You aren't really trying to equate the number of people who show up for a rally with the number of people who support the issue of that rally are you? Just because I didn't show up doesn't mean I don't support the issue. On the other side there are plenty of people who are recruited to attend rallies that have no interest in the cause they come because a friend asked them. You really can't say that just because the rally didn't draw hundreds/thousands of people that no one supports the issue. You could say the same thing about the Walk that was held last year on campus after the Siouxper Drunk shirts - it was a very small gathering if your thought is that everyone who agreed with their issue was there.

Did anyone who really took any time to look at the process think it would have ended up otherwise? I can't think of any scenario where trying to appease everyone and letting everyone have a say in a decision doesn't turn out as a major debacle. I would love to hear how UND could have handled this in a different manner that would not have ended up as a major debacle - there is no way that some group was not going to be majorly unhappy with the results.

He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. My assumption is that it took a lot of feedback from numerous sources for him to step up and make this move. What evidence do you have that "It' doesn't take much to get the president ot change his mind."

Until a group of liberal professors sends out an email demanding that the hockey team have the new nickname put on their jerseys because not doing so simply perpetuates the Fighting Sioux nickname and the threat that the NCAA will demand that UND put the new nickname on their jerseys for the same reason (sarcasm).

This statistic is often shared totally out of context at the time of this vote there was the threat of no Big Sky and the NCAA had sent a message to all schools not to schedule UND I guarantee a majority who voted to rescind the measure would vote to keep the name if the NCAA had not generated its fear campaign.

Then there's always the use of a feather as a icon - which closely resembles an eagle feather - which closely resembles....

I'm all in on "ABS" anything bug Sundog - but I question any impact a fan site can make based on a loss of credibility due to trolls and angry discussions. However as they say "The only thing evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing".

This helps create interest for the season but I don't see us finishing #9. I doubt coaches have time top put any real thought into this and most of the writers have no clue - there is still a Big Sky bias involved here as evidenced by the pre-season all conference selections. Plus strength of opponents in an unbalanced scheduled makes a huge difference as we have seen in the past. I see us closer to #6 or #5 - (one step at a time)

I predict the "North Dakota" option comes off the table based on a well-researched recommendation from the "Urban Dictionary" consulting firm. I can hear them "We've determined the word "north" depicts a cold barren place and the word "Dakota" depicts native american imagery."

The legacy of the trophy was that is was to be awarded to the winner of the "annual" football game between UND and SU. Times change, time to move on - I doubt there are many schools that have a travelling trophy with a school they only play once every four years with no guarantee of future match-ups. It should be given to the state historical society in Bismarck. It would be great if it could be displayed showing all the scores during the series.

Geez if they talked to our crack "Consultant" they would be starting the rebranding tomorrow. If our consultant thinks Roughrider has a double meaning that is a deal breaker what would they think of beaver....that makes me wonder how the Beavers have been able to survive all the name-calling and things being thrown at them (sarcasm).

Our tackling was much better last year - very fundamentally sound. However we were incredibly bad at third and long - it was almost unbelievable how often teams converted them. We did see much more pressure on the quarterback which will no doubt continue and just get better - part of our goal of making the opposing team's quarterback's mom the second most uncomfortable person in the building. That could be where the plays are made that change the game and give the underdog a chance - a couple of fumbles in the backfield is what we need. Can't wait to get back to the good old days of double figures in "Sack City".

Not interested in having a conversation with you or any other SU trolls as has been shared but obviously the comprehension abilities are weak - this is a site for UND fans to discuss UND sports and having trolls drop into every conversation adds nothing of value but we do realize you need to be here to feed the perpetual inferiority complex that comes from going to the #2 university in the state. .
