  1. KNOCK IT OFF WITH THE LOCKER-ROOM TALK SIOUXSPORTS.COM MODERATING TEAM
  2. As long as you are all about "facts".................. Since moving to Division I................. North Dakota has an overall record of 55-56, has won two conference titles, and appeared in the post season once. South Dakota is 46-66, has zero conference titles, and appeared in the post season once. UND currently isn't where I want them to be, but USD is certainly not light years ahead as you suggest. USD had a nice year. That's what they do every 10 seasons or so......................
  3. Glad to hear Gordon has stuck it out and worked hard this season on the scout team. Says something about his attitude...................
  4. Just posted 1 for sale on Ticketmaster for Saturday. Lower bowl, Section 102, end UND shoots at twice. Face value.
  5. This might be an off the radar type place, but for anyone that enjoys a great breakfast I'd highly recommend Seasons Family Resteraunt in EGF. Way better and faster too IMO than the standards like Perkins, Denny's, and IHOP.
  6. Regarding Mississippi Valley, it is what it is. Sometimes you have to "buy" a game, and schools like this are what are for sale. You can't always make home-and-homes work out. It's a DI game, and that does count for something once playoff selection time comes around since we voluntarily are forfeiting access to an autobid for two seasons. UND doesnt' really "buy" games all that often in recent years, but I don't think it is a coincidence that we bought Mississippi Valley and Drake for the two seasons that we are officially independent.
  7. Didn't realize it for a few days, but the 2018 schedule is all confirmed with the release of the 2018 Season Ticket Package that came out recently. All Big Sky games are the same as originally released in 2014, with the exception of Montana St. being replaced by Idaho. My guess would be that the 2019 schedule will follow suit, but I'll leave that as marked "tentative" in the Wiki. I've got the wiki updated now with all known games (that I am aware of) through 2025. If I missed any, let me know...........
  8. He likely would have put up better numbers with better O-line play similar to last season. We were 12th in the league Sacks Against. Studsrud was running for his life all season................
  9. I've updated the future schedules on the Wiki Page. I put the confirmed games for 2018 and 2019 in ALL CAPS for easier reference. The other games listed against Big Sky opponents are those that were announced in 2014. It seems, for the most part so far, that those games may hold true with the exception of Idaho replacing Montana St. I will try to continue to update as new information allows..................
  10. Mississippi Valley St, then 8 Big Sky teams. Independent officially for two years, but will still play 8 Big sky teams each season,......
  11. Your obsession with NDSU makes you quite irritable. Why don't you just give Team Makers a call: 888-231-NDSU And by the way, the MVFC sucks!
  12. On December 23rd, 2013 when Schwiegert was announced as head coach, did you at that point expect that UND would run the table in the Big Sky Conference and earn a playoff seed just three short seasons later? I sure didn't. He's moved things along faster than I expected. I maintain this season was an anomaly and we will see more improvement next season................
  13. Awesome, thanks for the insight. I agree on Palmborg and Lawrence. Palmborg was solid all year. I feel like Lawrence is a steady and reliable player, but not an every snap guy. He was probably asked to do too much this year. Definitely an asset though. I asked about Cieslak because it honestly seems to me like he'd be better suited to nose tackle than some of the other guys we've had out there other than Tank. Why is one DE 255 lbs and another is 305? Pinke is intriguing to me at tight end. Fiedler can't block, and Cloyd can't catch. Small sample, yes, but looked like Pinke can do both. The kid is put together for a freshman too.
  14. CHS and CF do have distribution facility in Grand Forks, just worth noting.............................
  15. I agree 100%. In football, it always comes down to the guys in the trenches. We had injuries and adversity there this season and guys got alot of minutes in those positions that weren't supposed to. I'm trying to look at the silver lining. A young O-line in 2017 makes for a more experienced one in 2018...............
  16. geaux_sioux: Here as an off-season assignment for you. I think you are probably the best FB mind on this site. I'd like your evaluation of the following players: Jade Lawrence Tanner Palmborg Austin Cieslak Ty Shannon Hunter Pinke Tyus Carter Patrick Rooney
  17. I suppose it is too late to post that preference would be given to any AD candidate that would advocate for staying in the Big Sky Conference?
  18. Actually, yeah, the number of posters on this board that are obsessed with NDSU, and following them, and being attached to the hip with them is quite alarming IMO...........
  19. QB is the sexiest position in all of sports, so I'll be interested to see how this transition takes place over the off season heading into spring ball and fall camp. IMO it has to come down to Ketteringham vs. Zimmerman. Boltmann may very well be the future, but I'd much rather see him take over as a sophomore or actually preferably as a junior. Defense is our biggest concern/liability heading into next year, but I suspect there will be a lot of drama about who takes over as starting QB. I think Ketteringham is a proven commodity. Zimmerman looks to have a good arm and can make all the throws. What is interesting to me though is that Rudolph/Schwiegert seem to want a mobile QB that is smooth on his feet, ala Studsrud. Both of these guys seem more like drop back, stay in the pocket type passers. What's funny about that though is that it seemed like Rudolph called more designed run plays for Zimmerman while he was in than he did for Studsrud! Studsrud was great at improvising when the pocket collapsed.
  20. I am a farmer so I'd like to see it happen. Given my ties to the Grand Forks area, I'd love even more to see it happen there. A project like this would be a windfall for the community, not just during construction, but for decades to come. It would probably be among the top employers in the county along with UND and Altru. The way that CHS pulled out of the Spiritwood project though, gives me little hope that this will happen. If CHS can't pencil it out, I have my reservations that a bunch of private investors can make something of this scale work. It isn't moving to Fargo either IMO. We will just keep importing our fertilizer from China. Apparently that is cheaper. American labor is just too expensive.
  21. Are we really trying to pin this season's failures on the players not getting a copper-clad class ring from Josten's as a reward for last season's results?
  22. Any likely losses known yet due to reasons other than graduation? Was there ever any closure to the Taylor & Randolph situation? Hopefully they are gone. And what is the status of Torrey Hunt and Carter Wilson? Hoping that Ketteringham is the guy at QB for the next two seasons. I thought he was impressive at Sac St.
  23. Yes, that whole "changing coaches every 3 years" thing that Montana has been doing seems to be working well for them. Let's adopt that model............
  24. And likewise, it wasn't inept coaching that landed two defensive All Americans and a dozen other starters injured and on the sidelines for most of the year. In four seasons this regime has provided far more positive results than negative. I suspect 2018 will yield a return to the playoffs, and talk of a contract extension rather than a dismissal and buyout.......
