I am going to guess around 7000.

I wonder why Sharp wasn't given a chance at RB. Is her hurt too? For the most part I am encouraged by our defense. Too many turnovers and short fields for the defense. They spent too much time on the field because we had no offense.

Don't count on beating Missouri State . Ain't going to happen.

Doesn't it seem like with have a ridiculously large number of bison fans posting on every topic on this website. It really looks like they spend all their time here when you would think they would be on their own website most of the time. They really are obsessed with UND. It is really becoming difficult carrying on a conversation without having the bison fans sidetracking the conversation.

I have this feeling that people might be expecting too much for tomorrow night. The reality is that if UND even stayed reasonably close in this game it would very surprising. UND was not good last year. They are going to be playing with a lot of new players. They are going to be playing with quite a few true freshmen. This is the first game of the year, one the road, at an FBS location. This has a recipe for a tough evening. Things mike get a lot better as the season goes on, but unfortunately tomorrow might be not go as good as we all might want it go. Some of our players might be a little wide eyed. I hope I am wrong.

If NDSU insists the first 2 have to be in Fargo than the contract better include a 3rd game in Grand Forks . The buyout on that 3rd game better be a million or more because I don't think NDSU has any intention of ever returning to Grand Forks. The only reason they will keep playing us in other sports is we beat them in all the sports we play them and therefore they aren't going to end the series with UND beating them. Since we are dominating them when we do play them in sports, maybe we should demand that we will only play them in Grand Forks now. See how they like it.

It has nothing to do with NDSU playing EWU. Their fans are thrilled to play EWU. We play EWU all the time so that is not a big deal. It is has more to do with making all the excuses over the years given by NDSU look less than credible. The bottom line is it sure good to see Bison fans excited to play the BSC. It is definitely a premier conference. It is where NDSU wanted to be.

Nobody is saying he doesn't have a wonderful legacy in a lot of areas, but to a large group of people they will remember his weaknesses and the shortcomings he showed too. He will definitely be remembered for the childlike actions he displayed too. Just remember. Boys will be boys.

Gene Taylor will go down in history as the administrator who was afraid to take his football team to Grand Forks. He was so afraid to sign a deal for a game at UND that he ended up looking phony. He talked in circles so many times about why he could never get the game scheduled that he just kept looking more ridiculous all the time. A person could write a book about all the different reasons why the game didn't happen. The only problem was for every reason he said the game didn't happen he did just the contrary with another school. Definitely a black mark on his legacy. It is sad when hatred affects your ability to make wise decisions for what most of the people of North Dakota want.

Was Slaight an academic issue or did he just decide to not come?
-
What were the reasons for Slaight and Hannible being no- shows? Might they still be coming at a later date or are they history?

It does seem like a lot of lost revenue for NDSU to have the UND/NDSU women's and men's basketball games as a doubleheader in Fargo. Since no one goes to the normal women's games at NDSU, I suppose NDSU was afraid of what the low turnout of NDSU fans would look like if the women's game was by itself. NDSU did used to have a loyal following for their women's team.

It says deRouen signed a grant-in aid agreement. What is that?

Welcome to the UND family. We have a great sports tradition and a very strong football tradition. We are coming off a tough year but changes were made and I think the ship is back on course. Our tailgating is atmosphere is usually really exciting. I think your son is going to enjoy himself. He is going to be one of the leaders in getting the team in the playoffs in the near future. Our new coach is of very high integrity and your son is in good hands. Welcome aboard.

I think Faison should give Taylor one last chance to resume the rivalry with a first game in Fargo as soon as NDSU wants it, and at least get a date in writing for a return game in Grand Forks . We need to finish our schedules. And in fairness to NDSU they have a lot of games to finish on their schedules and I am sure they will need quite a bit of time to finish their schedules since they are tougher to fill than ours. It is definitely time to move on for UND. NDSU had their chance. At least UND can continue to beat NDSU in the rest of the sports for the time being. Football will have to wait.

The Weber State debacle just confirmed the fact that all the negotiations between UND and NDSU previous to that were a sham. GT never ever intended to schedule UND and all excuses he gave were a bunch of BS.
-
I didn't realize that softball was a major issue with most. NDSU must average about 13 people for their 3 or 4 home games each year. We need to get that softball issue taken care of before we get to football. It is to bad we aren't playing NDSU in softball. UND beats NDSU in every sport we play them in. Bring it on.

You are right, GT holds all the cards if the game is only to be played in Fargo. Likewise Faison holds all the cards if the game is only to be played in Grand Forks. Rivalry games involve 2 teams. I am quite confident both schools would want to host a game . Faison is the only one willing to play a game at both sites. So I agree the only way the game gets played would be in the playoffs. It is too bad GT isn't willing to have a true negotiation. At one time GT said he was negotiating, but as we later found out it was just hot air and backed out of the agreement. UND doesn't seem to have any problem filling their schedule right now. NDSU is the one that seems to have trouble getting home games. It certainly would appear NDSU holds less cards that they think they do. That is why NDSU has paid a lot of money to have low profile teams come play in Fargo the last few years to play non conference games. NDSU doesn't feel playing the UND game is important. A lot of people in the state will continue to disagree with GT.

Gene Taylor does not want to play the game. You can do all the talking you want and give all the excuses you want, but the fact is the game is not happening for one reason only. It is spite. We wouldn't play the game in 2004 and he will go to his grave angry at UND . All the players in that situation 12 years ago are long gone. It is time for Gene Taylor to grow up and do his job as a mature adult. Gene needs to be put in timeout. If Gene wanted the game to happen it would be on the schedule in a heartbeat.
-
So basically NDSU has said they will not play a game in Grand Forks. The only offer NDSU will accept is a game only in Fargo. Gene Taylor is proposing something that will never happen and he knows that. In other words there is no negotiation. The result is Gene Taylor will just have to live with all the bad press he will receive. The resistance he is displaying to resume the rivalry will have consequences in the lasting image people will have of him long after he is gone. The rivalry that has taken place between the two schools for decades has a special spot in the hearts of a lot of North Dakotans. That endured rivalry doesn't deserve to be held just in Fargo. UND has won more games between the schools when they have played so maybe the game should be played only in Grand Forks. Of course that would not be right. The game belongs to both schools and all the people of North Dakota.
-
Does anyone know the years that schools can play a 12 game schedule?
-
The bottom line to this whole issue is, the reason the game doesn't happen has nothing to do with the profitability to a school or lack of profitability, the open dates on the calendars of either school, or how good either team is or isn't. The only reason this game isn't being played is NDSU and Gene Taylor don't want to play the game. Any other reasons for not playing the game are all baloney.
-
Believe it or not. NDSU is afraid to play UND. It would appear that NDSU would have no problem with UND, but goofy stuff can happen in football though. Gene Taylor is not willing to take any risk of that happening. If they lost to UND heads would spin in Fargo. His biggest fear is that by the time the game was in Grand Forks, UND will be a lot better and UND might not need any fortunate bounces to win. NDSU fans will scoff at my theory, but the fear of what might remotely happen has him going on the road to Weber State and not coming to Grand Forks. Meanwhile GT will keep coming up with varying excuses why they can't play UND.

It is probably because those schools just happen to be playing the Montana schools.
