  1. Ummm, Bobby Stroup went to UND. Got kicked off the team and ended up at UNO.
  2. Sometimes you just have to be the bigger man and step up. Time to go down to Fargo and show them we aren't just a hockey school. The game will return to GF in due time. Edit: I should say...time to show them we aren't just a hockey, mbb, wbb, vb, and baseball school. :-)
  3. I also don't believe Williston will pass Fargo anytime soon. However, I do have a friend who teaches in the Williston school district and he said they gained 600 new students from last school year to this...that's just crazy!
  4. I don't get why so many UND posters are going out of there way to predict the demise of NDSU. Are they gonna be as good as they were the last few years? Of course not. Are they going to suddenly become a team without a winning record this year? More than likely not. They will be down a bit but I still like their chances at making the playoffs and they're still a heckuva lot better than us heading into the season. That should about sum up this stupid "pissing match." Now to switch gears, anyone believe UND has a chance to be ranked or gain votes this year?
  5. I find our ranking a bit surprising considering we tied for the crown last year. Then again we do have a new coach. Hopefully this will provide some extra motivation for the ladies. Anyone have any info on Idaho's vb program? Have they historically been a good program?
  6. There's one pet peeve I've always had about GF and that is the lack of "Right Turn" lanes on the major roads. For example, you're cruising down 42nd, Columbia, or Washington St at 35-40 mph and have to slam on the brakes due to someone turning making a right turn. Is it a conscientious move on the part of the city to not put these in as form of speed control? Or do they just not see the need for them?
  7. Although I still do not believe the BSC will split and have an FBS division, I find it rather amusing that the bison faithful are already starting to put their spin on it, just in case it does happen. :-)
  8. Not that I believe the theory that the Big Sky is going to split and have an FBS conference, but if this quote is true: "While the FCS teeters on a financial cliff, smaller FBS schools in conferences such as Conference USA and the Sun Belt Conference totter, watching their power rise. The FCS is going extinct. That’s what Eastern Kentucky coach Dean Hood says..." Then what happens to all of the FCS schools?
  9. As it exciting as it's is to get FBS transfers, I'll reserve judgement until they play on the field. Isn't half the roster for Portland State comprised of FBS transfers? (I may be exaggerating a bit, but they seem to have quite a bit each year, and it hasn't worked out to well for them.)
  10. Another WR joining the team...a walk on from a JUCO... ‏@SiouxFootball Appears WR Cassius Pierce (5'10"-180) of Pima CC will be walking on at UND this fall. Pierce had 31 receptions for 289 yards and a TD.
  11. This is an excerpt from the article, don't know how to copy and paste quotes on my phone: "This next step will mean consulting with stakeholders — students, children, residents, faculty, staff and alumni — and laying out the steps the university will take in picking a new nickname."
  12. Can someone explain what they mean by children when listing who the stakeholders are?
  13. A little bit of an update in the Herald today... http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/und-moving-gingerly-toward-new-nickname
  14. Here's your answer... http://www.grandforksherald.com/content/und-basketball-huff-signs-italy
  15. Yep, being from VC, it was a pretty amazing game to be at. Seemed like the whole town of VC was there. Sure would be fun to get some big time DI schools to come to the Ralph, but I don't see it happening again for awhile.
  16. Sorry Darrell, but that was just too easy... :-)
  17. None of us have said we are happy about the schedule. We just have better understanding of how difficult it is to get DI teams to come to GF than you do. And you never answered my question. Do believe Jones et al intentionally avoided scheduling DI home games?
  18. So what do you think the reason is for the lousy home schedule Darrell? Do you actually believe it's by choice that Jones is not brining in DI teams and instead opting for the Mayvilles and Dickinsons?
  19. Isn't the UNO game part of Bracket Buster games, all of which are scheduled late in the season? I don't remember if last year or this year is the last year if it though?
  20. We have had Northern Iowa, Louisiana Tech, Bowling Green, Green Bay, W. Illinois and IPFW to name a few, come to GF in the last couple years so it is possible.
  21. There's nothing I need to admit. I have no idea what some committee, which we don't even know what members are on it, will interpret the rules. All I know, that as they are currently written (which is in black and white, not some assumption), that his theory is plausible. If I were a betting man, I would bet against his theory coming to fruition based on many different reasons. You just claim it's against the rules...which it isn't, at least the rules I've seen/read.
  22. Takes two to tango. Maybe the MAC wasn't receptive to helping form another FBS conference in its footprint. Sunbelt and Big Sky are very different geographically. Why can't you just man up and admit that his theory is plausible based on current rules? Most of us admit that it has a very slim, if any, chance at happening.
  23. That's the only point that most on this board have been trying to point out to the Bison trolls. Most (UND Fans) believe that "Sioux Volley's" theory won't play out, but technically...at least as the rules are currently written now, it could. The Bison trolls are bending over backwards trying to provide proof that it can't happen...and technically it can. That's basically what our rivalry with NDSU has become now...arguing over technicalities and interpretations I guess...
