  1. I heard the president of FSU talked to the team yesterday about how it's a privilege to play there, not a right. I suspect the team wondered why FSU had the second most important guy on campus talk to them. Jimbo had already addressed the team over the weekend.
  2. I'm sticking with this.
  3. < raises hand > Not me. I knew Muss was a flaky guy from watching him at Sioux Boosters events. The instant he was hired I bemoaned it, and what I knew to be inevitably coming, to those I was with. (I was hoping for Mannausau if they were going to stay in-house.)
  4. I wonder why the four time defending national champions of FCS are concerned at all about a team that went 5-7 last season.
  5. Yup. The key to a Tampa Two scheme is the safeties and the MLB. All are new to the starting role.
  6. Save six key starters on defense: two starting safeties, three season opening linebackers, and an all-everything defensive end.
  7. I stand by my prior take:
  8. Note: I moved this thread into the NCAA News forum because it better aligns with the conversations here.
  9. The MWC and the AAC are the top of the G5. However, the distance from the all-sport FCS conferences to the Sun Belt and MAC isn't that far; and Conference USA is not what it used to be (go look at current membership). Honestly, ESPN won't care about anything below the "autonomy" tier. They'll focus on the NFL and the other pro league (the autonomy tier). The second tier will need the second and third tier sports networks (regional and local) for exposure and money.
  10. Bakken. Oil. United goes to Denver then into Texas (oil companies). That's the answer for Bismarck, Minot, and Dickinson.
  11. I signed him up for "their/there/they're" already. His dance card after that will be: too/to/two than/then affect/effect assure/ensure/insure
  12. Doug's managing 14 opinions in some way or another (the core 11; Idaho but not FB; Cal Poly, UCDavis FB). In a past interview he talked about how an FCS group and an FBS group all under the Big Sky banner would actually make sense from certain perspectives.
  13. I'd say Doug Fullerton is a lot closer to what's going on behind the scenes than the rest of us. And Fullerton is right: the split, FBS/FCS, is in the wrong spot because, as he says, the "bright line" is between the P5/G5 in FBS. I've believed for quite a while that DI college football will be three levels: the P5 (autonomy) portion of FBS, the rest of FBS (aka the G5) plus the top of FCS; those strugging fiscally (including non-scholarship) in FCS.
  14. You lost me right there.
  15. For you, half of double price. That covers your purchase of the item and the service plan.
  16. As I've said to NDSU fans, I'll say here: How things are today is how they'll always be. (And if you believe that I have this for sale.)
  17. He's the one on the right.
  18. Nope. They claim the best UND will see in the regular season is Montana State's Prukop (third team). What NDSU does have is what I want for UND: Offensive linemen on that list.
  19. Wentz is a far bigger snub than Ratelle. Wentz did QB a title team last season.
  20. I'll save you a trip: http://oxblue.com/open/pcl/UNDSMHS Nope, can't see Garrison or Bald Hill in that image.
  21. Pure guess (with some "Capt. Obvious" assumption): Tech money (Microsoft or Google) Bellevue is halfway between Seattle and Redmond.
  22. I doubt the SCOTUS. I think the other 31 NFL owners would sit Snyder down and explain to him how that, no matter what ruling is handed down, this in the SCOTUS is "net negative" for the team and the league. (see: recent media treatment of Confederate flag) I doubt the SCOTUS would take it anyway. If they did, based on recent SCOTUS rulings, I don't think Dan Snyder would walk away happy.
