  1. Bison Dan - keep parading around that NDSU had 1.8M gain and you just might end up with 1.9M dollar W. Hockey program. There are a bunch of ladies playing hockey and they have no place to go. Maybe they will figure all you have to do is enroll at NDSU and fill out a survey. Then your comparison will be appropriate because NDSU's Title IX compliance number will be more in line with UND. I don't understand why people think they can compare two organizations when one of the primary drivers of costs are driven by two totally different approaches.
  2. Or several ladies could enroll at NDSU and complete a survey saying they have interest in womens hockey!?!?!? - if that happens the football better get the bake sales rolling.
  3. Thoughts and prayers to family members
  4. I know.. I am saying don't do the mirror schedules. Roll them together - have the games on Thursday/Saturday double headers mens/womens - pack the arenas - make them events.
  5. I don't see why you wouldn't. Denver and Omaha do it. Sioux Falls has done it with the SL Conf Tournament and NDSU did it with Scheels arena. We need to get true travel partners and go back to hosting mens and womens games on the same night. Go OLD schools NCC. But, make home game weekends events. The Summit League game environments would make a huge jump - maximize revenue and minimize costs.
  6. They did show another shot that was better - it was zoomed in tighter. Not sure if it was during post game that they showed it.
  7. That doesn't even make sense... SDSU would not give up the Summit for MVC and Arch Madness.
  8. Here is a direct quote from the VOX of Bull pups... rationalizing why Pionk was not kicked out of the game. As he saw it - Pionk just lost his balance. (Frankly, wouldn't have been mad if Pionk had been tossed for it, but right before the hit, it looks like he loses his balance a bit, as if he were trying to stop and couldn't. Weird sequence looking at the clip, and it was probably enough to keep him in the game.)
  9. Exactly, I am shocked that people are surprised... I have thought of UMD as dirty team since the Chay injury several year back.
  10. What couldn't have been more wrong? That they could have been more professional about how they handled the situation with an affiliate school. I get the relationship. I have heard plenty of shots at UND over the years during the drive time. Not saying that some are not deserved. But, there have been plenty that were not deserved and I am not talking about Beyond the Pond. I totally get the bit in that context.
  11. Seriously, KFAN - Justin, Barreiro, and PA have been taking shots at UND for decades. Now, I would agree someone at UND should have called to reschedule. But, KFAN could have been more mature about it also. It's not like UND has cut them some slack when slanderous claims have been made on KFAN airwaves before. Classic KFAN, please be nice to us when they drop the ball. But, screw you at the next chance possible.
  12. No doubt, a great program. I will miss the games with WSU. Hopefully we play meaningful games with them next year.
  13. Nice - thanks for the update it is unfortunate about what is required for security today.
  14. Yes, it counts as a win and they get a share
  15. Just a little of an apples to oranges comparison. It my is my understanding that the Summit/Midcontinent has always had a semi-neutral/neutral site for the conference tournament (Moline, Springfield, Fort Wayne, Kanas City, Tulsa and then Sioux Falls) Big Sky has always had host schools. Last year is the first time that the Big Sky committed to growing a true neutral site conference tournament. School officials know that it is going to take time to grow the tournament because fans are not used to travelling for the tournament. Obviously the numbers would look much better if UND/Weber St or Montana typical host schools were continuing to host the tournament. After 5 years, I am sure school officials will look to see how the experiment is going. I always thought the Boise (5 schools fairly close), Spokane (4 schools very close together) or Salt Lake City more of a regional center would have been better choices. Reno is kind of in the middle of nowhere for the conference. The closest school is Sac St at 2 1/2 hour drive next closest is Weber St. which is 7 or 8 hour drive. It is a much different problem to solve than Summit League.
  16. It was a tough loss last night - but I was really confused by the call at the end of the game. I was wondering if someone can explain the last foul last night. 1) Called foul on Avants - watching the game on TV it looked like it was against 33. 2) But, number 11 shoots the FT. This was after the ref looked at the monitor. So, if the foul wasn't against 33 what was the call for? 11 was over in the corner of the court. 11 wasn't even close to ball on the play. The only thing I could think of was the foul was not called on Avants. I looked at the box score and it was on Avants. So, I am at a loss at why 11 was shooting the FT vs 33. Here is the box score from the game: 00:05 5 3 - 5 5 V 2 GOOD! LAYUP by HOOKER, Quinton [PNT] 00:05 FOUL by AVANTS, Conner (P4T9) 00:05 5 3 - 5 6 V 3 GOOD! FT SHOT by JACKSON, Trevis 00:05 5 3 - 5 7 V 4 GOOD! FT SHOT by JACKSON, Trevis
  17. Looking forward to O. Nevermann on defense... I loved his energy on the field.
  18. I believe the conference gets a credit for a win in the first four. Not a bad deal.
  19. As far as regular season championships goes Montana has won 3 of 4 twice (1994-1995 and 1999-2000) in the 34 year history of the those sports. So, just winning three of the four would be a major accomplishment for the athletic department.
  20. Actually - I would like to see @NDSU and host USD/SDSU. Then @USD@SDSU and host NDSU every other year.
  21. I would say that the indoor track in one of the best training facilities in the country (I believe they have the same material as Rio Olympic - http://www.mondotrack.com/mondotrackws/) for indoor/outdoor track. I think the Betty is a very nice facility for VB or WB.
  22. Have you been to Youngtown?
  23. I have both espn3 and eversports and I have never had problems with either of them. But, I can go to any location and stream eversports. Not true with espn3.
  24. I have seen several people try and pass this off as a plus. I don't get it - Eversports shows all Big Sky games on line for free.... plus you can watch all games on demand for months. ESPN3 usually requires a fee or up charge and not all providers have ESPN3 available. Plus, the games are on demand for 2 or 3 weeks - then gone. Plain and simple Eversports is a much better deal. I don't get your logic.
