JPL has a great shot at getting Defensive POTW. Duncan has an outside shot at Offensive POTW with his 2g, 1a tonight. Probably get a honorable mention. Bozak from DU could get the Rookie of the Week. Great series for him.

Done for the year...as in the year 2007 (another month), or done for the season? It would really suck to lose Chay for the whole season, he's such a versatile playmaker from both the blueline or at forward.
-
Nevermind, he's out there now.

Any word on Oshie from those listening to TH?

At least you aren't overreacting at all.

I would love to see Duncan get a couple goals and get rolling this season.

Not only everything about Sioux sports, but Kalker also knows all about GF HS athletics. He is like Rainman. He might not be able to tie his own shoes (velcro), but he could tell you who won the 1976 ND State HS Football champs, what the score was, and how many yards the running back had for the winning team. My two favorite Kalk and Gretzky stories: When they biked out to the airport in below 0 temps to greet the national champ Sioux hockey team when their flight came in. When the Boys Ranch came to Kalk's house for donations and Gretzky gave them Kalk's TV, so Kalk duct taped Gretzky to a chair.

She's just biased because she's partly a DU fan. But the Pios have a strong enough team that picking them to sweep us isn't completely out of the question. And I agree about PCM and Brad. PCM's interview on FSSN was breathtaking. I watch it each night before going to bed to give me pleasant dreams. Brad's blog rules, even more so now that he is moderating comments.

Kalker and Gretzky rule. Gretzky used to show up in his snowmobile suit to play hockey with us at the Lake Agassiz outdoor rink. Good times. They come from a mythical land. We don't play the Gophers this weekend, we play the Pioneers from Denver.

Two? JPL Walski Snider

The easiest losses to pick for both of these teams is their NCAA Regional Final games.

I'm pretty sure that I've seen you post this exact same sentence for the last 3 years. Relax a bit...

Great post.

This is a horrible thread. Lammy isn't the problem. Consistency is the problem. The Sioux need to find a way to string together some good games in a row. They're not going to win the WCHA getting splits each weekend. Right now I'm just hoping that they can get 3rd place in the league...as it appears that CC and DU are the teams to beat thus far. Next weekend, heading to DU I just hope that they can manage a split.

3min left, and you're already calling it? Quite the fan.

Something about ________, evidently it was pretty ______. But no one knew about ______, so they were happy when they announced that ______.
-
We do? We already have the advantage over MSU this year.

Who peed in your cereal this morning?

Mine's working fine.

What looks like an impressive win for SCSU was really just a bad game for Clarkson's goalie: SOG were 33-13 in favor of Clarkson.
-
Brett requested to be traded the first time, and this time it sounds like one team needed a center and the other needed a dman, so it worked out.
-
Wow, great start indeed for Gregoire. Why do I get the feeling that DU is really going to regret losing him to UND? I can't wait to see him suit up for the Sioux next year.

Wisco has played 7 games against good competition (Notre Dame and the WCHA schools). They have played 3 games against cupcakes (Ohio State and Robert Morris). Turris against cupcakes: 4g, 7a for 11 points in 3 games (3.67 ppg) Turris against good teams: 1g, 3a for 4 points in 7 games (0.57 ppg) Ouch.

I agree that Oshie, Chorney, and Finley are gone after this year. And if VV or Kozek really light it up, one of them could sign too. But a part of me thinks that there is a chance that Duncan comes back for his Senior year. It probably won't happen, but of those players above, he is the most likely to stay I would say. Of these 19 forwards: Ryan Martens Andrew Kozek Darcy Zajac Brad Miller Brent Davidson Michael Forney Evan Trupp Matt Watkins Matt Frattin Brad Malone Chris VandeVelde Brett Bruneteau Mike Cichy Brett Hextall Mario Lamoureux David Toews Jason Gregoire T.J. Oshie Ryan Duncan With Oshie gone for sure, that brings us to 18. Wow. Pick 6 from the list above to sit each night. That's crazy. Even if Duncan leaves, I think we could still see some player shifting...maybe Davidson not on the team or Forney going to the USHL for a year or something like Fylling did. Hard to say. There is definitely going to be some competition for playing time at forward!
