  2. Tyler Young gets his chance: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/tyler-young-provides-a-spark-in-his-und-debut
  3. Preston is the catch from the WHL forward group IMO. I think he would really thrive in the NCAA...super fast, shifty type. Would love for Bryn to lock him down.
  4. I think they could coexist for one season. Losing Liv, Wiebe, Zmolek, and maybe Emery from our current group of D opens up a lot of playing time for both Landon and Keaton to play.
  5. That's what I was thinking too. Put Croal/Zak/Littler on them and hope that those boys can keep the puck away from them as much as possible. If they can do that, we should be able to "out-depth" their other lines hopefully.
  6. Some really good shooters coming in. Both Cooper's can rifle the puck. You could put those two and Zellers all on three different lines and have a sniper on all of them. Combine that with hopefully Reschny and Verhoeff spending another year in GF...plus some CHL studs (looking at you, Landon). Next year could be another step up IMO. I know we'll lose a lot on the backend, but really like what Bryn and Co have lined up.
  7. This will be a tough series. UMD comes in at 7-1, fresh off a sweep of UMN. They've been scoring goals in bunches, especially the Plante line. They managed to score 12 goals against BSU in their series earlier this season...pretty impressive against that group of trappers. They thrive on the PP, so UND will need to be disciplined and keep the defensive lapses to a minimum. Hoping we see Spunar get another chance after his performance against Clarkson. Last line change will be big to try to matchup against Plante line. We should have better depth. Maybe Menghini can get his first goal in a UND sweater against his old club. Go UND!
  8. Does Miami come crashing back down to earth now that the cupcake portion of their schedule is complete...or do they keep it up? Kudos to them for winning the games, but their opponents (FSU, RPI, Lindenwood) have a combined record of 4-16-0 so far. Their next three opponents are ASU, WMU, and SCSU. We'll see how they're looking after those 6 games are done.
  9. Both UMD and SCSU have PP's that are on fire. Gonna be tough against both of those teams if we can't stay out of the box.
  10. Duluth about ready to complete their sweep of UMN.
  11. That was certainly the Berry method. We'll see how Dane does it. Two somewhat subpar games in a row from Homer and he got the hook.
  12. If I'm in charge, Spunar gets the nod on Friday.
  13. Defense was MUCH better tonight. Really limited Clarkson's chances.
  14. Spunar and Verhoeff combine to get us a split. Not the prettiest, but we'll take it. Now a completely different style of team coming to town next weekend...
  15. UND doing what they need to do tonight, but yeah.
  16. That's 100% a penalty. Not to mention the crosscheck on the previous UND possession.
  17. I think they're playing the same boring style as Clarkson in order to limit Clarkson's chances as best as possible.
  18. Can we please cancel the long-term BSU series scheduling while we're at it too?
  19. One penalty out of that tiny scrum in front and it's on UND. Huh.
  20. Simpson - Karl Smaby - Dane
  21. Spunar + Heil is our future for the next 3-5 years hopefully.
  22. 7th best, actually. That's mainly due to the UST series though.
  23. 1-0 UND after 2 17-12 SOG UND 46-21 shot attempts UND Not a lot of high quality looks though.
  24. ding ding ding ding
  25. Dang, Clarkson MO now is just to dive on contact.
