  1. Here's to hoping they will be scholarship players at UND in a year or two. We need good players who are good people.
  2. Nope. You came to a "former" rivals fan site to talk smack about rings. I'm just saying that the number of rings isn't the real measure of college success. Maybe go to SDSU's site and see what your new rival is up to today.
  3. I do know him and his family personally. I don't want to call him out by name on here but that doesn't change the truth. Rings are nice but if you don't learn anything else while you are there, college has failed you or you have failed it.
  4. And I know a local kid who has 3 rings from SU and has been done with school since last May. He has no job and isn't really interested in looking for one. He sits in his parent's basement all day playing video games. Is that what it means to be a football player at SU? Those rings don't mean squat if you don't get anything else out of college. My son won't play college football and won't have any rings but I trust that his future will be a lot brighter as a teacher and coach for the next 40+ years vs. some of the slugs that have those rings. There is a hell of lot more to be learned in college than what you get on the football field and the number of rings don't really tell much of the story.
  5. Need players like this. Go Sioux!
  6. SiouxFootballInsider ‏@SiouxFootball 1m1 minute ago WR Tim Dulin of Churchill High School in Livonia, MI has committed to #UND Football.
  7. We are digging out of the hole that was created when we were D2 and others in the region went D1 and we couldn't compete on scholarship $$ and then not being playoff eligible and the others were. You can't fix that overnight but I think Bubba's got a chance to do it.
  8. I live in the Twin Cities and have season tickets. I was at all of the games except for the last one when I was in Brazil. Too long of a commute from there.
  9. I believe his father is Wally Keller who played fb at UND in the 1980s.
  10. Stefan had a very troubled basketball journey. He had an offer to USC in HS and they pulled that offer before he graduated. He then went to La Salle, Wisconsin-Green Bay and UND.
  11. Not much new information lately. Hope it picks up after the dead period.
  12. that is right. He is a Minnetonka kid and I coached him a little bit in fb and baseball as a kid. Money isn't really a concern. Grandpa Redmond founded Redmond hair care and Aussie shampoo.
  13. Here is the way I see it. SU currently has a recruiting advantage due to: when they went D1 first they had more money to offer - I know of at one high profile recruit who told UND he would come if they could match the full ride that SU offered but they couldn't so he went to SU During our transition SU had the advantage of having something to play for (playoffs) when we didn't - I know of another high end player who told UND that he was choosing SU for that reason. Their recent success is a big advantage currently It will take time to overcome this situation but believe that we will like we did in the past and ended up the series winning 10 of the last 13.
  14. I thought Shanks looked pretty good considering he hasn't played forever and it was his first college game. I think he can help going forward.
  15. Not much team basketball. Lots of individuals out there. Where is Dave Gunther when you need him?
  16. Here is the recruiting advantage: when we were DII SU had more money to give out so got more of the kids they wanted - I know for sure one high profile player that would have gone to UND if he could have gotten the same $$ from us when we transitioning SU had the advantage of offering something to play for (playoffs) when we couldn't do that - I know of another very good player who made the choice to go to SU over UND for that reason SU's recent success gives them an advantage currently It will take us time to overcome that but we are making strides and will eventually do that like we did by the end of our DII days when we were beating them on the field about 75% of the time.
  17. I remember hearing about Turner as a senior in HS and there was talk in Twin Cities media that they were shocked that Brewster wasn't recruiting him. He was a 2 star in Rivals and Brewster was too busy looking for 4 stars out of Florida that flunked out of school after a year or two. Not many other Big Ten schools recruit MN very hard except for the top 5-10 kids that everybody wants. They aren't coming to MN for 2 star recruits but you would expect the local Big Ten school to have some insight which Brewster did not.
  18. They listed Zach Vraa, Billy Turner, Marcus Williams to start with. Two of them are starting in the NFL I believe. I also found Paul Cornick with the Broncos and from Orono HS.. I am guessing they were all FBS quality.
  19. On Pat Reusse's show last week he had a college football guy on (don't know who it was) and they talked about NDSUs success. Very complimentary but spent some time talking about what might have happened if Kill was at UM two years earlier. They figured he would have gotten many of the top talented players that SU got during Brewster's time. I know that has been discussed here regarding the past and looking forward and generally dismissed by SU faithful as sour grapes. It was interesting to hear it from two guys with no allegiance either way and particularly from Reusse who has been very positive about SUs on the air and in the paper.
  20. What happened to Erin O'Toole? She might have helped last night.
