I apologize for any misinformation I may have perpetuated or created. My personal opinion: 24 hours is still fairly short notice for announcing changes (especially for freshmen) BUT kudos to the athletes staff for their hard work to continually improve student experiences

I was visiting with a student yesterday, and he mentioned that a lot of students chose not to purchase season tickets this year, instead just buying single-game tickets. The logic being that the fees involved with transferring tickets to another person are high enough that if you miss more than 3 games you lose money (or something like that...I didn't actually question the math). I think that is part of the reason why the student section was bare last season...students couldn't or didn't want to go to a specific game but weren't willing to pay the fees to transfer their tickets to another student. Gotta love Ticketmaster! This is just my theory based on second hand information, though.

I have a theory that some of this is due to the fact that people have a knee-jerk reaction to something they see and choose to respond immediately, rather than read through the entire thread (which likely includes a moderator warning) before chiming in.

Honest question: would there be a committee that you wouldn't be upset and b!t%h about? Edited to add: I am just trying to say that nothing is perfect; sometimes you just have to accept the situation and have faith. I personally am pleasantly surprised by the number of current and former athletes on the committee who are absolutely familiar with the history and tradition of the Fighting Sioux name.

Compared to Florida they are probably super cold. Of course, I don't want to know what that would make ND...

Aren't all people entitled to their own opinions? Some posters insist that they have a right to "be honest" and state what they believe, even if it is negative. Out come the "Bison fan" or "hockey only fan" comments. But when others post their beliefs, anything positive results in the "duckies and bunnies" label. WHO CARES if some people have a more optimistic outlook than you! WHO CARES if some people have a more pessimistic outlook than you! Discussion doesn't always result in consensus. Why not be respectful and enjoy the diversity of perspectives? This message board really isn't very fun any more.

I am one member that does not want to see a smack forum. Thank you for all you do, Jim! It is greatly appreciated, even if it isn't widely heralded.
