The problem is, Terry Wanless won't be anywhere near the closed room where this vote will take place The guy calling the shots will be the Sac State President and it wouldn't surprise me if the guy has never been to ND I wouldn't take anything for granted if the name is allowed to stay.

The way I understand ND law is that the petitions stopped the repeal of the original law, so the ballet question will be "Do you support the repeal of the bill mandating the use of the Sioux nickname. In other words, a YES vote gets rid of the name, a NO vote keeps the name. As I said before, good luck getting that explained to some people.

Do you really think that U of Sioux Falls and SD School of Mines are better? They are NAIA/D2 schools for crying out loud. You are starting to embarrass us.

I was one of the first here to favor changing the name, but got flamed so bad I just kept quiet after that. Time for me to speak up again. There is no doubt that you are dead right about what the western members will do to us if it comes down to a vote since we aren't full fledged members yet, they don't need a unanomous vote.

Saw this in the Herald. Looks like you guys in ND have it made and should pass up California and Alaska for number 2 real soon. What I found really interesting was that ND was projecting to be a 1 million barrels a day by 2015 and now they are saying things are running ahead of the projections. Add in that Texas is at 1.1 million barrels a day and has had only a slight increase in the last 6 years. That means that it is very possible ND could pass Texas and be the number 1 oil producer in the nation someday. http://www.grandfork...icle/id/226190/

The thing is, it hurts our credibility a little by offering and then yanking after he accepted. I have no problem pulling an offer that hasn't been accepted because we can't wait forever but this wasn't the case. Rather like dumping your prom date after she says yes.

I lost faith in Jones years ago, but until the Mayville game I had thought this year was a definite improvement. They just seem so consistently inconsistent.

How long is Knight expected to be out? Or is a game by game decision? Kinda lost touch with things over the Holidays.
