My understanding. Notre Dame trademarked it. UND was able to prove that we used it first based on some documents we found in Chester Fritz library. Both schools came to an agreement. Notre Dame can use the interlocking ND by itself on any merchandise sold on campus Notre Dame must include Notre Dame, Fighting Irish or Irish along with the interlocking ND on any merchandise sold off campus. UND must include Fighting Hawks or North Dakota on any merchandise sold with interlocking ND regardless of where it is sold.

Official UND Football Regime Change Thread
Siouxperman8 replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Football
I was 2-3 minutes late for my end of the year meeting with my head coach at UND because a train held me up. He told me that he was seconds from closing the door and I should have planned so I was on time regardless of what happened on the way. That was 30+ years ago so holding players accountable for being on time is nothing new.- 428 replies

Fun to watch. Our vb team is tough. Had to turn down the sound a few times when Sac State went on a run. Announcers were over the top then.
-
I saw the same in the one replay they showed.

I like Bubba but have completely disagreed with his decision to not give Mollberg a shot after he was injured and came back. I'm guessing he didn't want to mess with his starter (Studsrud) but when Studsrud was hurt he went with Bartels and never even gave Joe a look. Joe's upside was much higher than Bartels.

I don't think he was intending to say all of the skilled players were out, but of those players expected to play most of the minutes - we were missing half of them. If you look at it that way it is analogous. Young players in hockey are different than in football. In hockey they are expected to come in physically ready and to compete immediately - that is mostly not true in football. It is a different game. When Lennon was having success he essentially red-shirted his entire roster each year with an exception every few years. Also there is not the two years of USHL or other junior programs for football players to develop after HS.

I posted this on 2017 Season thread but most of injury discussion is here so posting here as well. Goon with a good analogy. Some have done a similar comparison with hockey and used the % of total football roster. I think Goon is closer to reality since so many football players come to school not ready for DI football and and aren't expected to play much if at all in a given season. As a % of those counted on to play a large role on the team this is pretty close.

Maybe we could strive to be better than those other boards I stood and talked with a current players parents at the SUU game. The father told me he reads this message board after games. I'm sure recruits do too.

You are correct sir. Home playoff games are earned during the regular season.

It has been terrible for me. I just shut off the vb game because it is so bad.

Thanks. I just picked up some from another poster.

Saturday night Miami hockey tickets
Siouxperman8 replied to Mark R. Schneider's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
I would like to buy them if still available. -
I'm looking for two for Saturday if anyone has some available.
-
We are at the game. Ouch anybody know why SUU is still throwing on most downs and not running the clock?
-
I guess I spoke too soon. Sorry to hear.
-
Doing the same but 4 day trip.
-
I was with you. The fg’s seemed like a bad idea at the time but it worked out
-
Headed to SUU next week. Not expecting a win but it would be nice to be surprised.
-
I get it. they ate their last one so I figured we’d sit on it
-
Why didn’t we kneel down rather than score again?
-
Where is Santiago? Haven't seen him
-
I watched him play once in HS and I thought he was very good. A handier version of Studsrud.

I have also talked with some of the coaches that turned things around in the late 80's. They had the same story as today. You need to win more recruiting battles and it doesn't happen overnight and doesn't happen until you have had sustained success. the kids we got after going 7-4 and 9-3 are in their first or second year in the program and you can't win if you have to play too many of them all of the time. We are not far enough along to be able to withstand the volume of injuries we have had.
