  1. I agree. Unfortunately I don't think the staff was actually being intentionally aggressive there. They knew the chances of converting on 4th and 1 were far greater than hitting on a 34 yard field goal. Remember when 34 yard field goals were basically automatic for UND?
  2. My fear is that a good number of fans here would prefer a win against NDSU to participating in the playoffs. I'm not real sure what NDSU has to do with the topic at hand. Other than maybe someone on their staff wants to run our Special Teams?
  3. I believe he probably meant UNI.
  4. Just hypothetical........... Bubba remains. Finish 7-4 next year. Beat NDSU but miss the playoffs. Fire Bubba or extend him?
  5. I like it iramurphy. But Kostich needs to go. All other facets and position groups have had highs and lows during the past five years. We've seen glimpes of, if not great play, at least high level play from every area except special teams. It's been a disaster since that guy walked into Memorial Stadium.
  6. The scenarios are mind boggling. If Montana St wins their last two to finish 7-4, they'd have a much better argument than us. So if the Griz and Bobcats both win next week, who would we root for in the Brawl of the Wild? The winner of that game would probably leapfrog us. Might as well just stomp our next two opponents and see where the chips fall.......
  7. I agree with this....
  8. To make it a little more interesting, two of the teams rated ahead of UND in the computer rankings are Ivy Leaguers, who obviously don't participate in the playoffs. We would have to absolutely dominate the last two weeks and get a helluva lot of help, but there is still a chance, albeit a tiny one.
  9. You do make a difference. Come to the game!
  10. I've said this before, as others have as well, but I really feel a change should be considered at the top of the strength and conditioning program. Or at least put someone else in charge of the football team whose S&C program might be more football specific rather than for World's Strongest Man competitions. Not trying to place the entire blame on injuries, they are part of football, but guys were dropping like flies again yesterday. Things like pulling a hamstring can be directly related to conditioning right? Honestly, after special teams I have felt for a while that S&C might be the biggest liability of this program right now.
  11. Schweigert is under contract through the 2021 season. I think it would be highly unlikely that UND would buy out 3 years worth of his deal at this point. And i am not sure I feel that is warranted anyways. Something needs to be changed though, one (or more) of the coordinators I think. Special teams has been the worst for the longest. Personally, I don't know that our D has been any more consistent than the offense during the last 5 years. Schmidt hasn't done anything earn a pass IMO, when you compare his body of work to Rudolph's.......
  12. Well one guy that certainly needs to go without any debate is Kostich. Special teams have been a liability for 5 years, and only seem to get worse. 3 punt blocks in a season is atrocious.
  13. Idaho Dbacks are doing a great job covering our slow receivers as well. Not alot of guys getting open....
  14. It is not as bad as the DakotaDome in Vermillion. But nothing special. The PA system actually blows away the one at the Alerus. As far as the game, the Defense is doing enough thus far. Giving up yards but opportunistic and getting off the field. Ketteringham is not sharp, and the O-Line is losing the battle in the trenches.
  15. First fan to greet us in the Kibbie Dome was a Bison fan. Predictably he was a prick......
  16. About to walk into the Kibbles-n-Bits Dome. Hoping I see UND come out like they did against Montana. Defense needs to get after it today!
  17. Mollberg was quite possibly the most over-hyped recruit UND ever landed. He had a good arm, but always thought Bartels was the better QB on the roster in that era. I agree with you on Hansen and Hendrickson though. Was always more partial to Hendrickson myself.........
  18. I have 5 lower bowl tickets listed for sale on the Ticketmaster Ticket Exchange, for the SATURDAY game against Wisconsin, November 3. 3 of them are in Section 102, Row F. 2 of them are in Section 103, Row P. $60 each.
  19. Spin it how you want, but IMO the defense has been a bigger liability than has the offense this year. Idaho St's offense is light years ahead of Weber's. And Weber's defense is light years ahead of Idaho St's. Comparing ISU and Weber is an apples to bowling balls comparison.,...,
  20. I will be there. Heading out on Friday!
  21. If you would pay attention, you would notice that UND is relevant right now...... As far as National Championship talk goes, we just lost by one possession to a team that was in the semi-finals last season, and could very well be playing in Frisco come January. So honestly to answer your question, we are maybe not as far away as you think.
  22. I didn't say the offense put up 30 points, I said UND scored 30 points which should have been enough points on the board against Weber's very pedestrian offense. Again, I'm not saying UNDs offense was great yesterday, I just saying that the defense was horrendous and was the biggest reason by far for the loss. We made Constantine look like an all American.......
  23. 8-3 will put us squarely on the bubble as an independent with no conference advocating for us.
