Transfers don't excite me at all. I'd rather get them out of high school and besides, it certainly hasn't been working out for the basketball team. Bubba has free reign on rebuilding over a couple years, do it right.

I was more on the Fire Jones wagon a couple years ago then I am now. With what we pay, we won't get anyone any better, and firing him just disrupts the team. How many years does he have left on his contract? It's sad to see how far we've come since the Dave Gunther days, but let's face it, the money isn't there. It really isn't there for football either like is should be, and basketball is a lot lower on the pecking order. I'll be the first to admit, outside of hockey, we basically suck at everything. I watched the NDSU CC game on ESPN and wished we were at that level, then I saw the broadcast of the BB game against a mediocre NDSU team and was sick. It all comes down to massive amounts of money, and until we commit a whole lot more, nothing will change. Basketball team will be an embarrassment and the football team will miss the playoffs again next year. That's just the way it is. Yuck.

Easier FBS next year, substitute NDSU for Mo State, and leave EWU off and to me it doesn't look at harder and possibly easier. Drake seems very Robert Morris to me. I know, the schedule is what it is and we have no control over the BSC part of it. I just don't think we should be gloating over not playing someone. My mistake if that was the intentions.

It really worries me when I see people thinking that an easy schedule is our ticket to the playoffs. Playing tougher teams is what makes a team good. If we can only make playoffs by running an easy path, do we really deserve to be there? If we aren't playing the best, we'll probably get blown out in the first playoff game too. I know there was no direct mention of the post season in either post, but the implications are pretty clear.

I really have to wonder how NDSU managed to get such an easy bracket and the good schools all got thrown together in one killer bracket. Makes you wonder what went on?

Bartels needs to start next year ahead of Mollberg, assuming his shoulder heals. He's always struck me as the better QB. I'm not saying Studsrud won't be good some day, but clearly he needs a lot more time to perfect his technique.

I'm very worried about our QB situation for next year. Bartels is the only guy I have any faith in at all. Mollberg has had ample time to show what he has, and he's lacking. Studsrud hasn't impressed me at all. I know he's young and got thrown into the fire, but he's got a long ways to go before he's a top notch D1 player. Here's hoping that Ryan Bartels can improve enough next year to get something done, otherwise, it's going to a complete, unmitigated disaster from the get go. Just calling it like it is.

He was a Muss recruit and he was our first verbal last year, committing in October. It happened about the time we worried we wouldn't get anyone. I had high hopes for the kid and hate to see him leave. Hope someone steps up.
