    2018 Season

I am confident that we are going to give Sam Houston a surprise........................
  2. The mirror scheduling in the Big Sky was ideal. Fans always knew there was going to be a basketball game in the Sioux Center every single Thursday or Saturday all winter long. The Big Sky seemed very accomodating to UND's hockey schedule. We were normally the only team to have afternoon conference games on Saturdays if i recall correctly................ This Summit schedule screams small time to me. It reminds me of the NAIA scheduling that the North Dakota schools do like Jamestown U, and Mayville St. Basketball comes before hockey for me, but as someone who travels with a family 100 miles or so for games, its going to be tough to make Wednesday nights work. But........we all know we made the move so we can play NDSU more often, because that is what the fanbase yearns for. I expect there won't be a ticket available for that all important NDSU game in February on a Wednesday night.......................So I guess I'll just stay home and figure out how to watch it the InterWebs................ And the Mens/Womens double headers? What a joke. Lets just join the DAC-10 if that's still an option. Nobody wants to be at a college basketball event for 5 hours. The iPhones in the student section will be out of batterty power long before the second game starts their warm ups.......................
  3. The Summit's scheduling is brutal.....................
  4. Ryan Cunningham on KNOX is an excellent play by play guy for any sport it seems. I really enjoy listening to him regardless if it is hockey, football, basketball, or volleyball. He does a tremendous job in my opinion. I'd love to hear him doing UND games in some fashion in the future..........
  5. Seriously, if the Red Pepper's grinders are actually worse than they were before, they must be horrible now.................. I've tried it numerous times and have never have understood the infatuation with that place. Given the choice, I prefer a Flatlander microwave grinder out of the gas station cooler over what the Red Pepper offers..................
  6. I have to say I really want to be a Kennedy supporter. Given his business and political background, I hoped he might be a breath of fresh air compared to most typical University presidents. But now given his disasterous decision to move UND sports to the SumValley, coupled with the fact that he is apparently alienating the University's largest benefactor, me thinks this guy might be completely inept and needs to go away. Whether or not everything McGarry says is true, it is obvious she is pissed off, and the relationship is weak at best. Funny that Kennedy doesn't flat out deny saying the things McGarry has alleged. Only that he doesn't "recall" saying most of them.........
  7. It has now been 10 seasons since North Dakota became a Divsion I program. I thought putting together a "team" from the last 10 years of the DI era at UND would be a fitting off-season topic. Just a few guys off the top of my mind that have stood out............ OFFENSE: Braden Hanson Greg Hardin Keny Gollady John Santiago Brady Olivera Josh Murray Jake Miller Defense: Deion Harris Dominique Hawins Donovan Alexander Cole Reyes Alex Tillman Dan Hendrickson Will Ratelle Ross Brenneman Garrison Goodman Dayo Idowu Special Teams: Brandon Hellevang Zeb Miller I know I am missing several outstanding Offensive & Defensive Lineman. Help me remember!
  8. You don't seem to like much at all about UND football lately...................... The Alerus is an excellent facility for the level of football that North Dakota plays at.
  9. 4 days in beautiful Sioux Falls? No thanks.....................
  10. Not surprised Reyes hasn't gotten a shot from an NFL team yet. Talented player, but made of paper mache........... He could never stay healthy against FCS competition. Taking hits from NFL players would probably cripple him for good..................... Maybe he will get a look from the CFL..................
  11. I truly can't wait. Guaranteed games against Augustana were the reason I wanted UND to move to DI back in 2002. I sure hope Mankato gets on board next...............
  12. Ya, you got me there I guess. I guess I was thinking that as a former RB he should be more athletic than the stereotypical LB. He'll still be the shortest LB on the roster as far as I can tell. Strong kid though that is put together. Me thinks he'll be a depth/special teams guy and nothing more at this point. The timing of his violation was pretty bad for him given the fact that Johannesen came here the same year. Always liked the way Gordon carried the ball......... Gotta give him credit for sticking with the program. He could have easily bailed like Josh Murray did, or quit all together like Chappell .........
  13. NO!.........to the double headers..............
  14. Please let this happen....................
  15. Heidelbaugh isn't the kind of WR this program needs, but he's willing to go there to stay in the program so kudos to him. I agree that Gordon would probably make a better safety than LB. Maybe the LB corps is still looking weak going into next year? Yikes.............
  16. Attendance will be up again this year. Didn't you hear? We are joining the MVFC in the next decade. Better get your season tickets now, because they will be all gone once SDSU is an annual opponent again...................
  17. As far as blindly optimistic fandom goes, I'm optimistic that we'll be improved this year and challenge for a playoff spot. However I can guarantee we won't win a conference title this year.
  18. So, I'm a VERY casual hockey fan. In fact the only hockey I watch is UND hockey. I've been a season ticket holder since 2006. I've never played the sport, just been following UND since the mid-90's when I was student. Since the title of this thread is "Ever Since...", I'm just going to offer up that to my untrained eye it seems like that "Ever Since" Cary Eades left, this team has gotten softer every year. It seems to me as if they've gotten less and less physical as the years go by. For all my time following the program all I hear is how physicality is a hall mark of the team. But I haven't seen it in the last 3-4 years as I have in the past. That, along with the fact that there seem to be no offensively skilled players on the roster right now is my perception of the program right now. Again, this is coming from a football/basketball guy who goes to hockey games because its the cool thing to do. So please, correct me if I am wrong.
  19. I hope there will be tickets left...........
  20. Looking at the schedule, I see 4 likely wins, 3 likely losses, and 4 games that can go either way.................
  21. Again I say about the salary.......... If you are plugging along in your cubicle, doing your job and making $15/hr, and some other company from a distance notices your potential and offers you $30/hour in a bigger and warmer cubicle, are you gonna say no, "I refuse to even consider your proposition "?
  22. I think it is probably as simple as this........ If the opportunity presented itself to double your annual income, how many here would turn it down?
  23. I just listed 5 lower bowl seats for sale on Ticketmaster for the Saturday game against Colorado College. Three seats in Section 102, Row F. Two seats in Section 103, Row P. All at the end that UND shoots at twice. $60 each.
