    UND wants to play with speed. Q wanted to clog it up and slow it down. Goldie wants to play with speed on their glacier. Can they flip styles and get rid of the defensive gawking in a week.

    About a year ago in REA, two very strong teams battled. One made it look easy, one got handled readily. The one that lost learned from it, quit reading the press, and started working harder … and went on to big things.

    Goalie gear problem? From the time you let to official know (to hold play) to you being ready: 30 seconds. If you aren’t done you must leave the ice for a shift for a replacement goaltender to allow completion of “repairs”.

    The slow change is a pox on the game. Officials need to crack down on it by blowing the whistle and dropping the puck whether or not both players are at the dot. That would fix the nonsense in a hurry.

    There's this "transformation" committee at the NCAA level. You have FBS G5 conferences inviting FCS teams that are nowhere (and I mean about half of UND's numbers) near the 15k average attendance number for FBS. Is that a "tell" on what is really coming down?
