Great discussion. I see a lot of big European and Australian 4/5 players around the Big Sky and other mid to high majors ( remember Arizona from our Big Dance appearance). Can we expand our recruiting footprint beyond Iowa ( kind of joking, too) and look for interest across the pond and/or Down Under? I know it's more expensive, but we used to do it all the time on a no-draw sport like WH.. and other programs seem to think it works OK. Thoughts?

Actually, I think that he and Foles are cousins or something like that. So it's all good.

Both you and UND-1 are spot on. UND could have done it, too, but it would have entailed hitting academics hard. Choices were made, and now here we are.... it is what it is. Maybe we should quit looking back so much (and over the fence for that matter)....grass is always greener around the outhouse.

Do your homework!

Wait, you mean Coach Jones doesn't base playing time on how many competing offers you had 2-3 years ago in high school and instead bases it on who's putting in the time and work in practices?? Good Lord, I'm speechless!

New York Times has a big sob story on UND dropping womens hockey
Teeder11 replied to SiouxVolley's topic in Women's Hockey
Though I cannot be sure because the NYT piece was was so confusing in spots, I think the writer meant that UND Hockey —in general — is the unifying force and not just WH. A major fallacy with the story is how it repeatedly conflates UND Hockey in general with UND women’s hockey as an isolated program. Because, if we’re honest, the vast majority of people locally, statewide, regionally and even nationally, when they think of hockey at UND, are envisioning the men’s squad. If they are not, then it is qualified appropriately or the contextual setting makes it clear. -
No worries. I saw her interviewed once during halftime of an NAU football game.

Your so called “former NAU guy” is actually a dame. Or at least identifies as such.

Win or lose, taking Gonzaga to OT IS BIG.

I was thinking the same. If you you're not knowledgable enough about the program to have a basic handle on players names and postions, your are beyond casual, and aren't worth the time it takes to respond. Now, damn it, Jdub27, you spurred me to do it anyway. LOL!

well, crap. You are the one UND was trying to please. Now what?

Would love for FD to be a tenacious rebounder inside and someone with the ability to alter shots and get easy finishes this season as she works herself back into a basketball mindset and works on her shot. This year could be fun, but losing only Franklin, next year, could be special, depending on how strong USD and SDSU are.

Not sure. But The Betty acoustics make it barely audible and underwhelming. I think there are sirens that can be faintly heard at the beginning.

Legalize it. It’s not harmless but when it come to freedoms, that shouldn’t be the litmus test. I like the old saying that is oft repeated when it comes to guns and the second amendment, and I paraphrase: “if you sacrifice your freedoms for security, you’ll have neither.” Not for total anarchy but c’mon....like with alcohol...prohibition of this drug is not worth the cost of the fight.

Yeah, I agree. Although, I thought that was the players’ choice. Go figure.
