I really hope not. He seems like a good kid and is a very good football player. I met him this week in a class I was talking to and he was extremely polite and seemed very bright.

President Kennedy Message on Athletics
Siouxperman8 replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in Other Sports
A young woman that I coached in youth basketball went to school at Wisconsin. Almost the first day on campus she was asked to join the rowing team because she looked the part (athlete) and they have a ton of scholarship money they need to spend. They use it to help balance their men's sports.- 2,150 replies

We re-loaded the Sack City sign with new numbers tonight. It will be there Saturday and am hoping we burn up a lot of them.

we are driving up from the cities for the game. Bringing 5

I think we are getting a little ahead of ourselves with the talk of home games and byes. I am really hoping we win this weekend and then go from there.

I ran into a couple of young women a few years ago who played at St. Cloud when Idalski was an assistant there. They weren't overly critical but didn't have much good to say about their experience with him. It was obvious they were holding back because I was a UND guy.

I agree with all of this. What is too bad is that we didn't get into the playoffs last year to get this process jump started and a year further down the tracks.
-
The reason I think it matters where we stand now is that it is hard to move up but easy to move down with a loss. At 24 we can't afford to move down at all. If we were higher we could afford a loss much easier and still be in position for the playoffs.

Agree 100%. I don't really like the name but have made my peace with it also

I watched on line and listened to Michaels. He is tough to listen to. The camera work was terrible from the Sac St crew. Usually the shot was too tight and you couldn't see where the ball or the runner/receiver ended up. On Studsrud's long TD run we only saw the first 15 yards or so.

The $24B corporation I work for just changed the name of our division. We had no say in it as it was mandated. There were a lot of emails regarding that we need to change email signatures and voice mail greetings to the new name, how to do it and deadlines for getting it done. No options for us either. UND is behaving like I would expect any large organization to. We fought the good fight to keep the Sioux name and lost after spending a lot of effort and money. I was a big supporter of that fight but at some point we need to move on. I have both Sioux and Hawks gear and wore a Sioux sweatshirt and a Fighting Hawk hat to the football game last week. I am not anti-Sioux but I really don't understand the anti-Hawks at all costs crowd. We aren't getting the Sioux name back, unfortunately, so lets not continue to bash our new name.

I have never seen a fan base that didn't think their SC coach was better than everyone else's SC coach. I wonder how many secrets there are out there.

looks like he can make guys miss.

President Kennedy Message on Athletics

top 8 get in. UND was 10th last year. RPI in Women's hockey is heavily weighted to the East Coast teams for some reason. Schlossman has explained it but I don't remember details. Some weaker teams from the east get in every year at the expense of western teams. Mercyhurst got in ahead of Bemidji State, probably an auto bid.- 2,150 replies

I'm not saying I agree with the decision but don't think it will go. The difficult political part is that it gets a lot of media attention and is a perennial top 10 program in the country. I know there aren't many teams that play women's hockey but they are consistently in the top 10. 290 parents would be 11 parents per player on the roster.- 2,150 replies

I had a good angle on it and was dying worrying that wouldn't pick it up and it would go the other way for 6. Nice play on his part. Most of those on the field stopped for a couple of seconds.

I was pretty well convinced that W hockey wasn't going anywhere. It would be tough to sell politically.- 2,150 replies

I was surprised by the amount of Fighting Hawk logo apparel at the football game Saturday. Much more than I would have predicted.

I am doing my part for attendance this week. There will be 14 of us.

This was my take from Saturday as well. Olivera can bang and power out some yards when there isn't much there. Santiago needs our OL to create more space than they are doing right now.

Carson Wentz taking Philly err Indy err DC by storm
Siouxperman8 replied to SiouxVolley's topic in Non-collegiate sports
I have watched Wentz a few times and he is really good already. -
Water over the dam here but I really wish Mollberg would have gotten a look last year when Studsrud was hurt. It would have been great to see what he could do with the line and running backs we had last then. Good or bad it would have answered a lot of questions regarding what is our best option at QB.

I will call BS on this one. The first one would cause a lot of angst and the other would barely be noticed.

I was really turned off by obnoxious Sioux hockey fans the last few years I lived in GF. After moving to the Twin Cities I found that in general Gopher hockey fans are more obnoxious and many of them are much less knowledgeable about the game. Their feelings of superiority drive me nuts. I quickly found a new bond with UND hockey.

When we play good football in meaningful games (playoff implications) most people will stay until the end.
