Jimbo Fischer cut him loose. As well he should have. Baggage: it's not worth it in today's travel light, media driven society.

Georges: B misdemeanor. $225 fine. For comparison, former NDSU linebacker Travis Beck in 2012 got a B misdemeanor (minor in possession of alcohol) and a $325 fine. ND Courts searches are fun.

Jab? If I'd have taken a jab I'd have said, "Vikings fan? Really? Did you lose a bet?"
-
OK, so I don't feel so alone in my confusion about it. (When I think Big Sky and Vikings I get "Portland State" also.)

It's terrible to say about a college kid, but all I see is baggage. In Tomek We Trust.

I'm still holding out hope that one of Ohio State's three QBs will transfer here. I fear we have about the same chance of our hopes coming true.

Then again, that stability (8 year deal) may entice Hastings to hold out in Mankato until Lucia retires.

Did someone say "big player" and "true stakeholder"? May I introduce 6'1", UND volleyball outside hitter Chelsea Moser. Big. Player. Stakeholder. "Saying we're going to be North Dakota to me means saying we're going to stay the Fighting Sioux." -- Chelsea Moser, quite possibly the most honest person on the committee.

If somehow Dave St. Peter lost "Twins", would he continue on as just the "Minnesota MLB franchise"? "And here comes your Minnesota major league baseball team that plays home games at Target Field!"

2015 British Open at St Andrews-The Old Course
The Sicatoka replied to sioux rube's topic in Non-collegiate sports
Agree. But when I hear "ruptured" ligaments in the ankle, the ankle that all of a right-handed golfer's weight ends up on, I'm not thinking he's going to be playing at the highest level in the world any time soon. Is this the twist of fate that keeps Spieth on the Slam path to the PGA Championship? -

The shot to right-center, 436 feet, was stunning. When it left the bat I thought he'd popped out to right.

"Ruptured" ligaments? That sounds bad, or do the British use "ruptured" where we'd say "sprained"? -
With the long weekend and lot of other events, some of you may have missed an amazing performance by UND's Jeff Campbell on Thursday night (July 2). UND's Jeff Campbell won the College Baseball Home Run Derby over Wake Forest's Will Craig in the finals and players from Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, BYU, Miami (FL), and NC State UND Sports recap: http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=210181393&DB_OEM_ID=13500 Final standings (from Bleacher Report): http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2513584-2015-college-baseball-home-run-derby-winner-twitter-reaction-and-highlights Congratulations Jeff! You can see some of the comments from this board from Thursday night starting here: http://forum.siouxsports.com/topic/20209-2015-baseball/?p=797132 My favorites: - The 20-spot Campbell put up in the first round - The 479 foot bomb to left-center -- the thing should've had to file a flight plan

Exactly. They are already getting their money out of the Dakotas. Midcontinent already carries the BTN. (Not sure about Cable One.) There is nothing to gain (for the B1G) by adding anything from the Dakotas. To figure out who the B1G is after next, cross-reference the lists of largest media markets and public AAU member schools. Find the ones that abut current B1G states and there's your winners. Recent examples? Rutgers (aka NJ State University) + NYC media market; Maryland + Balt/Wash media market.

Is Moser (or the letter writer) wrong.
-
First, let me state it here: I sent my curriculum vitae to Dr. Kelley volunteering for this committee. Yes, I volunteered to step on the tracks in front of this freight train. Having said that, I'm stunned at how little prior research this group seems to have done. - They don't seem to realize that the consultant template when moving away from a native related nickname is < adjective, normally a color > Hawks. - They don't seem to realize that using another (a neighboring and rival) state's nickname is not worth consideration. - They either haven't, or aren't willing to admit if they've, talked to the NCAA about "no nickname". - They don't know the originator of "Sundogs" and how that is a direct affront, one last "in your face", to people who supported the old name.
-
There is no way I see Dr. Kelley allowing the outcome Moser so clearly described. None. I'm not talking about letters, or survey, or polling data. (I'm not even sure what letter you're talking about. I haven't seen a newspaper all weekend.) There is no way I see the man with the final decision allowing that outcome.
-
Here's a reality some haven't fully realized yet. Chelsea Moser killed the "no nickname" possibility. How? By stating what we all know ... publicly. There is no way Dr. Kelley will allow "no nickname" to happen after this: "Saying we're going to be North Dakota to me means saying we're going to stay the Fighting Sioux." -- Chelsea Moser It might have survived to the final seven, but there's no way I see Dr. Kelley allowing that outcome.
