  1. Damn! With her, we might have had a chance at 2nd place in the WCHA now and again instead of alternating between third and fourth every year, depending on what kind of a season UMD was having.
  2. First Olympics in the Golden Age of web streaming and cord cutting —is a real killer.
  3. Frickin’ Rudolph!!!!! Oops! Wrong thread.
  4. Sure, I guess. It’s a product of capitalism ....work your butt off and prove yourself, when opportunity arises, seize it.
  5. Well most people then. If I got an opportunity like that..I’d certainly take it even if that meant leaving a job on Day 1.
  6. Great ... it's Darell vs. the sports bros again. This stuff never gets old.
  7. UND may have gotten a big for the future in 6-10, 245# Lucas Schmidt out of central coastal California. Signed is LOI this week. Sounds like he has local ties. At this point, maybe a bit of a project at D-1fresh out of high school, a hair better than that 7-footer NDSU got out of Dickinson last year. But with the physical tools in place, hard to pass on this guy. https://register-pajaronian.com/article/boys-basketball-mvcs-schmidt-signs-with-division-1-north-dakota
  8. Cheerleaders on the loose again down south. http://www.inforum.com/news/accidents/4400890-cow-breaks-loose-livestock-show-heart-ndsus-campus
  9. Great discussion. I see a lot of big European and Australian 4/5 players around the Big Sky and other mid to high majors ( remember Arizona from our Big Dance appearance). Can we expand our recruiting footprint beyond Iowa ( kind of joking, too) and look for interest across the pond and/or Down Under? I know it's more expensive, but we used to do it all the time on a no-draw sport like WH.. and other programs seem to think it works OK. Thoughts?

  11. Actually, I think that he and Foles are cousins or something like that. So it's all good.
  12. Both you and UND-1 are spot on. UND could have done it, too, but it would have entailed hitting academics hard. Choices were made, and now here we are.... it is what it is. Maybe we should quit looking back so much (and over the fence for that matter)....grass is always greener around the outhouse.
  13. Wait, you mean Coach Jones doesn't base playing time on how many competing offers you had 2-3 years ago in high school and instead bases it on who's putting in the time and work in practices?? Good Lord, I'm speechless!
  14. Do you think the students even realized what they just saw?
  15. Though I cannot be sure because the NYT piece was was so confusing in spots, I think the writer meant that UND Hockey —in general — is the unifying force and not just WH. A major fallacy with the story is how it repeatedly conflates UND Hockey in general with UND women’s hockey as an isolated program. Because, if we’re honest, the vast majority of people locally, statewide, regionally and even nationally, when they think of hockey at UND, are envisioning the men’s squad. If they are not, then it is qualified appropriately or the contextual setting makes it clear.
  16. No worries. I saw her interviewed once during halftime of an NAU football game.
  17. Your so called “former NAU guy” is actually a dame. Or at least identifies as such.
