That’s the part that no one says out loud. Yes, UND has the medical school but most of its (med school) federal research funding is funding that needs to be competed for. The difference in the amount of non-comp federal funding that each of North Dakota’s research institutions receive is really night/day. What UND has finally been able to do should not be poo-pooed in any way given the playing field.
