I've come around a bit on the idea of Augustana joining the Summit. If it would result in eliminating this preposterous and haphazard basketball schedule through the season, then I can get on board. In the grand scheme of things, Auggie isn't going to make the Summit much less attractive than it already is.

I'm done with Kennedy. I had high hopes for him when he took the job given his background as a conservative politician, his business experience, the fact that he was NOT a lifelong "academic", and he was born and raised somewhat "locally" in small town Minnesota (the same one my mom hails from). But so far his tenure has been nothing but a disaster in my eyes. From the disastrous decision to move North Dakota from the Big Sky to the SumValley, to alienating/insulting/offending the Engelstad family from the get-go, to these multiple absurd personnel arrangements. This guy is just out of touch with the city of Grand Forks, the state of North Dakota, and the Midwest in general I am afraid. The only good thing he's done since being here was dropping Women's Hockey and Swimming & Diving, but my guess is that Schafer had that served up on a plate for him when he got here because I doubt Kennedy could have even figured that out.

What's the name of the song that is played during pregame at the REA on Saturday nights this year shortly before the starting lineups? Kind of a hip hop song with slot of horns. Sorry, I'm an old guy that can't identify it, but I think it is catchy........

So let me see if I am getting this right?.................... We have a North Dakota State Hall of Famer accusing NDSU's football program of providing her son, a member of perhaps the greatest college football dynasty, with Performance Enhancing Drugs. This former Hall of Famer is a life long resident of North Dakota and along with her husband is involved in agriculture. Her son was born and raised his entire life in North Dakota, on a farm, and is currently a student at one of the Midwest's premier agricultural research universities, and is majoring in agriculture. And we are to take the word of an Athletic Director, who hails from New York, that has been living in North Dakota for fewer than five years and reports to a president that hails from California over that of a family born and bred in the heart of ND, that likely and obviously has deep ties to not only NDSU but also to the state of North Dakota for decades? Call me crazy, but I think I'm going to side with the Robbins family on this one.................................

I think with Danny running the offense, we are going to beat Drake by about 54-7, like we always should. No more of this 21-13 garbage for our season opening "buy" game. Back to the way it should be!

There is no way in hell that Northern Colorado would ever even entertain for a second the idea of leaving the Big Sky for the Summit.

You forgot to use the nickname controversy as an excuse for the lack of success during the Jones era. That's a pretty common one that gets thrown around............ Good call on the time zone issue that the Big Sky caused though, I always love that one. For some reason, none of the SumValley fans ever mention that the Summit League also spans 3 time zones! And it's not like he took over a cellar dweller NCC team when he got here. He took over a team that went 13-15 the year prior, which at the time was just the third losing season in the previous 18 years. This year, we are well on our way to a 6th losing season in the past 13 years. He's the first UND coach in 60 years to carry an overall losing record. It's a pattern. I agree that basketball isn't funded like it should be, certainly not how I want it to be. The current regime has proven they can't get the job done with the resources they are given, so move on, try something else.

There is no turning things around for Jones. After 12+ seasons, we all know his capabilities.

Best case scenario, I see 5 more wins for the Hawks this season assuming we take care of NDSU at home and split with USD. I wonder what Seales' status will be going forward. Just speculation on my part, but he looked like he could possibly be in concussion protocol. Hope he's okay, that would be a big loss, but more importantly, I think he has a history of concussions...............

I knew we had no chance when we had an opportunity to take that last time out before the last possession. Nothing good has ever come out of a late game Jones timeout. The guy would have better luck picking up a turd by the clean end than he would drawing up a winner........

I really love what Moody brings to the team as a long range bomber, something we haven't had for years. But he is a liability defensively. Needs to get better on that end.
