn't afford to give up a home game every other year. Then they proceeded to pay other D2 and low D1 schools maybe 200,000 or so to fill that game at home. The absolute hypocrisy was when NDSU scheduled 3 home and away games with Big Sky teams. All along they were told they wouldn't have to lose any money to get their #1 rival back on the schedule. They didn't believe that it could be done(or they said). To pay for the game every other year in Grand Forks it would involve no travel expenses, no absorbent fees to bring a team to Fargo, and they could probably double the prices of the tickets when UND comes to town. The marketability of the NDSU/UND for radio and television plus the fan interest has a price tag that you can't even put a price on. The game should never been stopped. That was a mistake. That mistake was made years and years ago. NDSU in their supreme arrogance has a lot of egg on their face right now by revealing the price for the NDSU/ UND game. It absolutely shows the mistakes NDSU has made for many years. And yet NDSU is unwilling to come to Grand Forks to play the game. I think it is an absolute fear that what if they lost the game. All I can say is when the bottom line is revealed it is a very sad commentary to the pompous administration in Fargo. It far and away trumps the mistake made by UND a long long time ago by about "tenfold". It really is sad what the state of North Dakota was deprived of for a lot more years than was necessary. What if be gave them a game next year. Stuff can happen in football. Unlikely but you never know. They will never come to Grand Forks either way.Too much risk for them. They will just continue to go on the road to play who knows who.

Does this signing have any bearing on whether we still want or would have room for McKinley or Baker? If we still have room for those two what would the appearance of our roster be by class? So many things happening I can't keep it straight. Are DeRouen and Tyler for sure gone?

He is a 2Star recruit. What is the scoop? Maybe he decided he didn't want the military commitment. Is he eligible next year and is he graduating high school this Spring? All of a sudden our program is a recruiting machine.

It is getting a little old when every year in our last game either in a Regional or at the Frozen Four the announcers end up saying that UND outplayed the other team but lost.

This whole deal does seem a little ironic. You would have to believe they know each other and maybe well. They are only a year difference and McKinley just happened to have committed to Albany where Baker is at. They are both from the Minneapolis area. You have to believe it is going to be a package deal. With Hooker and some of the other star recruits we have coming it won't hurt our chances. I am sure these players are well aware of the talent coming to UND. They just might want to jump on board. Let's cross our fingers. This would be VERY exciting if it ever happened.

Whether you like Jones or not , if we are able to land Wheeler we would have one heck of a group of players coming in next year. It will sure be fun to see how everything unfolds.

For rankings go to 5 state hoops

Rankings came out for the top 200 girls basketball players for the class 2015 for the 5 state area(North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa). All 6 of our recruits are ranked. Klabo(28), Freiji(34), Haas(43), Morton(50), Ascuncion(61), and Boike(77). Looks like a nice class. USD has 1(24) on the list. SDSU has 4 on the list(7), (36), (48), and (69). NDSU has 1(24) on the list.

All things considered, Billings wouldn't be a bad location for UND fans. Definitely driveable.

Has UND put a roster out for Spring football?

Judging by the general reactions of people the order of priorities is (1) win games (2) Play the other 3 Dakota schools (3) play the Montana schools (4) the ultimate situation would be to win games and play the schools from Dakota and Montana all the time. In other words be in the same conference with everyone else and win. Maybe some day it will happen.

I think we had better wait and see who is leaving and the reason they are leaving. Maybe Jones realizes these players aren't good enough and he is cleaning house to save his own job. We have some very good players coming for next year and maybe he knows he can get some other good players for next year to sign on and he is making room for them. Whatever is going on I think it will become apparent in the very near future.

Once again more talk about a couple of schools (Indiana schools) potentially leaving the Summit. Would UND consider joining the Summit if the MVFC made an offer to UND for football as well? What does everyone think?

I am not sure, but wasn't the deal with that he just wasn't good enough?
