So the sucking sound from Michigan is players rushing out the door, and not their defensive zone coverage in OT last night?

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

We return basically the same defense and arguably no better (maybe lesser) goaltending, and the team was 20th in fewest goals allowed per game last season. There's work to be done there as well. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/stats/ -

The Domer's travel path would've been closer to a inverse hyperbolic cosecant. -

Start at 2:30 mark here: https://www.ncaa.com/video/icehockey-men/2022-03-24/notre-dame-defeats-north-dakota-ot-thriller Did Jandric need to knock his man down? I think it was more of an "oops" reaction after he whiffed on the puck. (Was Jandric just coming off the bench? That was a terrible whiff.) Notes from video: The Notre Dame guy had to re-path to get around Jandric no matter what, which would slow him down. Frisch had already flipped his hips and was doing the edgework to get down ice at time of whiff. The puck was slow; Frisch got to it at half-speed at the circles; if Ethan had been digging he'd have been to the puck at the blue line, about the same time as a Domer would've, and he'd have had a decent angle on a Domer. Jandric should've trusted his teammates (Frisch, and Driscoll) to cover for him. But, that water is already over the dam and under the bridge. -

The role/reps I thought he'd get, based on performance, will be going to Belquist and I think he figured it out. -

Cochran in the portal? Which GLIAC school do you think he lands at? -

If you enter the portal after May 1 you fall back under the old "must sit out a transfer season" transfer rule. (That's for fall/winter sports; for spring sports the deadline is July 1.) -

Who's in the Frozen Four? Numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5 in goals scored per game. Who's in Nat'l Champ game? Number 1 and 2 in goals scored per game. (They're all also top 10 in fewest goals allowed per game.) https://www.collegehockeynews.com/stats/ -
RT's "should have dones" in there are why I say imprudent.

We lose Ford. We need a center. McLaughlin is obvious solution. Honestly, with Senden and Hain coming back, that's the only official opening at forward. We need speed and offense, and that's Blake. Here again is where I ponder outbound portals, and maybe running with more than 15 forwards. -
Bruce Ciskie is naughty.

So, how many Woofies and Goophies sign pro contract by Monday morning?

That fits the pattern: After two seasons at UND guys are evaluated. Are they or are they not developing and performing the role. -

He almost looked grey (and I don't mean hair).

It happens to younger teams. And it did.

Starman was on the Westwood One broadcast (carried on ESPNU Radio on Sirius) for the games with some name/voice I'd never heard before. Starman's "favorite" (spelled: wife) sideline reporter was with them.

The MVC schools wanted Murray BB and I'm sure they gave "assurances" to Murray they'd have a FB home too if they left the OVC. Disparaging Murray like NDSU recently did disparages the MVC. Is that "ready"? Bresciani publicly saying he voted against Murray State is sticking a finger in the eye of the MVC portion of the MVFC and wasn't a great move if you're looking for a call from anyone. All of college athletics notices moves like that. It was imprudent, just as imprudent as Roger Thomas' infamous "won't play NDSU" press conference. UND paid for it for probably a decade because everyone noticed. How few understand the simple philosophy of "praise in public, punish in private". Did Bresciani do it to show his base that he's doing "something"? But what can Bresciani do? He's lame duck. And you can say you're "ready" all day, but it takes an invite. And, part of ready is behavior, and frankly, that may be Bresciani's (NDSU's?) "Roger Thomas" moment in the eyes of conference administrators. Bresciani could have said the same thing the way UND's Armacost did, " ... I'm respecting the private ballot ..." or even a simple no "comment". Saying what Armacost did when MoSt and WIU are saying they voted yes is a strong tell on Armacost's thoughts, and vote. Nothing stopped Bresciani from using the same "tell". Armacost in a tough situation said something positive "I respect the private vote", and not something negative. He tipped his hand and yet stayed positive. Again, "praise in public, punish in private". And that behavior is part of ready.

Montana and Montana State would jump at an invite. Cal-Davis would jump also. Weber State has BB history and has made FB stadium improvements for some reason.

It's a good thing I'm not a player against them. I'd be chirping about "Where's your captain? Which cell block?" at every opportunity. Yeah, Coach Fershenwatzhiznam doesn't need Miller and that baggage in his present (Washe) environment. If today's hockey had its version of the 1970s Oakland Raiders, Miller would be there already. --> All the other stuff? Meh. "Just win baby!"

Mel Pearson could be gone; the allegations are not a good look on a woke Michigan campus. The "duck WMU" PR fiasco is just more fuel on a smoldering pile of not-good. https://www.michigandaily.com/ice-hockey/connor-earegood-pearsons-lack-of-an-extension-is-suspect/ And if Adam Fantilli needs a home, I'm sure UND could find him a bed on campus and a rack to hang his street clothes on and some sweats when he goes for a skate in REA.

They did: Grand Forks County to Traill County and Trail County to Cass County.

If Boise had gotten an invite to wherever ... I can name at least three schools closer or in the MWC footprint that could do it.
