Simply put, it's a numbers game. GFC has hundreds of kids to draw from for their team. Thompson, etc have tens of students to draw from. Sure the top Class B teams may be able to compete with the A teams, but the majority of B teams would not be able to consistently compete with the A teams.

Well, I must admit, that is some theory you got going there SiouxVolley. No idea if it has any chance of gaining any traction. If there is any possibility of this happening, I would hope UND would plan to return football to campus and renovate Memorial Stadium or build new at that location. There are some UND football alums with big pockets, particularly Dave Fennell (sp?) so if this plan actually gains some traction, there are potential resources to draw from.

Aren't the Jacks adding a rather nice addition to their football field and will have a similar indoor practice field/track complex to UND's?

So in your review of the records from UI, did they identify specific Big Sky schools that are interested? I still have a difficult timing seeing this come to fruition. IF it does, I would love to see UND be a part of it, but not sure we can afford it.

Also, I see no way that PSU could go FBS with their current financial issues they have.

As much as I would like to see it happen, I just don't think it will. Too many things need to happen in order for it have a chance, which means too many opportunities for it to fall apart.

Agree with this. They could have the trophy's at the Al during football season and then move them back to their permanent home at the IPF during the off season. I do like that they added the signage outside the Al a few years ago. Now they just need to work on the inside.

UNC loses to EWU in OT, 94-90. UND can now move into a tie for 2nd place with UNC if the win tonight.

My brother and I are planning to contribute to this as well. I sent an email to Mike Mannaussa asking a few of the questions/suggestions that have been brought up here. I asked for a reply or for something official from UND to be posted to this thread. We will see if something is posted or I will post if I hear anything back.

Yes Darrell, we are all well aware of our current attendance issues. We aren't talking about the need for expanding the Alerus, we are talking about whether or not it's possible.

I have also heard that Canad has plans for a second tower to the west of the first tower. Not sure on a timeline or if it will ever come to fruition. If seats are added to the north end zone, how would that affect loading/unloading for concerts and other shows? I actually did some construction on the Alerus one summer when I was in college. At that time, there were no future expansion plans for the stadium...at least according to my foreman. Those types of things can change over time though.
