I found this on a CSNBBS board in response to a claim these moves (TX/OK --> SEC; USC/UCLA --> B1G) being greed based: I'm struggling to defeat the argument.

I'd guess the B1G goes after Stanford and Cal. Having USC and Stanford might finally get the B1G their prize: Notre Dame.
