  1. At Bubba's presser, he said they hope to have Reyes and Hinojosa back. Simmons is still out.
  2. From today's GF Herald: “We’ll take a look,” Schweigert said of the starting quarterback position. “Going into the fourth, we wanted to give Ryan a shot. Joe would like to take some throws back and missed some opportunities there ... but Joe’s our starting quarterback.” So he'll look at the position, but Joe's the starting QB.
  3. I didn't expect have a winning season this year, or even get to four or five wins. I agree the defense is getting better. The frustrating thing for me is the penalties and mental mistakes. To me, that's coaching. Whether it's fielding punts inside the five yard line, throwing into double/triple coverage instead of throwing the ball away, or the inopportune penalties., etc. Those are all coaching. Granted it's only three games, but it's the same stuff we saw the last few years. It's very frustrating to say the least...
  4. Anyone see how Bobby Mo University did yesterday? They lost 50-3. Only 4 first downs, 42 yds rushing, and 108 total yds. Granted they were playing a power program from the Patriot League...Lafeyette. (Sarcasm inserted) :/ http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/gamecast?gameId=400558483&version=mobile Kind of puts last weeks win in perspective...
  5. If I could've "bolded" the word potential from my phone I would've. Right now I'm not sure I see another win on the schedule. Granted I'm a bit down on the team after tonight's performance. But based on what I saw last week and what I heard tonight, I don't think it's too far fetched.
  6. We don't play idaho state this year. The only potential wins I see are Weber State or stoneybrook since they are home games. As of now, I don't see us winning at UNC.
  7. Combine that with kid only being 4 years old. The timing certainly doesn't help either with Rice and now the news about Greg Hardy.
  8. I have a feeling this won't end well for AP or Vikings fans...
  9. UND's VB team was mediocre at best prior to Hardee arriving on Campus. I like that Faison is putting resources into the vb program as there are quite a few players in the area that can play at the DI level. Meanwhile, UND wins the 4th set 25-14 to win the match 3-1.
  10. FIU up 17-11 in second set. Stats can be found here: http://www.gojacks.com/newLiveStats/Volleyball/index.html?GAME_STAT_ID=1636287&db_oem_id=15000
  11. I will go with 27-13, Missouri State. I will be looking for less mistakes (batched snaps, players running the wrong play, etc) and penalties, an improvement in the trenches (both sides), and better decision making by Mollberg. I don't expect a perfect game, but would like to see some improvement that gives me hope this team is headed in the right direction.
  12. I would agree it's a bit steep but not by much. I see us losing this game by three scores (around 20 points) like you said. I'm not trying to be a hater, but what I witnessed at the Al last Saturday was just not very good. The only positive change I saw from last year's team was some increased aggressiveness on the defensive side of the ball. Still too many penalties, mistakes (botched snaps/handoffs, etc). I'll give them credit that they didn't give up, but there is still quite a ways to go. This team now has a measuring stick...time to see how much Bubba can coach them up and see what kind of progress is made over the course of the season..
  13. Don't gamble much on sports but 5dimes has MSU a 26 point favorite on Saturday...
  14. Hadn't realized they were doing it this year. I just recall past posters saying NDSU wouldn't do it or that they didn't agree with it even though most schools around the country do or have done it. Also nice to see that a game against a team from the "Big Fluffy" as Bison fans like to say, has a higher ticket demand than their "rival" SDSU...
  15. It will be interesting to see what the prices will be for the football game next year. I have a hard time believing there won't be some type of dynamic pricing for the game. It will also be interesting to see how Bisonville rube react/respond to it since they don't believe that dynamic pricing is necessary.
  16. I agree with this. Heck, there even seems to be quite a bit of Bison fans/gear in GF. They have quite a bit of it at the new Scheels, and yes, I know Scheels is an NDSU supporter, but he wouldn't be stocking so much of it at the GF store if there wasn't a demand for it.
  17. Sweeney is leaving WDAZ for a job at UND. Best of luck to Mr. Sweeney, GF area sports won't be the same without him. http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/wdaz-sports-director-sweeney-leaving-und
  18. Considering the source of the initial quote your replying to, take that with a grain of salt as well...
  19. Frost Giants? http://shiny.areavoices.com/2014/09/08/the-frost-giants-a-new-und-nickname/
  20. Have they picked the site for this years show? Will it be downtown again?
  21. Ok...since we have this thread, I will put my post from the other thread here: This should be a winnable game. Don't know a whole lot about either team at this point, but am excited to finally see this new "Bubba" led team. Hopefully we will witness an improvement in the fundamentals (ie tackling, filling gaps, making blocks, etc), playing with fire and passion, and showing discipline. I'll go with UND 24-20.
  22. 34-13 SJSU wins. I need to see the improvement before I believe it.
  23. The question was asked during the Bison presser. A reporter asked if the possibility for future games including a game in GF were "on or off the table." Jeremy Jorgenson's (NDSU media person) answer was "off" and that was it. No explanation or further questioning about it.

    Fall Camp

I agree with you. It's nice to see some leadership coming from the dback position. Hopefully it translates to improvement on game day.

    Fall Camp

So captains have been named. On offense it's Brandon Anderson and Dwayne Pecosky. On defense it's Will Rattelle and Alex Tillman. I'm a bit surprised that a "first year" player (Tillman) is a captain.
