  1. Ya I believe is the head SC coaxh for all athletics EXCEPT hockey. Football should have a specific SC coach like they do, IMO........
  2. Would rather have seen Kostich and Baukol go before Knauf....... I really can't believe Kostich isn't the first guy gone.......
  3. Regarding Schweigerts "philosophy", he needs to have the ability to adapt to the players on the team. I suppose maybe that is what he has done during his time here, given the riches we've had at RB the last 4 years. But I remember when he was at Duluth, they had a scary wide open offense. Their QB, Schlafke, was outstanding, but they didn't force HB dives all day long. I wish the NCC stats were still available somewhere, because I bet UMD was near the top of the league during those years. There have been many posts that have said "Rudolph runs the offense that Bubba wants him to run". I can't imagine the offense we saw the last two weeks is the one Bubba wants. He needs to recognize that issue and eliminate it. If he isn't willing to do that, he needs to be gone.
  4. Bubba will be making $205,000 when Valley play begins in 2020. That will definitely be on the bottom half of the league. It would cost UND $615,000 if they fired him in the morning. Which is why he will be back in 2019. Neilson at USD makes about $260,000. Kliemen is around $340,000 I think. If or when UND hires a new coach in the next few years, the salary will need to be in the $275,000 range.......
  5. Big difference between Mussmans 8-3 year and Bubbas 9-2 year.......
  6. I would really be shocked if Chaves fires Bubba, simply due to the economics of the contract situation and years left on it. I could however see a scenario where the AD demands that Bubba make changes to his coaching staff. What effect that would have on the AD-Head Coach relationship I would imagine would not be a positive one. Unless Bubba is actually thinking of making changes on his own right now. I don't know how common it would be for an AD to micromanage like that. In the end it could probably influence Bubba to walk away before his contract runs out. I honestly haven't completely closed the book on Bubba, like many here already have, but I am getting to the final chapters. I'm not sure I think it is best policy to be changing coaching regimes every 5 years. I wouldn't probably have the patience that I do if Schweigert hadn't already proven that he is capable of turning around a hot mess in pretty short order like he did with what he inherited from Mussman from 2014-16. Again not trying to change anybody's minds, I am as frustrated as anybody else. At minimum I better hear reports in the coming weeks that Rudolph and Kostich are packing their bags. And I don't mean for the recruiting trail.
  7. So the hockey vs football argument, we are really going to start that already, 90 minutes after the FB season ended? OK, I'll play............ Born and raised in small town ND, 100 miles from GF. Big sports fan. Had no idea that UND had a hockey program until halfway through my first freshman semester in the fall of 1996. Currently a season ticket holder for both sports. So can't we all just get along?
  8. BS........ We are mediocre, just like 8 of the 10 teams in the Valley. We will blend right into that shitshow.........
  9. Well to be fair, by that point in the game it was obvious that the offense wasn't going to be doing anything. The defense likely had just as much chance to score, so might as well punt it to get them a bit closer to the goal line. Quite sad really.
  10. Do you suppose he will call Lowell for his thoughts?
  11. Ketteringham has no poise at all in the pocket.
  12. But the location. Think of the money we'd save on travel. There is history. They are so close that our fans could travel in droves to see us play there. <PURPLE>
  13. Realize that the season is not over yet, but the latest bracket from STATS/Craig Haley has 5 Big Sky teams (when you include UND) in versus just 2 from the Valley. That would make the Big Sky the stronger conference and illustrates that the Valley is not as "strong" as some believe or even hope. I don't think the disparity has been as large in recent years as some people like to think. The fact that the MVFC has been dominated by two DII move-ups since they joined that league says volumes about the quality of the other members. As far as "finding solace" in the fact that UND is moving to the Valley, I'll pass. It's like leaving the Big 10 for the Big 12. But to get back on topic, North Dakota just needs to win this weekend, preferably convincingly, and let the chips fall where they do. Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling we are going to get passed over for whoever wins the Brawl of the Wild game. Too much name recognition to overcome there.
  14. Speaking of attendance............ It was down about 11% from last year. Final number is 9,336 per game. I updated the Attendance Wiki
  15. The SumValley just keeps getting better and better...........
  16. 5 tickets available on the Ticketmaster Exchange for the SATURDAY game against Western Michigan....................... 3 in Section 102, Row F 2 in Section 103 Row P All of them are in the end that UND shoots at twice $60 each
  17. So, I have multiple TVs in my Man-Cave. I had UND on one TV and SDSU v. Grand Canyon on another TV. Our athletes looked skinny. Real skinny..................
  18. Would love to have Kotelnicki as ST coordinator. I believe he is out of football and in the business world now. North Carolina area I believe?

    2018 Season

I believe Harris left the game in the 3rd and didnt return either. Looked like a leg injury.
  20. I am guilty of being a big fan of Freund, and I know the inbred nature in which UND hires many of it's coaches isn't probably all that healthy, but I think Freund could be a good OC someday, somewhere. He was a very good QB and leader on the field, and played on some of UNDs best offenses. But again, not saying he is ready now. And the offense is like 3rd on the list of what I think is ailing this program right now.
  21. That's the way I see it. But I am afraid there is a significant contingent of the fan base that would be satisfied with a .500 football team as long as an edge in the head to head matchups with NDSU we're in the equation. But I digress. Kostich should have been left in Moscow.......
  22. I agree. Unfortunately I don't think the staff was actually being intentionally aggressive there. They knew the chances of converting on 4th and 1 were far greater than hitting on a 34 yard field goal. Remember when 34 yard field goals were basically automatic for UND?
