  1. I'll agree as well. No actual posts come out of State Of Hockey. Just a bunch of trolling.
  2. I heard somewhere that Toews' mom is a teacher, and they are also focused on him getting a college education. So WHL would seem like an illogical choice for him. That would also explain why he stayed at SSM instead of going to the USHL. I would say that there is a great chance that he will go the college route, we just have to hope that he ends up playing for the Sioux.
  3. Would be nice to see him turn into a Jeff Panzer-type player. Thanks as always, PCM.
  4. I agree. This team has the talent, and one of these games, they will break out, and we will hopefully see the Sioux team that we are used to seeing on the ice.
  5. The lake that is said never gives up her dead. Went to the Edmund Fitzgerald marine museum last year when I was visiting a friend that used to live in the Soo.
  6. Sucks that the NCAA had to schedule both NCC teams against each other in the first round game, otherwise we may still have two NCC teams going for all the marbles. But I understand that the regional rankings worked out that way. I would also like to see UND/GVSU at the Al.
  7. These guys don't seem to have a problem playing for an "unproven coach that is losing games": Andrew Kozek-LC (10/1/04) Surrey (BCHL) 5'11 175 6-8-86 58-19-22-41-67 Matt Watkins-LC (9/26/04) Vernon (BCHL) 5'10 175 11-22-86 2004 SMHL Zach Jones-RD (7/26/04) USNDPT U-18 Team 5'11 175 1-14-87 Chris Vandevelde-LW (6/8/04) Moorhead 6'2 180 3-15-87 (for 2006) Brad Miller-LW (3/12/04) Green Bay (USHL) 5'10 170 1-31-86 T.J. Oshie-LC (2/5/04) Warroad 5'10 165 12-23-86 Brian Lee-RD (2/3/04) Moorhead 6'2 180 3-27-87 2004 USA U-18 team; Ryan Duncan-RW (12/18/03) Salmon Arm (BCHL) 5'6 155 7-14-85 Taylor Chorney-LD (10/23/03) Shattuck St.Marys 5'10 170 4-27-87 2004 Keep in mind that alot of them commited with Hakstol as the head coach of the Sioux.
  8. A Sioux fan with common sense. Nice to see these days. I agree.
  9. Wow, I guess you are right. Hakstol is the element that is driving this Sioux team on an unrecoverable downward spiral. The team will never be the same, the program will never win another game, let alone another championship. So we should hire another coach for you to complain about and call for their firing. I stand by my team, through thick and thin. I will agree that their record could be better thus far, but I see potential in this team. I also will critisize when I get frustrated with the team, but you are going to another level with your complaining. It is November. If I recall, championships aren't won or lost for another 5 months. That's alot of hockey to be played.
  10. For the second time, Hakstol did most of the recruiting even when Blais was head coach. And about Kessel, he has pretty much always had the same teams on his list: BC, BU, Minnie, Mich, and Wisco. UND was never listed as a possible school in any of the articles that I saw.
  11. Yep, you have some problems. Yes, this is a dangerous Sioux team, but fairweather fans such as yourself don't realize the potential that they show. No, I didn't make it sound as if I was happy that we should be happy with their scoring right now. You are good at trying to put words in people's mouths. I said that the players that we have are in different roles than last year. Look at Rory. He was a defensive forward, face-off specialist the last few years, but now he has to change his game to become more offensive-oriented. This takes time. I get the feeling that you are not a Sioux fan, rather just a fan of an opposing team that is on here just trying to strike fear into the average Sioux fan. Go back to your teams' message board and leave the real Sioux fans here in peace.

    Oh brother

Quick, someone get one of Lammy's brothers on this team, ASAP!
  13. For being such a BLAIS lover, you still have trouble spelling BLAIS. Hakstol took over a winning team that lost alot of talent. The guys that are here now were thrust into leader and scoring roles this year, and they are not used to that. They will get used to their roles, and this team will still be dangerous. With Hakstol as the coach.
  14. I agree with Diggler here. Neoflexx, you need to chill out. The Sioux have played 9 of their 12 games against teams ranked in the top 8. They are 5-5-2 in that span. Yeah, it could be better, but I also think that they didn't play that bad this weekend. They took too many penalties last night, but they just couldn't find the back of the net. You keep saying that the Sioux get outshot every game, but they just outshot the Badgers tonight. You keep saying that Hakstol won't be able to get the big recruits, but he is the one that has been the main recruiting guy even when Blais was the coach. You say that he was stupid for pulling the goalie, but I bet you thought Blais was a genuis when he did that. People only choose to remember the times that it did work, but it also backfired on Blais numerous times when he pulled the goalie. You guys keep pinning Hakstol as the scapegoat here, but he is not the one on the ice. Now we can hopefully get some wins the next few weeks against SCSU, UAA, and Tech to shut all you idiots up.
  15. It's kind of hard to flip off people while wearing hockey gloves being that they are so stiff, but I guess he must have done it. What does the F the Gophers chant have to do with the players? I'm sure the Maryucci crowd are perfect angels when the Sioux come to town.
  16. It didn't happen immediately though. In Blais' first year as head coach, the Sioux were 18-18-3. His second year the Sioux were 19-18-1. Hardly dominating by any stretch (but still better than the later Gino years). It was his third year here that the Sioux started to really take shape. No need to call for Hak's head, the Sioux will soon adjust to the new system and things will be fine. They will only get better as the season progresses, and will be kicking butt in the playoffs, when the wins really matter.
  17. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about this. Hopefully he will be able to play against the Tigers this upcoming weekend. TH said it was a problem with his left leg. He didn't go immediately to the locker room, so that may be a good sign. Hopefully he is ok. Prpich I heard is supposed to be back this weekend, but Fabian is out for the month with a bum shoulder.
  18. Everyone here needs to just chill out a bit. It is October. Last I checked, the season doesn't end for many months. This same NU team just beat Michigan. The Sioux will be fine, bring on the Tigers.
  19. There was also a fight tonight in the Mich Tech/UAA game. Scott (notorious goon for Tech) and Johnson (?? I think for UAA). I don't think that UND was present though.
  20. Do you still have the ticket?? I'll take it if you do!!
  21. Stafford started last season with a few GWG's as well. Let's hope he can keep it up. How about Spirko? 5 points on the weekend. Very impressive.
  22. Frank Doyle was the senior goalie last year for Maine. I agree that this will be an interesting series. Maine will be a good challenge to see where the team is for the rest of the season.

    bison class

Looking at the Sioux and the Bison message boards, it would appear that the Bison fans are still somehow envious of the Sioux. The Sioux board has just one thread on the first page about the Bison program, while the Bison board has around 12 threads about the Sioux on the first page. Let it go fellas. The Nickel stays here in GF, good luck in DI.
  24. I was just assuming that Minnie starts classes at around the same time....
  25. You would think that he would have to make his decision by August 24th when fall semester starts. If he doesn't go to class or enroll, he would be academically ineligible anyway. So that gives us around a week and a half for both Bochenski and Vanek to make up their minds.
